While running in fear, Ray heard the roar of engines. Surprised, he looked around in all directions, but to no avail.
"Did I just imagine it?"
Thinking his mind was playing tricks on him, he continued running. However, the mysterious creatures did not stop; they relentlessly pursued him. The engine roars grew louder and louder. Looking up at the sky, Ray saw an entire battalion of fighter jets.
The creatures suddenly stopped running, seemingly waiting to see what would happen. The planes began firing their machine guns, but to no effect. The pilots, realizing the futility of bullets, launched several missiles.
At that moment, the creatures, to Ray's amazement, began speaking in an unknown language. The missiles hit their targets, and this time, they seemed to work. Visibly shaken, Ray stopped and wondered:
"Am I saved, or am I just dreaming?"
Without much time to hope, another deafening explosion shook the ground. Suddenly, tens of thousands of fireballs illuminated the sky, temporarily turning night into day. Everyone looked up in awe, their faces a mix of surprise and despair.
"Am I dreaming?" murmured Ray, completely overwhelmed by fear.
At that moment, a man in a military uniform placed a hand on his shoulder and said: "Kid, come quickly, the city is being evacuated!" Ray, stunned, asked: "What the hell is happening?" "We don't know either. Now hurry up! There's no time to waste." "D-don't worry, I'm coming..."
As he followed the soldier, Ray began to see dozens of military vehicles transporting people. Looking more closely, he noticed injured people, covered in blood. The sight shocked him so much that he fainted on the spot.
"Hey, kid, are you alright?" "Huh… what's going on?" Ray asked, regaining consciousness. "You fainted before getting into the army's evacuation vehicle," replied a man he had seen earlier. "Where am I now?" "You're in one of the evacuation trucks."
Still surprised, Ray looked out the window. All he could see was smoke, craters, and tanks. "What's happening?" he asked again. "We're not exactly sure either," the man responded. "But according to the military, we're being invaded by some creatures they're calling 'humanoids.' It seems they arrived on Earth from inside asteroids that fell all over the globe."
