Just as I walked into the living room, I found grandma having tea.
"Oh, Alex. What do I owe to the visit?" She asked. I've sat down opposite her and just stare at her as I try to calm my beating heart. Now that I think about it, it was strange how close the two seemed but as I look at her she doesn't seem like she's lost any sleep with Selenes disappearance.
"Where is she?" I ask.
"Who? " She asks disinterestedly.
"Selene." I say and watch as she pauses before going on like nothings wrong. She thought I wouldn't notice but I can tell her hands tremble a bit as she lifts her cup and the little breaths she makes as she tries to avoid my eyes.
"How's the investigation going?" She asks me as a way to derail my questioning like such would work on me.
"Grandma, where is she?" I insist. She finally gives up on pretending and lowers her cup to the table. She presses a botton on the table and women walk in.
Unexpectedly one of them rushes towards me and next thing I know some substance is being injected. I look towards grandma as I begin to lose consciousness.

'Why does my head feel like this?' I ask myself. I open my eyes to find lights over head. I look around and notice that I'm in the hospital and I can't remember how I got there.
My head begins to pound again and I close my eyes.
I open my eyes again and find Grandma seated next to me looking worried.
I try to sit up but she stops me. She offers me a glass of water as my throat and mouth were dry. The doctor walks in.
"Ah, I'm glad you are finally awake Mr. Black." He says. He continues on to check my vitals and asks me questions.
"Do you remember what happened?" he asked. I said no. He went on to ask me what year it was. I answered his question.
He left and grandma went with him. When she came back I asked how Grandpa is because I last remember him being in the hospital. She begins to cry and before I could ask what's going on, my parents came in with some other relatives.
"You are finally awake." dad says as he walks in. The start going into a whole play of false concern. They go into a lengthy discussion of what could have happened to me. I try to ignore them as I try to ask Grandma how grandpa is this causes people to gasp. Then I realize something is wrong.
Grandma finally stopped crying and explained how the doctor has determined that due to the accident I now have amnesia. The fact i don't remember the burial and Grandpa's death is proof enough.
I still can't believe grandpa is gone, I was hoping to see him after this as the Last thing I remembered was being in England then somehow waking up here in the hospital almost 2 years later.
As I contemplate everything, I can't help but notice the excited look on my parents face. I watch as my father slithers out of the room. I decide to ignore them like I always do but I don't know, it still concerns me.
As my family leaves, I finally get time to rest. As I sit here on my own, I can't help but feel somewhere in me that something or someone is missing. That it's not just grandpa I miss but I don't seem to remember who.
Whilst falling asleep I decided to ask grandma about it the following morning.

I watch as he walks out the room and I followhim to the corridor. I stop him before he makes any phone calls.
" We need to have a family meeting." I say to him.
He asks me when and I say tonight. We all leave the hospital and end up at the manor. I have all my children and grandchildren here with me.
"With Selene gone and Alex's memory gone too, I believe the best course of action is to ensure he moves on. Let's use this to our advantage and ensure no one... absolutely no one ever mentions Selene. Okay?" I ask everyone and they all agree.It baffles them why I'm not concerned with finding here but they still agree with me it's best shes gone.
When most people have left, I ended up remaining with my eldest son.
"It's you right?" he asked. I looked at him questioningly.
"It just seemed so convenient how he lost his memory after having visited you last week. Especially after he discovered that girl wasn't real." he states. I continue to feign ignorance until I got bored of it and smiled.
"If you were going to get rid of he either way, Why did you not just include us in your plans? but then he would have noticed we were too comfortable with the idea of her in his life." he determines on his own.
I just remain quiet letting him speculate on his own. When he finally noticed I wint be confessing to anything he just smiled whilst shaking his head and left.
I look outside the window and I think of how we'll need his friends in on the plan.
I watch as his friends leave the house. I'm mentally exhausted with all the acting and fake crying I needed to do inorder to show pain as I suggested to them, not to ever mention Selene to Alex.
The next morning I went to visit him, he tried asking questions, I managed to evade and lie to most of them. I could tell he was getting suspicious but we just needed him to forget her.
After he was discharged, we all had a huge party with some friends and family. Everyone already knew about Selene's disappearance and how we are all lying to Alex.
I watch as he talks to Kimberly Thompson, I know my granson enough to know he would never have accepted Emma, but Kim..... there's a chance.

We walked into the court room and found mother on the throne.
"Well done. I heard you did a good job on your assignment." She told us. As we continued to report many other aspects of our assignment, she finally heard enough and sent us away, calling the next ones.
My sisters and I walk into our suite to find Rose's pet cougar fighting with her panther in the lounge. This is something we are all used to, especially the part where she joins them.
