She sat by her window, staring at the city lights, and thought about the woman she had become. She wasn't the same girl who had begged for Pasco's attention, who had waited by her phone for a message that never came. She had grown stronger, learned to stand on her own. But why did her heart still ache for him?
The door to her apartment buzzed, pulling her from her thoughts. When she opened it, Filex stood there, his expression unreadable.
"I needed to see you," he said simply. "I couldn't leave things the way they were tonight."
Debbie stepped aside to let him in, her heart racing.
