A month has passed since the transference event, the commonfolk were none the wiser, this was because of the Weltenbastion and the efforts of the Republic's Special Ministry of Public Enlightenment and Propaganda to cease all external communication, afterall, what use were they to humans? That was the question that has been answered a long long time ago, they had no purpose.
And to see Earth riddled with filth like that made the founders of this country disgusted, and so they commissioned the Weltenbastion, declared the country a Kill-On-Sight Zone and was largely left alone until the Great Revenance War and the succeeding war against the Ghrollic Imperium and the war against the Federated States of Juhg.
Well much has happened now, and now they may be able to find more humans in this large island the Republic was plopped on.
Of course, it was without it being said that all humans weren't allowed to leave the Weltenbastion, so they heavily relied on robots and automated machines to do everything from farming and mining to extermination of wanderers and simple surveillance and recon.
This was the norm, as man sat behind the Weltenbastion, while the steel men toiled.
"Legion Five has fully been assembled now" Lead Engineer of the Legion Five Maintenance Company, Khrone reported to Control.
"Roger that, sending directives now, clear the area" The bored voice acknowledged and stated bluntly.
"Wilco" Khorne switches the call to a group call "Control wants us out, clear the area" A bunch of words of affirmation channelled through.
Ten minutes later and the Legion was on the way.
January 9, 4123
War Room Black, Darrumburgh Palace
Men in white and green military uniforms stood at attention, most of them had quite the number of medals on their chest, these were the finest generals the Republic of Albia had, and they were here to plan something big.
The door slid open quietly, letting the air out before shortly closing again, letting two men in.
"Thank you all for coming today, so as you all may know in the email and the files attached to it that we are currently plopped in a island-type landmass, roughly the double the size of former Hawai'i Island." Hoffhell walked along the table, making his way to his spot.
"With that being said, the Republic's circumstances with all of those pesky animals and freaks are no more" The generals and various other officials murmur amongst themselves.
"Has his Imperial Majesty considered expansion? With the curfews and halving our defenses, we'd like to restore power by any means necessary" A general poised the question.
"Yes, General Jurius, the government has made sure to double extraction of strategic resources once we've found a deposit, but the lands around the Weltenbastion are barren, to get these minerals we'd have to replace the interplanetary mining stations we've lost in which we are currently in the process of replacing" The Prime Minister, Braun Kirkmann, stated, The seasoned general expressed his acknowledgement with a nod and lounged in his seat.
Hoffhell cleared his throat "The objectives of this expedition are simple.
First
Locate suitable deposits of strategic minerals
Second
Exterminate or Apprehend the native species for study
Third
"Maintain our status as a solitary nation" He paused, letting everyone read the list as he's read out.
"Any suggestions are open of course, make a plan for the operations that satisfies atleast one objective and try not to waste our resources, pull back when necessary" Hoffhell said, letting the generals do the mental gymnastics.
The generals went to work immediately, suggestions were thrown about, there were even some who suggest reintroducing the Cyclops Spider Tank, a 3rd Generation Mechanical Spider Tank used in the War of Revenance, it has a light armored chassis, a 250mm smoothbore autocannon at the top of the chassis as its main weapon, twin 30mm machine guns as its sidearms just under the chassis and two hypersonic blades attached at the frontsides of the chassis with adjustable grappling hooks for extreme terrain traversing.
"Although it is an older generation, it was cheap to manufacture, highly mobile in the hands of a good remote operator, and is modular, meaning parts could be swapped out in the middle of combat with little issue." A general suggests as he highlighted the positives of it with the electronic display and a minature holographic image of it.
"Yes, although it is acceptable, we need to be thorough with it" The general who suggested earlier scoffed
"That's the whole point of using the cyclops, its mobile and light so it can circle back immediately" He claims.
"Wouldn't the Killmongers be a better choice instead? Why settle for something that requires maintenance every hour?"
The Killmonger Flying Tank is a 4th Flying Spider Tank, similar to the Cyclops Spider Tank in design, it uses the same chassis but it has more sloped armor, it has better grappling abilities and it has super sharp feet, it has overall better terrain traversing capacity compared to the Cyclops, although bulkier it makes up for it with the addition of retractable propellers, capable of generating enough lift for the Killmonger to fly at an altitude of over ten thousand feet.
"A generational upgrade to the Cyclops, I believe the Killmonger is the better choice for a lightweight, all-terrain armored vehicle, this matches the needs for it better than the Cyclops albeit at a pretty hefty price" Hoffhell watches the opposition again.
