"What?
You can't find the treasury of the Dog Kingdom?"
Ji Xia sat on the throne of the Dog Kingdom, with generals and officials who accompanied him in the war standing on either side, making it resemble a court assembly.
They had entered the royal palace, killed over a hundred of the Dog Kingdom's royal family, and looted almost every palace, but Rong Lu had reported that the treasury had yet to be found.
"The Silver Guard has thoroughly searched three times, finding many valuable items, and even discovering many spirit crystals secretly hoarded by the royal bloodline, yet we still can't find the treasury."
Rong Lu bowed and replied.
"The Dog Kingdom is a warlike nation, and it has surely seized many precious treasures from both the Crocodile Horn and Taicang kingdoms. It's impossible they don't have a treasury. Could there have been some oversight in the search?"
Per Xian asked.
"There was no oversight. On the third search, I personally went to look, but still found nothing."
Ji Qianqing furrowed her brows, clearly puzzled as well.
Ji Xia stood up, thinking, "The first reason I decided to launch this war was to take advantage of the war between the Dog Kingdom and Crocodile Horn, to strike a painful blow to the Dog Kingdom and avenge the grievances accumulated by Taicang over the last two hundred years."
"The second reason was to hope I could find some valuable items in the Dog Kingdom's treasury, especially enough spirit crystals to solve Taicang's food shortage. But now, I can't even find the treasury. This is a major disappointment."
He pondered for a moment, then a sudden inspiration struck him. His eyes gleamed with golden light, radiating intense heat.
Ji Xia took a deep breath and used his consciousness to communicate with the Sun Spirit Furnace. Instantly, two streams of blazing spiritual energy flowed from the furnace, entering his eyes like twin suns.
In no time, Ji Xia's vision illuminated, and tiny lights began to appear.
He shifted his gaze, and suddenly, a bright light flared up from a particular spot—this was where the Silver Guard had piled the treasures they had found from other palaces.
Ji Xia descended from the throne and approached the pile of treasures. He picked up an item with a faint glow.
"This is a spirit crystal," Ji Xia remarked.
It suddenly dawned on him—his Sun Spirit Eyes had the ability to find carriers of spiritual energy!
He placed the spirit crystal down and picked up another emerald wine cup, sensing a more concentrated spiritual energy emanating from it.
"Seems like this is a true treasure, even more valuable than a spirit crystal."
"The more concentrated the spiritual energy, the more precious the item."
"How many more mysteries does the Sun Spirit Furnace hold for me to explore?"
Ji Xia stroked his chin thoughtfully. "When I focus my mind, it grants my eyes extraordinary abilities. But what if I want other powers?"
Suddenly, Ji Xia's eyes brightened, and he mentally communicated with the Sun Spirit Furnace again, murmuring, "Control spirit!
Soul capture!"
The furnace remained unresponsive. Ji Xia sighed inwardly. "Looks like the furnace doesn't always give me what I ask for."
Ji Qianqing noticed his contemplation and asked, "Has the Lord found the treasury?"
Ji Xia put the spirit crystal down, stood up, and his eyes glowed with a blazing light. His resolve clear, he immediately left the palace to continue searching.
Countless hidden lights appeared before his Sun Spirit Eyes, making them visible for the first time. Ji Xia moved his gaze, memorizing each location to send the Silver Guard to retrieve the treasures later.
He circled the entire palace, searching every hall and tent, finding a large haul, but still, the treasury's location remained unknown.
"What's going on?
Could it be that the Dog Kingdom really has no treasury?"
A rare hint of disappointment appeared on his face.
Ji Qianqing, seeing his expression, was about to comfort him when Ji Xia let out a soft exclamation, his gaze now turning toward the throne at the top of the palace.
The throne was located in the northernmost part of the palace. Ji Xia had circled the palace but hadn't looked toward the throne. Now, through his Sun Spirit Eyes, he saw many lights shimmering just below the throne. Among them was one particularly bright light, as dazzling as a massive lantern.
Ji Xia smiled knowingly. "So that's it." He walked toward the throne, circling it several times as everyone watched, puzzled.
Ji Qianqing immediately understood. "Could the treasury be beneath the throne?"
Ji Xia nodded. "Indeed, it's under the throne."
Rong Lu, seeing Ji Xia's confident answer, expressed excitement. "I'll gather the Silver Guard and have them dig up the ground!"
Ji Xia stepped back, gently shaking his head. "No need."
A powerful wave of spiritual energy suddenly surged in Ji Xia's hand. He flipped his wrist, and a massive spiritual handprint descended from the sky, landing heavily on the area where the throne had been.
"Boom..." A deafening sound echoed as the handprint struck the throne, instantly reducing it to ashes. The print then hit the ground, sending dust flying, and a gust of wind spread out.
Per Xian and Ji Qianqing felt the intense spiritual energy carried in the air and were secretly alarmed.
"The Lord's cultivation is truly unfathomable. He's clearly just a Nine Heaven Realm expert, yet his spiritual energy is so thick and solid. If we're talking about the density of spiritual energy, even my Divine Wheel cultivation can't compare."
Ji Qianqing secretly thought.
"We both share the same Nine Heaven Realm cultivation, but I always considered myself among the best in this realm. Today, seeing the Lord's abilities, I realize that even though my cultivation isn't weak, there's still an enormous gap compared to those who truly stand out."
As the dust and air settled, everyone looked toward the top of the palace, where the throne had once been. They now saw a large hole, five feet wide, left by Ji Xia's attack. The hole was pitch black, and nothing could be seen inside.
Ji Xia's golden eyes flared again, and the view immediately brightened. Inside the hole was a space two yards long and one yard high, with walls made of brick. Four sides of the room were neatly lined with display cabinets filled with rare treasures, each giving off a faint glow.
A smile spread across Ji Xia's face as he stepped forward and jumped into the hole.
Ji Qianqing and Per Xian followed closely behind, jumping in after him.
Inside the hole, Ji Xia's Sun Spirit Eyes immediately locked onto the brightest and most eye-catching light he had seen earlier.
The light radiated intense spiritual energy, and Ji Xia couldn't help but feel intrigued. Ignoring the other treasures, he moved toward the blinding golden glow.
Upon closer inspection, he found that the light was coming from a seemingly ordinary pair of scissors, carelessly placed at the bottom corner of the display cabinet.
Ji Xia picked up the scissors and examined them closely. He found that one of the scissor handles was broken, leaving just one.
The scissors emanated an overwhelming spiritual energy, as though many spirit crystals had been gathered in one place. The energy was far more concentrated than what Ji Xia had experienced in the Snow Mountain.
He was secretly shocked and thought for a moment. As he withdrew his Sun Spirit Eyes, the spiritual energy fluctuations and the aura instantly disappeared, as if they had never existed.
Ji Xia's curiosity grew, and he suddenly noticed three characters inscribed on the right blade of the scissors.
"Dragon Beard Scissors."
