"Give him to me," TenTen said eagerly, pulling a scroll from her waist.
Her dream had always been to become a great kunoichi like Tsunade. To achieve that dream, she needed to be independent.
However, in Team Three, with Kirito around, achieving this was challenging. No enemy seemed capable of lasting more than a few moments against him.
While Kirito's strength ensured their safety and flawless mission success, it left little room for the growth of the rest of the team.
"That's right, Kirito. Let us handle this guy. I also want to see how far I've come," Rock Lee echoed.
Like TenTen, Rock Lee was driven by dreams and a determination to surpass his limits. Neither could accept letting Kirito solve every challenge for them.
Over the course of several missions, Lee and TenTen often took the initiative to ask Kirito to step back and allow them to handle the tasks themselves.
Kirito was happy to oblige. His primary reason for joining missions with them was to enjoy the journey and protect them in case of danger.
"Fine, but go all out and finish it quickly," Kirito said, crossing his arms. "Our main mission is to rescue the Kazekage."
"Leave it to us!"
Without hesitation, TenTen stepped forward, facing the surging waves controlled by Kisame. She unfurled her scroll, determination burning in her eyes.
The scroll revealed a summoning sigil inscribed with the word "Flame." A small black dot formed at the center, from which fierce flames erupted.
"Hahaha! What can such a tiny flame do?" Kisame laughed, mocking the switch from Kirito's overwhelming presence to a girl's Fire Release.
His confidence stemmed from his control over the battlefield, knowing the vast amounts of water he could manipulate gave him the upper hand.
"Go!" TenTen shouted, pouring her chakra into the scroll. "Dragon's Breath!"
The tiny black dot rapidly expanded, and an inferno of blazing flames shot forth, resembling the legendary breath of a dragon.
Boom! Hiss—
The flames collided with the tidal waves, producing a dense, scalding mist that engulfed the battlefield.
"Heh, a powerful Fire Release, I admit I underestimated you," Kisame growled. "But how long can you keep this up?"
TenTen gritted her teeth, sweat pouring down her face from the heat and chakra exertion. "I won't give up!"
Her thoughts flashed back to the past, where she relied solely on ninja tools. Faced with an overwhelming Water Release, she would have been helpless. But now, she was no longer just a weapons specialist. She was a kunoichi who could wield ninjutsu with strength and resolve.
Pushing more chakra into her scroll, the flames surged even higher, pushing back Kisame's relentless waves.
"What the hell?" Kisame muttered, feeling the oppressive heat. For the first time, doubt crept into his mind.
Realizing his chakra reserves might run dry first, he redirected all his water toward TenTen and leaped into the air, aiming to strike her down with his Samehada.
"Konoha Whirlwind!"
A black shadow intervened, delivering a spinning kick that deflected Kisame's attack. The mist cleared to reveal Rock Lee, standing confidently.
"I am Konoha's beautiful blue beast—Rock Lee!" he declared, leaping into battle.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The sharp-edged Samehada clashed repeatedly with Lee's bandaged ankles as the two exchanged blows midair. Meanwhile, TenTen's "Dragon's Breath" completely evaporated Kisame's tidal wave.
Wasting no time, TenTen retrieved her scroll and summoned a pair of shurikens. With practiced precision, she hurled them toward Kisame.
"Understood!" Lee responded, using the momentum of his kicks to propel himself backward.
"Shuriken Shadow Clone Technique!"
TenTen's shurikens multiplied into dozens, creating a relentless rain of projectiles targeting Kisame.
"So that's your plan..." Kisame sneered, raising Samehada to block the incoming barrage.
"Shuriken Explosive Technique!"
As the shurikens approached, they transformed into flying tags, igniting in quick succession.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The explosions engulfed Kisame, leaving him battered and burnt. Emerging from the smoke, his left arm hung uselessly by his side, and his expression was grim.
"I-it's not over yet," Kisame stammered, trying to muster strength.
"No, it's already over," Lee's voice came from behind.
"When?!" Kisame's eyes widened as he realized his limbs were tightly bound by bandages.
Lee gave no room for retaliation, spinning in the air and driving Kisame headfirst into the ground with a resounding "Front Lotus!"
Boom!
The battlefield fell silent, with Kisame lying unconscious in the crater.
"Fuu... we did it," TenTen exhaled, collapsing to her knees from exhaustion.
