Chapter 15 - Chapter 15: Mon

"Hey, pick me up! I cannot move my single cell," the Head said as he lay on the ground.

"Don't go near him," Akira warned.

"Why would I?" Mel replied, rolling her eyes.

"Pick me up, you goons! I am not a monster," the Head protested.

"Akira, why are you scared? Punch him with your fire fist," Raz's voice said, echoing within Akira's head.

"Huh?" Akira looked confused.

"Yeah, go fight him," Mel ordered, crossing her arms.

Akira hesitated but eventually nodded. He ran towards the bodiless figure, his fiery fist igniting as he closed the distance.

"What are you doing?" the Head cried out, his eyes widening.

Akira landed a fiery punch square on the Head's face, smashing him into the ground.

"Did I kill it?" Akira asked, stepping back to inspect his work.

"No, I'm still alive, idiot," the Head replied, his voice muffled from beneath the dirt.

"What the heck!" Akira shouted, frustration growing.

"Move aside, Akira," Mel said, hauling a massive rock.

Akira quickly stepped out of the way as Mel brought the rock down with a thunderous crash, burying the Head completely.

"Everything is under control," Mel declared confidently.

"Nothing is under your control," a voice grumbled from beneath the rock.

"Why is this thing not dead?" Akira barked, his flames flaring in annoyance.

"As I said, he's a monster," Mel replied.

"I am not!" the voice retorted from under the rock.

"Akira, Mel, just listen. Take him out," Raz suggested calmly.

"Why?" Akira asked, skeptical.

"Let's see what he has to say. He's just a head, after all," Raz reasoned.

"Okay, let's do it," Mel agreed, shoving the rock aside. Akira bent down and picked up the talking Head.

"Did you lose some of your brain cells? How can I be a monster?" the Head snapped.

"And you lost your whole body," Raz shot back.

"So, who are you, Mr. Head?" Mel asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Me? Well, I don't have any answers to that question," the Head replied with a sigh.

"What? And why were you locked up in that chest?" Akira asked, curiosity replacing his frustration.

"I don't know that either. And why is your voice changing, brat?" the Head asked, narrowing his eyes.

"Huh?" Akira's confusion deepened

"Now we need to explain our story" Raz muttered.

"See? Now it's a girl's voice. What's your gender, brat?" the Head asked, flabbergasted.

"You idiot! My gender is male. The voice you're hearing is Raz. She got stuck inside me due to some twist of fate!" Akira growled, flames flickering around his fists.

"Got stuck? What were you two doing?" the Head taunted, a smirk forming on his face.

"Shut up!" Akira barked, his patience snapping.

"Guys, please stop arguing," Mel chimed in. "Akira's case is different. Now, you tell us everything about you, Head."

"Okay," the Head said.

"Let's start with your name," Mel suggested.

"I don't know," the Head admitted.

"What? Never mind. Tell us about your life," Mel urged.

"My life, huh? Well, when I opened my eyes, I saw only darkness. I couldn't move anything—just my eyeballs. That was until you brats found me and took me out of that chest. After coming out, I realized I had been trapped in there for who knows how long."

"How did you even end up in that chest, Head?" Akira asked.

"I said I don't know," the Head repeated. "But one thing is clear: I had a past life, and someone did this to me."

"What?" Mel asked, intrigued.

"That's the only explanation I can think of," the Head said grimly.

"So, now what are you going to do?" Akira asked.

"I think we should stop calling him Head. We should at least give him a name," Mel suggested.

"What? Why bother? Just do me a favor," the Head said, his tone serious.

"What favor?" Akira asked, narrowing his eyes.

"Kill me," the Head said flatly.

"What?!" Akira and Mel screamed in unison.

"You heard me. I want to die. In this state, I can't do anything but talk. If someone did this to me, they probably wanted me to suffer. Just end it," the Head pleaded.

"How can we?" Mel hesitated.

"A few minutes ago, you were trying to kill me. Just do it the same way. It's my last wish," the Head insisted.

"Okay then," Akira said reluctantly.

"Okay," Mel agreed, though her voice wavered.

The Head was tied to an oak tree. Mel stood a few steps away, while Akira faced the Head, his fiery fist glowing brightly.

"Now, I'll punch you to death," Akira said grimly.

"Be careful. You might burn the tree," Raz warned in a soft voice.

Akira unleashed a flurry of fiery punches, but the Head remained unscathed.

"What?" Akira said, panting. "Why isn't this working?"

"Your punches hurt, but they're too weak," the Head said smugly.

"You just wait," Akira growled.

Mel piled firewood around the Head, and Akira ignited it with his flames. The fire roared, but the Head was still intact when it died down.

"Come on! Try something else," the Head said, grinning from the ashes.

"We've used everything we had. It's like you're immortal," Akira said, exasperated.

"Immortal, huh?" the Head mused, chuckling darkly. "I get it now. I'm cursed to live like this. That man must have been clever."

"What man?" Mel asked.

"I don't know. But do me another favor: take me with you. Help me remove this curse. Then you can kill me," the Head said.

"What?" Akira exclaimed.

"Don't worry about me. I don't need food or anything," the Head reassured them.

"hey we can't cause, we have our problems too and besides we have to always carry you around," Akira said

Mel touched the Head's cheek, and he began to float.

"Whoa! I'm flying!" the Head exclaimed.

"With my magic, we can take him anywhere," Mel said with a grin.

"Fine. But he is your responsibility" Akira said.

"yes, now should we Name him," Mel asked

"What will you call me" The head said

"I have a funny one," Mel said, smirking. "We'll call him Mon."

Akira burst out laughing. "What kind of name is that?"

"Very creative, Mel," Raz said dryly.

"Thank you," Mel replied proudly.

"Okay, Mon. Welcome to the party," Akira said, still chuckling.
