Chapter 1 - beginning of a reincarnation

---

A New Dawn

In a small apartment during the early hours of the morning, a dim lamp cast a soft glow over a modest room. On the bed lay a boy with messy hair: Izuku Midoriya. Though, strictly speaking, he wasn't just a boy anymore.

"I'm a reincarnated soul," he thought, staring at the ceiling with glassy eyes. "It's easy to figure out. I remember my past life perfectly... and now, I know I'm in this kid's body."

He paused, closing his eyes to steady himself. "I just hope that deity holds up their end of the deal."

That deity had granted him his request: the physiology of a Kryptonian. Why Superman? The reasoning was simple: who wouldn't want to be a symbol of hope, someone nearly invincible?

Izuku—or rather, the man reincarnated into him—sat up on the bed and scanned the room. It was humble, filled with posters of heroes and a small collection of action figures neatly arranged on a shelf. Among it all, a stack of notebooks stood out, meticulously organized on a desk.

He got up, grabbed one of the notebooks, and scribbled on the cover with a black marker:

"Journal to Become Superman."

He flipped to the first page and began jotting down:

Day 1

Name: Izuku Midoriya

Age: 12 years

Height: 130 cm (4'2")

Weight: 40 kg (88 lbs)

Observations:

So far, I don't feel any of Superman's typical powers. Just an overwhelming energy, like my body's waiting for something. Maybe I need more exposure to sunlight to awaken my abilities.

---

Putting the pen down, he turned off the lamp and lay back in bed. Staring at the ceiling, a determined smile spread across his face.

"I want to be a symbol of hope... not some edgy version that only inspires fear."

With that thought, he closed his eyes and drifted into a deep sleep.

A New Day Begins

Light knocks on the door were followed by a gentle, timid voice.

"Izuku, time to wake up. It's morning."

The boy stretched and replied calmly, "Yeah, Mom. I'll be up in a second."

As he got out of bed, he noticed something peculiar: he felt brimming with energy, as if he'd had ten extra hours of sleep. His mind seemed sharper, too, recalling every detail of both lives with startling clarity—even trivial moments and entire conversations.

"Photographic memory... Could that be another effect of the sun?"

Grinning, he dressed in his school uniform and tucked the notebook into his bag. Stepping out of his room, he found his mother in the kitchen, preparing breakfast. Inko Midoriya greeted him with her usual warmth.

"Izuku, how was your day yesterday?"

"Good, Mom. The usual," he replied with a calmness he hadn't shown since he was small.

Inko raised an eyebrow, noticing the shift. Is he finally overcoming his insecurities? she thought, serving breakfast.

After finishing his meal, Izuku stood up from the table and announced, "Mom, I'll walk to school today."

"Alright, but be careful, sweetheart."

First Changes

On his way, Izuku stopped by a nearby park and sat on a bench. Taking out his notebook, he started writing:

Day 2

Time: 6:30 AM

Name: Izuku Midoriya

Age: 12 years

Height: 130 cm (4'2")

Weight: 40 kg (88 lbs)

Abilities:

Photographic memory.

Observations:

My body feels hypercharged, full of energy, like I just ran a marathon but didn't tire out. I've also noticed improved cognitive skills. Hopefully, more sunlight exposure will unlock additional powers.

He tucked the notebook back into his bag and continued walking to school.

Arriving at the classroom, Izuku was hit with a wave of the boy's memories: the teasing, the humiliation, and above all, Bakugo. The class prodigy and his most relentless bully. But this time, Izuku didn't feel scared.

"Oi, Deku!" Bakugo yelled as he entered. Before Izuku could react, an explosion hit his shoulder. Then another struck his chest. And another.

Izuku staggered back a step, but something felt off: there was no pain. The explosions didn't hurt him.

"Invulnerability," he thought, almost smiling.

Bakugo froze, noticing that Izuku was still standing, untouched, his uniform singed but his body unharmed.

"What the hell?" Bakugo growled.

Before things could escalate, the teacher entered the room, taking in the scene.

"Bakugo, sit down! Midoriya, get a spare uniform and return to class!"

Izuku nodded without a word and took his seat. While the rest of the class focused on the lesson, only one thought consumed him:

I'm going to become this world's Superman. And nothing, not even someone like Bakugo, will stop me.
