It had been three days since Kirito completed the mission in Hoshigakure.
In that time, Natsuhi had been appointed the new Hoshikage after the revelation of Akahoshi's crimes. Testimonies from his subordinates confirmed that Akahoshi had killed the previous Hoshikage in a cowardly ambush. The villagers, now aware of the deadly side effects of the Peacock Secret Technique, had begun a revolution to reshape their village's future.
Kirito, however, had no interest in the political turmoil. After helping Natsuhi and several others recover from the Star's chakra erosion, he returned to Konoha with Rock Lee, TenTen, and Naruto.
In Konoha, Kirito presented Tsunade with his detailed report on the medical procedures he used in Hoshigakure. Tsunade, reading through the report, couldn't help but be impressed.
"Hmph... I didn't expect you to be capable of something like this already," she remarked. "With this level of skill, there's not much I can teach you about medical ninjutsu anymore. You'll have to gain more experience on your own."
Kirito frowned slightly. "Not worth the loss," he thought. He had hoped for additional guidance, not an indication that he was on his own.
Seeing his expression, Tsunade laughed heartily. "Hahaha! Isn't this a good thing? You can't grow if you keep clinging to your teacher. Only by moving forward on your own can you surpass me one day."
Her tone suddenly shifted to something more serious. "But... since you've reached this level, it's time I teach you something else."
"What's that?" Kirito asked, though he had a good idea of what she meant.
Tsunade brought Kirito to a remote training ground outside the village, far from prying eyes.
"This is a good spot," Tsunade said, turning to face Kirito. "Today, I'll teach you two techniques: summoning jutsu and advanced chakra control."
"Advanced chakra control?" Kirito mused. "It must be the Super Strength technique. I've been curious to see how it works."
Tsunade continued her explanation. "The Senju clan originally developed a unique ability to enhance physical strength by controlling chakra. That's what I'm passing on to you."
Demonstrating, Tsunade clenched her fist and punched the ground.
Boom!
The solid ground cracked, creating a large hole. "This," Tsunade said, "is my raw physical strength—without any chakra enhancement."
She then summoned chakra into her fist and punched again.
Boom!
The earth didn't just crack; it shattered. Spiderweb-like fissures radiated outward, and the ground collapsed into a bowl-shaped crater.
As the dust cleared, Tsunade stood in the center of the destruction, her fist still raised. "The secret to this technique is concentrating chakra at the point of impact and releasing it all at once."
She gestured to another part of the training ground. "Now, let's see your raw power first. Go ahead and give it a try."
Kirito raised his fist and mimicked her motion, slamming it into the ground.
Boom!
The ground crumbled into another deep crater, almost as large as Tsunade's.
Tsunade's eyebrow twitched. "...That's without chakra?"
Kirito nodded, analyzing the result in his mind. "The ground here is solid rock. If it were soft soil, the effect wouldn't be this dramatic."
"Fine," Tsunade muttered, rubbing her temples. "Now try it with chakra."
This time, Kirito concentrated chakra into his fist before punching.
BOOM! BOOM!
The training ground quaked. The surrounding surface shattered entirely, rocks were upheaved, and the entire area looked as though it had been struck by an earthquake.
Standing at the epicenter, Kirito observed the result. "Tsunade's technique even causes wide-area damage. Fascinating."
Tsunade, standing on an overturned boulder, folded her arms. "I have to admit, you're a natural. Your physical skills are impeccable. With your chakra control, you've already mastered the basics."
She jumped down and stood in front of him. "Even though you've learned this technique, don't get complacent. Always push your limits."
"Yes, Ma'am," Kirito replied, already contemplating how to integrate the technique into his fighting style.
"Before we move on to summoning jutsu, I have a question," Tsunade said, her tone turning serious again. "Kirito, do you have any desire to become Hokage?"
"No," Kirito answered immediately. "I have no interest in being Hokage."
Tsunade sighed. She had suspected as much but hoped his answer might be different. Still, she admired his honesty.
"He's not someone who can be tied to Konoha. As much as I'd like him to be a future Hokage, he's made up his mind."
Tsunade bit her finger and performed the summoning jutsu.
Bang!
A large white slug appeared, emerging gracefully from the smoke. "Lady Tsunade, what do you need?" it asked in a soft, gentle voice.
Kirito stared at the slug, intrigued. "So this is the famous slug sage from the Shikkotsu Forest. Its reputation precedes it... and now I kind of want to poke it."
Tsunade addressed the slug. "Slug Sage, I've found a worthy student. I'd like him to sign a contract with you."
The slug turned its attention to Kirito, its gentle demeanor shifting to sudden surprise. "Oh! What extraordinary chakra! You... you're no ordinary ninja!"
The slug sage recoiled slightly, as though overwhelmed.
