Onelia desperately pounded on the strong door of the
tower with her fists and pulled on the bell cable, but it was all
to no avail, no one opened it from the inside. She felt with her
back how hundreds of puzzled eyes were staring at her, trying
to understand why the Archon's wife was walking around the
city without protection, and she was afraid to look back,
fearing the impact of their magic. Other creatures's
insinuating words began to penetrate into her head, which
could not be clear because of the polyphony of sounds.
Suddenly the door opened and someone dragged Onelia
inside.
"Lost your mind?" Denris whispered loudly. "Walk
unaccompanied!"
She clutched at his tunic and sobbed.
"I knew it would happen." He put his arm around her and
pulled her up the stairs to the nearest living room.
She sank into a chair and put her head in her hands. Denris
sat down beside her and patted her arm sympathetically:
"Forcing you to share affection with others?"
She didn't answer.
"I don't like all this either, but there is no way out yet. I
lost myself and became a different being. It's hard for me to
get used to a refreshed body and gaining magic. Someone
should be pleased with this, but not me. None of my friends
understand my complaints, they even envy me, what a
capable wizard I am, everything turns out so easily, only now,
all this is earned by intimacy with the Queen... Well, I spoke
out!"
Onelia calmed down and looked into his expressive eyes,
not trying to hide her admiration for his appearance:
"Oh, what a feb you are! What eyes! So mesmerising! You
don't look like yourself at all..."
She sighed heavily.
"I'm going to be used to the fullest. I want - I don't want,
but someone's lustful look is always nearby, wanting my
energy, but they promise special magical powers in return ..."
"What are you going to do? Your husband could be here at
any moment."
"I will stay in bed with you in a friendly way, and no one
will punish me for this."
"With me?" Denris was surprised and chuckled. "Not bad
idea! We will rest from all harassment as the princess wishes."
He laughed fervently and took the guest to his bedroom.
No one came for her for a couple of days while she acted
passionately in love with Denris, who generously showered
her with sweet kisses in his bed. They intertwined their
bodies, satisfied that no one would disturb them for some
time, they slept in an embrace during the day, and at night
they ran out into the deserted cool parks, merrily chasing
each other under the rustle of leaves until dawn.
She always liked him as a person, and after the
transformation, the former pilot of starship became too
attractive, and she did not think about anything, enjoying
pleasant conversations in the arms of a rejuvenated magician,
wanting to distract herself from resentment towards her
husband. It was clear that their relationship was carefully
watched, and they tried to act naturally as if they were
covered with new feelings. Soon, a soft passion and
intoxicating intimacy flooded over them.
One afternoon they were awakened by a demanding
knock on the balcony window. Looking up, they saw black
winged Gedeon staring at them piercingly through the
translucent thick glass.
"Oh, the Queen Bee is calling me to her," Denris suggested.
"Her husband will accompany me, without him – no way."
He jumped out of bed and made passes with his hands. To
Onelia's amazement, a thin flowing fabric of lilac color
wrapped around his graceful slender body.
"Wow, you already know how to create elegant clothes so
deftly."
"You know that this is a reward for intimacy. Convenient,
of course, no worries about the wardrobe.
"How often does she call you?"
"Once every ten days."
"Is it difficult to please her?"
"Oh, how to say…" Denris was embarrassed. "She is a
vampire and intimacy with her is different from ordinary
women. In fact, we dissolve into each other and become one,
which is why the magical powers in me are so fantastic."
"Do you love her?"
"It's called differently, you know who I love... Sorry, I have
to go… Maybe you have to give up the passion of those birds,
it's not easy to live among them without magic…"
He ran out of the room, leaving her alone, which she did
not stay for long.
