Along the path William did not come across any monsters for a long time. in fact after the fight he had with those thieves from earlier , William did not come across anyone else .
Even though William journey through the forest was smooth ,this particular predicament was a huge problem to him since if he did not find any monsters where was he supposed to get beast orbs from .
William thought that there was no point in worrying about it to much and took that time to examine his body. he still wondered how he was able to copy that guy's movement technique just by watching it be executed in front of him .
just like people who had abilities , William could also sense his body using the energy inside his body ,something like spiritual pressure. using this William realized that the amount of energy inside his body had drastically reduced but fortunately it was regenerating on its own but a t a very slow pace .
William suddenly turned his head to face a certain direction in the forest, more specifically beyond some bushes over there. He had just felt a wild fluctuation of spiritual pressure before it suddenly disappeared .
this fluctuation definitely belonged to a monster and it might just be the first monster that William have come across since he entered this forest which was quite weird . He was not ready to let it go.
quickly William jumped into the bush to pursue the unknown monster throwing caution to the wind . William wasn't quick enough and only saw something that looked like a giant worm entering the ground as if it was entering in water.
This was enough for William to establish the identity of the creature , this was an earth crawler an earth ranked magical beast with the ability to control the earth. He had read about this type of creatures in the royal library back in Frostfire city .
according to the books back in the royal library , the power of magical beasts were obviously not the same and hence categorized into different ranks namely earth , spirit , mythic ancient demigod and god being the highest . This ranks were further divided into lower , mid and upper. Their power increased with their ranking .
It was also similar to the power ranking of humans in terms of cultivation . when William stepped on the murky ground where the earth crawler had entered , he found himself rapidly sinking .
the topography rapidly changed and William saw that he was in an underground cave .
" this must be a dungeon " William concluded , dungeons were places where monsters occurred in large groups known as colonies. it didn't take long for William to spot the ran away earth crawler.
William immediately removed his sword and slashed at the head of the earth crawler , a green slimy fluid gushed out of its huge wound as it released a shriek . The earth crawler was now furious at its attacker and immediately made the earth around it to rise and form spikes .
William who had been in its attack range a moment ago was now in the air , he had leaped the moment he saw some disturbance in the earth around the earth crawler. William landed on the back of the earth crawler and stabbed his sword in the earth crawler's wound .
the earth crawler wiggled in pain and immediately died , the are above its head was its major weak point and it was advisable to attack it there . attacking anywhere else felt like you're hitting a solid wall made of rocks.
the other factor that made killing it very easy for William was that even though their speed was high they could only move in a certain direction in their top speed , changing directions was a different matter all together.
using his sword William carved the head of the earth crawler where the beast orb was thought to be and he found it , a small orb that gave of a light blue hue. William quickly stored the orb in his spatial ring and kept moving forward deeper in the cave.
William came across more earth crawlers but they were no match for him , he dealt with them quickly but surprisingly not all of them gave out beast orbs . the cave became wider and wider and William could now faintly sense the spiritual pressure of something strong but its presence was still faint and William didn't have to worry about that at the moment.

another one of those earth crawlers died under William's blade . " let me take a break first and maybe examine one of this orbs "
until now William had only been killing the earth crawlers , extracting the beast orb and then storing it in his spatial ring . from there he would move on to the next creature.
William did not store the beast orb that he acquired from the earth crawler he had just slain , instead William started to examine it closely . this orbs were formed where a creatures power accumulated over a long time and cultivators with that particular ability would then use this orbs to cultivate hence increasing their overall strength .
William's energy started to manifest on his skin , William decided to see what effects his energy had on this beast orb. the light blue hue of the beast orb slowly vanished with the passage of time and William could somehow feel connected with the earth around him.
once the orb lost all its lustre , it immediately shattered into pieces.' seems i have to use another one ' William thought when he felt that one orb wasn't enough to establish a conclusion.
just as William was about to remove another beast orb from his spatial ring , he felt a slight shift in the earth wall which he rested his back against. William wasn't sure if it was just his imagination or there rally was something inside the walls of the cave but he trusted his instincts and jumped sideways .
a second later that part of the walls collapsed with a boom as a giant earth crawler appeared in his line of sight . William wasn't sure if he could fight that thing since the spiritual pressure it gave off was very strong not like that of the earth crawlers he had faced earlier . furthermore the skin of this earth crawler looked extremely hard and gave of a dim glimmer like that of a metal.
while William was still in a dilemma of what to to , the giant earth crawler adjusted its position and moved towards William at a tremendous speed . William was not confident in a battle against this creature and decided to retreat .
William took off at top speed the way he came from " its not good to be greedy , ill just leave this one behind" William said to himself seemingly justifying his choice of not wanting to fight, he didn't dare to look back.
