The entire surroundings were engulfed in flames. In the castle, a stunningly beautiful woman stood and watched from the tower. Her face and snow-white hair were covered with fabric, while her blue gem-like eyes were blank and emotionless. Tears streamed down her cheeks as she gazed at the fall of her tribe.

"Why? W-why did it end like this?" Her voice was filled with sorrow and suffering. She crouched down. Her whole tribe had been wiped out by none other than her treacherous husband.

He killed her entire clan. Burned down her whole tribe. He broke the promise between their empires just for that good-for-nothing saintess.

"Isn't this a lovely sight, my Empress?" She gently stood up and wiped her tears. Then she turned back to face the reason for her demise. The person she thought would be her companion until the end of her life, until her last breath. The person who destroyed... her entire being.

"I don't think so. How about you? Would it be a lovely sight if I turned your empire to ashes?" she asked sarcastically. He suddenly chuckled, but his chuckles turned into a sardonic laugh. "I bet that. You'll have no time to do that anyway." He shrugged, saying such horrific words without any guilt. Hearing his words only broke her further.

"You planned this all along, didn't you?" she asked again, her voice full of bitterness. "Planned?" He paused for a moment, thinking. "No. I didn't. I didn't want this at first, but you pushed me to my limit. I already warned you." He said seriously. She suddenly fumed with anger. "Curse you! You're the one who pushed me to my limits. I already told you my reason yet you didn't listen. My child even died. Your own flesh and blood. He died, if only you had helped him. If only you hadn't prioritized your mistress first. But I guess he's lucky enough to be freed from the grasp of his heartless father." The woman spoke with a calm tone, though pain and bitterness were still evident in her voice.

The man stood there, unable to speak at first. Pain was evident in his eyes for a moment. But after a minute passed, he suddenly unsheathed his sword. His eyes flickered with coldness as he stared at her. The woman was no longer surprised when her husband suddenly pointed the sword at her. She scoffed and sighed softly.

She quickly used her powers to deflect her husband's attack. But as time went on, she struggled to block his strikes. She was gradually weakening. She took a step back, but it seemed she had finally lost all her luck.

Unexpectedly, she accidentally stepped into the void. Her eyes widened when she realized it. It was too late to discover. She lost her balance. Now, she could only see herself falling from the very high tower. She didn't even catch a glimpse of her husband. He didn't have time to save or even look at her. But what could she expect? He was heartless.

Knowing it was already her end, she closed her eyes. She surrendered and accepted it. Her entire empire had fallen along with their Empress—herself.

On the other side, he stood in place, like a statue. He couldn't move at first. He was dazed, and when he returned to reality, realization washed over him. His wife had just fallen. He rushed over quickly. It was too late. He saw her falling, her veil blown by the wind, revealing her face. She looked like a goddess. Her white locks shone brightly under the moonlight. When he saw her calm face, he already knew it. His wife had accepted her defeat, her death, her tragic fate.

He stood frozen in place. He watched her fall to the ground. Unbelievably, the woman did not shatter despite the force of her impact. Her body remained whole, but without her soul. It was as if she were peacefully sleeping until she was suddenly consumed by flames and turned to ash, blown away by the wind.

The man could not speak. Not even when his companions arrived. His lover, the saintess, gently walked towards him. She was about to touch his pale cheeks when he raised his hand, stopping her.

"Let's go." Everyone shivered. The aura of playfulness around him vanished. His face turned stoic. His gaze was cold, colder than usual. His eyes were lifeless. His voice was filled with seriousness. Gone. The playful and gentle Emperor had vanished. Vanished like the life and body of his wife, the Empress.
