I always been fascinated by how the world and physics work in the universe, the gravity, the energy moving around, the atoms that they thought would explode upon destruction and the biology of the living.
Like how does that happen, although we already ran past that era of searching for answers and are already on the way to the era of perfecting and harnessing it.
Does it really end, the knowledge unknown to understand, and maybe magic? Does that really exist?
James thought about how fascinated he always was imagining if magic were true; he always dreamed about it and had been studying harnessing energy without the use human creation called technology.
But after 100 years of research, his efforts became a hopeless and distant dream. Then, after 1 year of contemplating his own failures, he turned to games.
Hoping to find his way back to his dream, he played all year long until his dream ignited again. James studied how games are created, what is needed, and how to make them work.
His fascination with magic made him believe that maybe, just maybe, it was all in front of him, but he always ignored it.
But now, looking at his own situation, floating in a distant cosmos, millions of light years away from the nearest civilization.
Few hours ago...
James found a creature that resembled humans but was definitely not human as its body survived the freezing space; it emitted heat thousands of degrees, countering the freezing.
After James managed to haul it using the space grabber that uses magnetic waves and put it in his ship, it managed to melt his experimental room, destroying it along with his ship.
Looking pathetic, James regretted hauling unknown things in his ship without careful consideration, and now he was being sucked toward a white hole which might end his life together with the body of the alien creature outside his damaged emergency capsule.
Theoretically, nobody still knows what is on the other side of the white hole. It's been theorized that the other side was another universe, but a scientist would have dismissed it as nonsense.
Looking at the 1-meter-wide hole squirming and bending like a mouth ready to swallow him whole, James thought of how fruitful his last 347 years of living had been.
Thinking his time was finally coming, James closed his eyes before everything became static and stationary.
...
After countless time spent in darkness and hearing the screeching sound,
James opened his eyes, looking at the blue skies, he was reminded of the game "Sword of Destiny," a famous game for its pure fantasy magical realism.
Flaming birds are flying....
"What the.... Am I dreaming???"
Looking around, he found his 20 square meter spaceship, full of damage and destroyed space parts scattered around while the capsule he used still looks usable.
James decided to stand up to check it out, but before he could walk, memories of an unknown entity flooded his mind, overwhelming his brain before he collapsed.
Few minutes later, James regained his consciousness. Viewing the new added memories in his brain that seemed odd for him.
The memories belonged to a deity of entertainment and gambling, a new low divinity neutral deity in charge of entertainment and gambling.
This new deity was supposed to be ascending to mid divinity but was ambushed by some new deity plundering all his divinity.
But luckily for the god, a white hole, or what the deity called the gate of the void, opened up, swallowing him, which leads him into a suspended animation before being found by James two thousand years later.
The remaining divinity fused with James' soul, making him strong enough to not get ripped to pieces inside the gate.
"Freak! So I just became a god? Just like that? And haha, finally Magic!!! " James laughed loudly.
Beasts that heard those laughs scrambled from the area before running away. Even though James had just bonded with a small spark of divinity, mortals must still feel fear from his presence.
The some early memories of the god seem blurred and also the five gods that killed the James current predecessor looks so hazy and blurred.
James tried to force his brain to look at their face but his surrounding rapidly cooled down giving James goosebumps.
Without further ado, James stopped forcing his brain remembering the important but just continued searching for relevant details he need to.
This planet was named Aleator, birthplace and the mother of his predecessor, borned from the belief of the current habitants of the planet.
Gnomes, known for their love of invention and tinkering and also enjoy creating elaborative gambling games or theatrical contraptions.
Because of the massive 5 billion population of the gnomes, their faith and love for gambling converge together forming his predecessor.
As the sole god living in this planet, James predecessor grew strong rapidly than the other new born gods making him the target of envy leading to the current predicament with James and the God fusing their soul together.
As the consciousness of a god was pure and untainted until mid-divinity, James' characteristics remained the same. If it had been some mid-divinity god, James would have been devoured, leading to his demise erased to oblivion.
Luckily for him, a low-level god still doesn't have the complete ego to devour his well-being. James, thinking at it, felt so relieved that he sat down on some rock thinking how lucky he was.
According to his memories, because his divine vessel, which held the stored divinity from the faith of the people, was destroyed and is rebuilding. He must start from scratch, which might take thousands of years before he reaches mid-divinity.
Looking at his not-so-good condition and starting point, James felt like a new gamer who just started in the beginner's village with nothing but information. He will never know when those pesky gods will come back and kill his, or rather, his new body again.
"No use of overthinking this, let's just first build up our strength."
A god walking in the physical plane looks ridiculous, he was supposed to be banned from the mortal plane, as stated in the law of the universe.
But because of his unique circumstances with a mortal body that carries a divine vessel, he is able to walk the mortal world and won't face penalties except if he were to directly intervene in mortal affairs.
But before he can build up his divinity, he needs some followers that can collect divinity, and he also needs to repair his spaceship and salvage usable technology.
Looking at the spaceship that would crumble with a small touch, James seems skeptical if it still has usable tech.
But before that, he needs to open his escape pods.
Phsssss....
Smoke and heat greeted his face after the pod opened. Inside is a plasma gun and survival kit; it was supposed to be used in emergencies, but looking at his current situation, this is supposed to be it.
After inspecting that it's all usable, he gripped the side of the pod before pulling the 200-kilogram pod from the depression of the ground.
Crinkk....
The metal screech from the rubbing of the stone in it. This feat was normal, using biochemistry and gene vials from a concoction that has thousands of years of development gives humans supernatural physical abilities. Many also go to experimentation and mechanical cyborg paths, changing their whole body to metals and weapons.
James, as a pure natural, he only injected himself with a low-level strength concoction for physical labor in his scientist days, but now with the divine vessel, the penalty of it disappeared.
As the concoction uses the energy of the body and focuses it in the muscle that is going to be used and strengthens the bones to avoid injury, it also consumes the energy of the user.
But because of the divine vessel that contains divinity that can replace the energy needed by his body, even though it is empty, James can still use it every day without falling into exhaustion for 100 years.
Boom...
The ground trembled after he put down the pods into a clearing he just made, and now he just needs to go inside the ship and salvage anything usable.
...
Kilometers away from James' crash site, a group of echomorph was scrambling from the vibration of the ground.
Children began to tremble from fear, and anxiety took over the whole community.
Then the elder of the village shows up.
Using the vibration from the ground, the echomorph start communicating with each other about what is the best decision they can make towards this situation.
Just a few hours ago, a shooting star crashed kilometers away from their village, scaring the beast which almost caved in their homes.
Echomorph lived in holes like rabbits with their gelatinous round body that shines with the sunshine. Echomorph range from color to color that vary depending on their profession.
As the colorful blob of echomorph gathered, one weird colorless echomorph joined the fray.
Gloo, the colorless, was a variant echomorph that still doesn't have a profession that echomorphs used to have as he still doesn't know what he is going to do or that was his village had thought about him.
His colorless appearance made him the laughing stock of their village, but because of his unusual power that made him stronger than his race shut the voices of the other echomorph.
Tap tap...
Gloo communicates with the village head that he volunteered to go to the place where the star crashed and investigate.
"You, you must take care!" The village head replies.
Even though the villagers mock him, their community grows because of Gloo, so no one felt dissatisfied, and someone even voices their concern for Gloo.