"Well the Cyclops is more fuel-efficient, we can't expect airdrops from the NADF that often without a proper escort, which equals more fuel to burn at shorter intervals compared to the Cyclops" His gaze shifts to the other general.
"Well in this case we might as well get cargo carriers too, they may only have a 15mm machinegun as its main weapon but it doesn't require gas like the DOG carriers"
DOG carrier or the Dynamic Omnidirectional Gear carrier, these are large tracked or four-legged robots that uses a labled frequency to automatically go to the source, it also works as a tracker for missing people, bait for military purposes and transport of wounded when ambulances are at full capacity.
Seeing the laxness of the other general, he decides to finish this "So we agree on the use of Killmongers and DOG Carriers yeah?" A loud vocal response of "Yes" echoed all around the room.
"Now that we've decided on Killmongers and DOG Carriers, let's start on our infantry composition" Hoffhell declares, immediately switching the roster from before with a roster of bipedal and tracked robots.
"For grunt work, I suggest we use Androids for this" A general declares as the category of Androids was picked, switching the roster from the different types of general infantry bots to the Android infantry.
"The reason we'd want to use our Androids is so that we can seamlessly blend into human settlements, maybe countries too if theres such a thing beyind this island" The generals around the one who suggested it all agreed with different tones of approving grunts.
"Well wouldn't it be more ideal to use an older generation of Androids, given how fragile Android frames are? I mean talking about cost-effective and we use what's basically a frawnier version of a human?" The opposition argued.
"Well what we are looking for is subterfuge, espionage and a jack-of-all trades robot, a refurbished legion generation Android is ideal for that, especially with how widespread its use was back in the Second Revenance War" The proposition side of the argument claimed.
"Well what about armaments when subterfuge isn't a deciding factor? Infiltration-type Androids aren't meant to take on grunt work, other models in the legion generation are armored well enough for its time, yes, but that defeats your purpose of subterfuge" The opposition said.
"Well we can just add both of that into the expeditionary force" The proposition argued, which the opposition finally conceded.
After countless murmurs between the two parties, they finally concluded the type of infantry.
A little over three hours and the meeting had concluded just before midnight.
"So to go over everything, we will send out five expeditionary legions, Killmongers for armored support, DOG carriers for troop transport and fast attack vehicles, infantry will be primarily composed of the infiltration-type legion generation androids or the Fauxhuman IIIs and multipurpose-type legion generation androids or the PzAE I (Panzerautomn Einheit I), air support would consist of Sturmfalke X-88 Autonomous VTOL Strikecrafts and Four Graf Zeppelin-Class Floating Carriers" Hoffhell paused, gauging everyone's reactions as he listed.
"We have no objections, though employing four Graf Zeppelins is a bit extreme for mobile command centers." General Friede said, but he was dismissed by Hoffhell.
"This world must know of our superiority, if there are observers that is, that's all there is to it" Everyone agrees enthusiastically.
Present Day
Weltenbastion Underground Gate One, Rally Point Gabriel
"Legion One and Two have been sent out already, prepare the next legions!"
"Legion Three has embarked, no unusuals, moving onto Legion Four"
"Units L4-121 has minor damage from transport, requesting replacement unit!"
The hustle and bustle of the large cavernous facility was a secret to the public, citizens have largely been left out of the dark to the going-ons of the outside world, why should they care about the outside anyways? The Ministry of Citizen Morale and Enlightenment had the painstakingly stressful job of making sure no news EVER made it into the Empire.
"Take a break, Johann, Engineer Bots are here" A middle-aged man called out to a younger man, both of them shared the same features of white hair, blue eyes and ghostly white skin.
"Oh fucking finally! I was wondering what was taking so long" He was relieved as he packed his things quickly, stuffing his tools into his toolbox and walked with his senior.
"The Empire really loves sending these guys out huh? Well it's for the best I guess" Johann commented, watching his replacements finish what he started with maximum efficiency.
The entire facility kept the motion going as conveyors from numerous underground facilities and warehouses worked to deliver the outdated models out, a total of over a hundred thousand Legion Generation Androids have been dispatched, with thousands more on the way.
Such was the efficiency and deep stores of the Neunseen Empire, although small in size, they relied on their economic and military strength to fell any hostile elements, a testament to the grand interconnected structure of this nation which was all thanks to numerous officials and emperors before Hoffhell.
"Ah! Found you! HQ wants a report, Sir Jameson!" A subordinate called out to the pair who were making their way to a breakroom, the older engineer turned to the source of the voice and sighed.
"Looks like HQ is calling, I'll catch you later Johann" He pats the back of his tired friend and leaves.
