Chapter 4 - Exhibit

Chapter 4: Exhibit

"Did I startle you?" General Danielle asked, she was dressed in a blue gown, that almost looked like royalty. She was very beautiful, had the family brown hair, and a leadership aura. Though her presence felt friendly. She was a very prominent individual who reported directly to the President, but on this occasion, she seemed to be biased by the fact that the event was too important to be disturbed by indigents who had just infiltrated the center.

"No...no, you didn't. We just didn't see you coming. What do you want?" Sven asked without hesitation, while Stefan straightened up his position in respect.

"You just had my attention, what exactly do you want your uncle to know nothing about?" Danielle asked inquisitively.

"None of your business, as the General, don't you have something else to do today of all days?" Master Sven asked arrogantly.

"Yes, yes, I do. The first batch of volunteers sent a week ago are two days late" She took a deep breath, "The second batch sent yesterday has not arrived and I'm not sure they will, and guess what?" She looked blankly at both of them as if they were the answer she searched for.

"What?" Sven and Stefan asked uniformly.

"Your dear Uncle Malgrim Snape is issuing an impromptu third batch, right now" She gave a psychotic laugh and continued, "The volunteers escaped somehow and are in the facility running, Yes I know, if that's what you're trying to hide from your Uncle, good luck, he's about to find out in a few minutes." This was the queue both Sven and Stefan needed to hasten their search if they didn't want to be scapegoats to the President whose anger knew no boundaries.

"Stop right th- ahhhhh" The officer cried out before falling. Dustin wasted no time bringing down the officer who just breached them.

"Aiden, you OK?" He asked Aiden as they kept on moving.

"Yeah I'm fine, fine" he replied. They had lost a few of their company on the way, leaving just four members surviving. The crew made their way higher in the building, as the whole facility was on alert now, every exit now had an officer on guard, and patrolling squads marched through the hallway. However, every move was made lightly so as not to scare the rich audience below.

"We need to keep off the hallways, don't you think they have cameras everywhere?" Aiden asked

"I don't see any though, shit! someone's coming, hide!" Dustin ordered. They watched as a few armed men jogged past them talking to their communicators. The crew let the men disappear out of sight before they moved on with their journey.

"It's okay" Aiden tried to assure a young girl in their crew, she looked like she was about to break into tears. She only nodded. Just then the crew came to a hall junction, with nowhere in mind to run to. They could hear the uniform sound of boots approaching from literally everywhere. This was surely the end for the crew.

"Psst... in here!" Gwendolyn seemed to appear from nowhere.

Dustin in fright pulls out the blaster, armed and ready to use the weapon on her but Aiden stops it at the last minute.

"Dustin, I know her. Is it okay?" Gwendolyn was holding an open secret door that looked like a normal wall in the facility.

"That's the General's niece! Are you serious?"

"Are you getting in or not?" Gwendolyn asked holding the door. Dustin gave a distrustful look before they all hopped in.

"Where are they?" President Malgrim Snape asked, his expression was stoic and unchanged. In the room, the General, his nephew, and Stefan all resided.

"They are still in the building Uncle, it's not a problem we can sti-", Sven tried to talk but was cut off by the President.

"I don't know why you needed to call me out here, I have an audience to attend to. Go to the streets and fetch me more, at the end of the day they'll come out of their hiding places and you do the rest." He turned to leave but General Danielle called him back.

"I want you to watch this camera footage." General Danielle showed President Snape the camera footage of the previous event of Aiden and the officer.

"And so"? He asked, arrogance heard from the tone in his voice.

"You don't get it do you?" She zoomed in, "Isn't he familiar to you"? President Snape looked a bit surprised.

"Isn't that the kid who tried to enter here? Look, if he got in, how's that my problem? Just do whatever you ha-"

"He is Ragner's son"

President Snape was jolted for a while before he composed. "And what's that supposed to mean, that's not possible" General Danielle nodded her head "How do you even know?"

The General turned to Sven and gave a leading hand.

"His name is Aiden Noah uncle," Sven said obliged to respond to the General's order.

President Snape looked confused before he started to laugh, he brushed a licker of sweat from his forehead.

"You see, his name is Noah, not Prime, he's not him. For crying out loud Danielle, don't play this prank anymore."

The general walked up to his face, "Sometimes, I wonder if you think with the organ in your head, Ragner's wife's last name was Noah dumbass."

"You know you all were just on an outcome-less escape?" Gwendolyn proclaimed. She led them through a slightly dark inner room which seemed to connect throughout the whole facility.

"You have no plans to help us escape?" Dustin asked impatiently, "I'm gonna use this thing on her Aiden!" Dustin was impatient, he and his crew were being led by someone he hardly knew and had to trust simply based on Aiden's words. 'What if this was a trap to bring them directly to the President.' Dustin preparing for engagement in case of an encounter pulls out the blaster ready for action as they walk deeper into the hallway.
