Chapter 8 - Chapter8:The Reveal

These words seemed to wake everyone up, and they also jolted Qi Xia into clarity.

Yes, the "Liar" indeed had an overwhelming advantage.

Qi Xia frowned slightly. Why was his chance of winning so high?

Lying to a group of strangers—people who didn't know him or understand him—meant that any random lie would be difficult to see through.

Could using a fake name really result in the death of eight people?

Or was it that…

The person who drew the "Liar" card was a chosen one, and this was an inherently unfair game?

"No… that's not right," Qi Xia thought to himself. "If survival was determined just by drawing the card, they might as well write 'Life' and 'Death' on them. That would achieve the goal more easily. Otherwise, what's the point of this nearly hour-long game?"

A deep sense of unease spread in his heart.

Qi Xia kept recalling every single word spoken by the Goat Head.

Could it be…

"Hey, it's your turn," Qiao Jiajin said, giving Qi Xia a light tap.

He snapped out of his thoughts, realizing that everyone was staring at him with strange looks.

At this point, there was no time to think further. Hesitating any longer would only make him look more suspicious.

He steadied himself and began to reorganize his thoughts.

The sentence, "My name is Li Ming, I'm from Shandong," kept replaying in his mind…

But at this moment, he absolutely couldn't use that answer. If he wanted to find the "solution" to this game, he had to take a gamble.

Qi Xia opened his eyes and said to the group, "Everyone, my name is Qi Xia. I'm from Shandong, and I'm a professional con artist."

"A con artist?" The response was disjointed and scattered.

Lawyer Zhang and Xiao Ran seemed suspicious of Qi Xia, while Lin Qin, Han Yimo, and Tian Tian still hesitated.

Based on the surface rules, the "Liar" was already about to win this game.

The votes were not unanimous.

The rules were clear: only by everyone identifying the "Liar" could all eight people survive together.

Qi Xia didn't participate in any discussions and silently closed his eyes.

Countless clues swirled in his mind.

The Goat Head had said, "Among the storytellers, there is one and only one Liar."

The Goat Head had said, "The rules are absolute."

The Goat Head had said, "You have all been asleep for 12 hours."

Qi Xia opened his eyes. Now, he was just missing one final piece of information to solve this "puzzle."

But where was that information?

Suddenly, a flash of insight struck his mind.

The crisscrossing lines on the walls and floor made him instantly alert. He glanced at the clock on the table—it was almost 1:00.

"So that's it…" Qi Xia's eyes widened. "Close call… I'm a con artist, but I almost got conned by you all."

The group seemed to notice Qi Xia's unusual behavior. However, since he had barely spoken from the beginning, no one knew what he was thinking.

"Hey, can I have another piece of paper?" Qi Xia asked the Goat Head.

Hearing this, the Goat Head was visibly stunned, then cautiously asked, "You… need another piece of paper?"

"Yes," Qi Xia nodded. "I need a scrap piece of paper."

The Goat Head was silent for a long moment before finally pulling another piece of paper from his suit pocket and handing it over.

Qi Xia took the paper without hesitation and immediately started calculating.

He counted the large squares on the walls—there were nine in total. On the floor and ceiling, there were sixteen squares each.

"If I'm not mistaken…" Qi Xia quickly jotted down notes. "Each square represents one square meter, which means we're currently in a room that's three meters high and four meters long and wide…"

"Four times four times three… forty-eight cubic meters."

Qi Xia's hand trembled slightly. "It's not enough… nowhere near enough…"

The group looked at Qi Xia in confusion. This was supposed to be a game about identifying the Liar, but here he was, doing math instead.

He wrote down several more calculations, finally arriving at the numbers 54.6 and 49.14.

When he saw these two numbers, Qi Xia's face turned pale as if he were struggling to accept something.

If his assumptions were correct, the situation they were in was far more terrifying than they realized.

His eyes flickered with uncertainty as his thoughts drifted elsewhere.

The group's arguments gradually died down.

This man, who had refrained from participating in any discussions and had been silently calculating, seemed to have found the "answer" to this puzzle.

After a long time, he finally looked up at everyone, his gaze filled with fear, hesitation, doubt, and confusion.

"Everyone," Qi Xia cleared his throat and spoke softly. "I didn't want to save you at first, but if you get it wrong, I'll die too. I absolutely cannot die here—someone is waiting for me outside. So no matter what, I have to find a way out. I have no choice but to reveal the answer. Please listen carefully."

"Bro, what do you mean by 'answer'?" Qiao Jiajin, who was closest to Qi Xia, asked in confusion. "Do you know who's lying?"

Qi Xia didn't reply. Instead, he picked up his identity card and slowly revealed it to everyone.

"This is the role I drew."

The group leaned in to look. The words Liar were glaringly obvious on the card.
