I am walking down the hallway when I hear someone's voice yelling, so I duck behind the nearest wall to eavesdrop. I see a man with curly brown hair yelling at someone I do not recognize. I go to step in when Arc grabs my shoulder to stop me. He puts a finger to his lip indicating a gesture to silence me. I follow his suggestion and stay put. The brown haired boy yells, "I told you to ruin them, and you spread a childish rumor! How moronic are you!" The boy being yelled at cowers in fear and says, "I'm sorry, sir. I couldn't find anything interesting on them." "Out of my sight now!" the brown haired boy yells exasperatedly, pointing in a seemingly random direction. The boy walks past us with a courteous nod. The brown haired boy walks off frustrated.I walk out of cover, and turning to Arc, I ask, "Have we not seen that man with that brown hair somewhere?""He's the man you took down on the first day in the locker room." Arc replies, chuckling a little."That guy?" I ask myself, a little annoyed. "Do you have any idea what he was talking about?" I continue, turning to ArcArc looks away and says, "Nope. No idea."Sira pops up behind me and jumps on my shoulders enthusiastically, but when I would normally have fallen, I manage to keep my composure. I realize that my training is finally paying off. My mana circuits are full of mana up to elbows and knees from constantly running mana through them to open my gates slowly. Arc looks at me a little surprised and Sira looks a little shocked, but as if to compensate, she starts treating me like a monkey gym. We observe her as she starts jumping up and down with her hands on my shoulders, pulls my arm out and does a pull up, and attempts to lift me with her shoulders, but before she could lift me, I chop her on the head and say, "What is wrong with you to just try to lift me out of nowhere."Sira looks at me with pouty eyes while grasping her head before asking, "When did you get so strong?"I reply by smirking and saying, "Wouldn't you like to know?"She looks at me for a second before she crosses her arms behind her back daintily, and looking away shyly, says, "Would you mind telling me please."I stand there a little shocked and can feel my face turning red and I mutter, "Well, I guess I could enlighten you."Sira smirks down at me as she suddenly loses her teary eyed complexion. I get upset and say, "You dirty mongrel. Alright fine. I'll show you, but you need to do one thing I ask of you as well."She contemplates for a second before agreeing to my deal. I smile a little and say, "The concept is actually very simple. Do you guys remember when I passed out after glowing a bunch?" Sira nodded and Arc eyed me warily. "Well, I was originally trying to pump mana throughout my entire circuit, but since I did it all at once, my gates were overworked all at once. This put tons of strain on my body, so my brain knocked me out in order to stop me. Are you guys with me so far?" Sira looked at me and nodded while Arc looked intrigued. "The doctor in the infirmary proposed that I do the process over the course of many weeks, so over the past couple weeks, I have been slowly and meticulously pumping mana throughout my body constantly and slowly prying open each gate."Arc looked at me with his mouth open and Sira Shook her head looking down with hand to it. Sira went on to ask, "Hey Kazu. Do you know how crazy the words that came out of your mouth just now actually are? You just said that you have been supplying mana to your circuits for weeks now which also means you have a near bottomless supply."I look at the two confused and ask, "Are you guys saying there is a limit to the amount of mana one has?"Arc looks at me with a terrified look in his eyes, but he then bursts out laughing at my question while Sira looks at me weirdly. Arc then says while still laughing, "Man, you really are a monster. I originally thought both of ya'll were monsters, but now I see the reason I thought that was cause Sira actually got most of her monstrous ability from hanging around this freak of nature. It seems it just rubbed off on her naturally."At this statement Sira slaps Arc on the back of the head, seemingly instinctively, before turning to me with a serious look and saying sternly, "Do not tell anyone about this. You will be taken away for research, or worse yet, they'll kill you on the spot out of fear." She turns away and although I don't hear her, she mutters to herself, "Crazy bastard. How did I never notice?"The next class comes, and Sira starts heading towards the classroom. As the two of us are walking a little behind, I turn to Arc and ask, "Could you send me that picture of me in Sira's lap from a couple days ago? I want it as my wallpaper."Arc looks at me sadly before saying, "She made me delete it. Otherwise, I would have sent it to you already. However, I do have other pictures of her, and while they ain't as heartfelt as the others..." He looks at me and smirks before saying, "I do have ones of her sleeping in class drooling for example."I look at him and gulp before whispering hurriedly, "She will kill you if she finds any of those. I would not be caught dead with them on my phone.""Your loss." he says as he catches up with Sira. I sigh before catching up to them. I promise myself to never snitch on Arc, but if he's caught, I won't run into the natural disaster on purpose.A few days pass and we were told a new transfer would be coming from a different class tomorrow for personal reasons. We never really interacted with the other homerooms much. Other people seemed to have friends in them, but I was lucky enough to have all mine end up with me in the same homeroom as well as the same squad. After class some people were talking about if he was handsome and other such junk. Although, one conversation caught my ear. A couple guys a few desks away from me were talking about something seemingly important."Did you hear about the break in at the National Archive Terminal?""I heard they escaped unscathed and that no one saw them. That's some insane stealth abilities. What do you think they stole?""I wouldn't be surprised if they stole government secrets. I also heard that a fort near us fell recently. Do you think we'll be attacked?."I doubt it. Who would be crazy enough to attack this place?"The conversation trails off into something I could care less about, so I pull out a book and start reading. I look up from my book and look around at the room. Everyone seems so peaceful that a small smile forms on my face before I return to my book. The next day comes and the instructor seems visibly tired as she walks in to greet the class in her usual insults barely anyone understands. She invites the transfer kid inside and tells him to introduce himself. Nothing prepared me for what happened next. A boy with short black hair and small eyes walks into the room and bowing formally, he says, "Hello. My name is Kazuto, but you can call me Kazu. As my brother Kazuhiro is in this class with me, I wish for you to treat me as you would treat him. I hope we can get along in spite of my strange appearance."I shoot up from my seat and stare at him shocked as everyone looks between the two of us. Everyone is murmuring as I stand there shocked. I finally snap out of it and say, "I have no memory of having a brother. Do you have any evidence to back up what you said?"He looks at me and says, "It disheartens me to see that you have no memory of me, although it does make sense since we were separated soon after your birth. As for evidence, I do not have any proof other than the fact that my memories tell me you are."The instructor cuts in by saying, "This is not the time. You guys may chat after class if you wish to do so. Kazuhiro, sit down. And Kazuto, take a seat next to Levey."Kazuto takes his seat and nods his head down while smiling towards Levey as a greeting. Class continues as normal, but I'm unable to focus since that bombshell was just dropped on me. The most I remember about the class is her talking about the weaknesses of magical beasts. The class ends, and I immediately get up to talk to Kazuto. However, I stop when I see Arc and Sira standing in front of Kazuto's desk Glaring at him intently. It's the dead of night in someone's room. A boy is again kneeling in front of the man with shoulder length hair. The man sitting on his bunk speaks. "Thank you for covering for me there. I won't need it again." He says all this in a snide tone with no clear remorse. The kneeling boy ignores his tone and says calmly, "You honor me with your words sir." The man with shoulder length hair stands up and scoffs before saying, "You are dismissed." The boy disappears near instantly. The man reaches for what seems to be a communication device under his bed, grateful that there were never any bunk inspections. He activates it and says into it, "We will be ready soon. Operation Finality will happen in one week." He receives confirmation and hangs up. He grins widely and crawls into his bed, drifting off to sleep.
