Chapter 4 - The Hatched Eggs

4574 Calradian Summer...

Outskirts Of Enclave City...

Allied Empires Military Camp...

The mages, knights and adventurers of the 15 Empires, had come together to rid their lands from the threats of Dragons.

The Dragons had yet to attack for over a century, yet their previous sins couldn't be let off so easily.

It had seemed to them that the Dragons had just had pity on their powerless race and decided to refrain from destroying it.

However, this time round they would prove them wrong and take them down— or try at least.

*TA-RAT-TA-TAA!

*TA-RAT-TA-TAA!

The sound of the horns blew simultaneously as a massive magical screen, appeared up in the sky that everyone in the camp could see it clearly.

"This is Tower Master Uriel, one of the Core Dragons have been discovered around Mount Vernon!"

A mage in a Gray and Gold Cape indicating his position as Tower Master, two ranks below being the Magus announced.

The camp went to an uproar upon hearing the news. The Black Mages begun to open up numerous portals all over the camp, the troops flooding through to the other side.

Mount Vernon...

Foot of the Mountain...

Soon, the foot of Vernon was filled with knights and adventurers, the skies darkened by the countless mages hovering above on their brooms.

About to charge ahead and draw out the Dragon, the 10 renown Magus didn't even make a move when a loud roar shook the earth heavily.

Emerging from the mountain was a mighty red dragon, Tetra.

She was the mate of the Zoid Clan's Chieftain, however currently she was far from her clan and race. Vernon had been one of the birthing place of the Zoid Clan for centuries, especially the mates of the chieftain. Coming without an escort, she never expected the humans to be so bold.

The Zoids were the third powerful Dragon Clan, and such insolence would not go unpunished. She wasn't ready to give up her eggs which were almost due to be hatched—never.

*ROAR!

"That's a black horn, Its a High Rank!" The Wind Magus mumbled, almost falling off his broom from the realization of facing a horned dragon.

"How does that matter? Hah, its skin would make a good robe for me." The Flame Magus said, a grin up his face and his entire being aflame.

"It would be heavy. Dummy, use your head for once." The Frost Magus said, his icy words piercing through the burning soul of the Flame Magnus.

"Do you realize what we are facing, you bloody fool?! It's a death sentence. That's a Core Dragon of the Zoid Clan!" The Wind Magus tried to hammer what was at stake into their titanium skulls.

"Say what you want, it's already mad and so are we. Charge!!!" The Flame Magnus yelled loudly, still none had moved a step. Where they scared? No, the Wind Magus just wasn't amplifying his command to everyone.

"Darn it?!" The Wind Magus hissed.

CHARGE!!!

"Yes!!!" A battle cry resounded throughout the foot of the mountain, even startling Tetra for a mini second.

"Kill!!! Slay the Dragon!!!"

"Darn fools, how would their Empires react to their death now." The Wind Magus mumbled audibly, though mostly to himself. He was annoyed about how the Flame and Ice Magnus among other Magnus had fallen simply to the dragon's flames— after being a step away from the Supreme Magnus and infinite mana, they died pitifully without showing off their cherished arsenal of spells.

"Let me deal with that, Rican." The black robed mage and Spatial Magus, Jolen assured him.

"There's more to deal with now than inner wars. The Dragon Clans wouldn't hold their punches with a Core Dragon slain." She added.

"Ah, so that's why it was so over protective."

The two finally reached the end of the cave, just to see three eggs at the far corner in the dragon's nest

Approaching the nest, two of the eggs were similar with cracks all over it seemingly about hatching. Curiously watching the two, the eggs indeed were hatching and soon the heads of two dragons popped out.

The third had no movements and so it was decided by both them wordlessly to not focus on it.

Staring at the two, their scales not hardened being transparent like glass, one of the dragoon's seemed playful and welcoming. Yet the other had a stern gaze, sizing up the two with thoughts of having no relations with them filling up its mind.

"Rican, ever wondered how dragon meat tasted?!"

The playful dragon froze, the other probably expecting something ominous already was still taken aback— its eyes widening and pupils narrowing.

"Never knew there was actually flash beneath their skin? That one had bones under its scales." Rican mumbled.

"Really? Thought I tasted some meat back then, hmm."

"Huh?" Rican thought he'd just heard something way wrongly.

"Where are you going?" Jolen grabbed the two slowly crawling away by the neck.

Holding them, the two walked out towards the centre, as the wind mage got the fire rolling with a few basic flame spells.

Placed right beside the flames, the playful one was in sheer petrification gazing into the flames, while the other devised a quick escape plan.

Seeing the two humans engaged in conversation, it only took a single step when a slightly heavy wind wept it off it's feet straight into the flames.

Screeching as it roasted up, Jolen was a bit maddened preferring his on a stake instead. So deciding Rican got the other one aflame, he grabbed the other and killed it in one go before impaling it on the stake.

The other well cooked, soon gave up the ghost seconds after the other got its much quicker share of death.

In the realm of reincarnation once again, Adonis was faced with the two souls back on his screen. It was something he definitely didn't want happening again, tainting his name and job if the souls kept on returning in short periods.

Grabbing the manual book of the large system, Adonis went to work on the two step by step.

This time round he'd change everything and even their worlds and race would be different.