Outside of the Weltenbastion
Just three kilometers away was the Weltenbastion, in all of its glory, it towered over everything in the island, with multiple defense systems capable of defending from any and all threats in the conventional sense.
Just as the peace and quiet wastes around the wall stayed, the ground shook ferociously for a minute, a large rectangular patch of wasteland sand sunk to the ground, the remains of men and beasts were disturbed as the ground under it gave way to the Androids of the Fourth Expeditionary Legion.
They all stood guard, awaiting for the platform to be lifted up again, just behind the hundreds of Androids were the Killmonger Flying Spider Tanks, its armaments raised at an angle to let it fit through the hole, the androids stood motionlessly, letting out a single sentence.
"Directives recieved, commencing operation" In an unnatural voice, automatic rifles in hand and marched in complete synchronization, no motion was wasted as they marched.
The Killmongers took flight as recon for the infantry, their propellers spun from zero to five hundred RPM in under a second, causing nearby leaves, sand and grass to fly or sway violently.
Then just a few meters away, a larger patch of sand sunk, letting out the infamous Floating Carrier, the Graf-Zeppelin Class Floating Carrier.
This was a carrier platform carrying a capacity of seventy-eight Sturmfalk X-88s, fourty Luftpanther Fast Attack Autonomous Helicopters and a complement of six-thousand personnel, it is triple the size of a Gerald R. Ford Class Carrier back in the Third World War, with two mini-nuclear fission turbines and a main nuclear fission turbine, it generated just enough lift to fly at an altitude of around ten to twelve-thousand kilometers above sea-level.
"Simply amazing, the sight of these relics" A guardsman commented as the Havbard left the landing site, its massive size has left an impression on anyone who saw it, it was also intended for propaganda and morale boosting, but with its slow speed and awful fuel efficiency, it never left the ten-thousand kilometer range of the unmanned refueling stations around the Weltenbastion.
"When do you think the Emperor is gonna make the announcement?" One of the guardsmen asked his comrade.
"I'd say pretty soon, y'know?" He left his answer at that, his eyes wander to the sight of the Havbard.
30 Minutes Later
The contrast between the soil of this island and the radioactive sand back at the city was as if you were asked to identify between a mouse to an elephant, a stark difference in appearance.
The androids marched along the way as Killmonger Spider Tanks used its massive rotors to fly high above the already towering trees, the gigantic forest that has surrounded the Nuenseen Empire was a great cover and resource, already, the brightest minds of the Empire used samples from the androids for study, research was done on multiple plant samples, bugs and woodland critters were being trapped and sent back, causing delays for the expeditionary forces, there are five massive legions and constant drone reconnaissance.
"Unit L4-PZAE1-5061 spotted movement at Sector HET-09, investigating" A PzAE I android raised its in-built 7.5x40mm MGX-28 'Raubtier'.
Soon more PzAE Is joined as they approached the sighting. Expertly weaving through thick bushes and shrubbery, making as little noise as possible.
Their in-built thermal vision tracked the bipedal thing walking along the treeline until finally.
"Gurg?" The androids immediately fired tranquilizers at the thing, its movements now sluggish, it could hardly lift its two feet as the sedative took effect in an instant.
"Small green bipedal animal... Secured" The group took the thing back to the Odin Graf-Zeppelin Class Floating Carrier.
"Spotted large bipedal" That same android spoke, dropping the green thing gently on the grass as its fellow androids followed.
"Capturing new target"
The Imperical Institution of Medical Science and Technology
Viewing Chamber 1
Febuary 10, 4123
A day has passed since the expeditionary legions were sent out, and oh boy did they deliver quite a number.
Hundreds of Biomedical Researchers, various professors and doctors watched as a team in full hazmat suits came close to the first specimen.
Everyone besides the team watched from an elevated platform, glass covered the area between the viewing room and the surgeons table.
"For the first specimen of the day which has been carefully delivered at a record time by our Republic's finest androids, we've uncovered a new type of unevolved pig." The surgeon explained, his voice echoed through the room as speakers played his voice.
"The lead surgeon is I, Doctor Harold Fritz, I am an alumni of the Imperical Institution of Medical Science and Technology, with a masters degree in Medical Science, Surgery and Medicine, holder of the Emperor's Golden Leaf and founder of the Irollian College of Medicine, joined by me is Doctor Anne Gerard, Doctor Edsel Holland, Doctor Ersel Strauss and finally Doctor Ulfric Wolff, all are holders of the Emperor's Golden Leaf." The audience claps, knowing that the operation was going to be done by professionals in their field.
Large flat screens played the live viewing to everyone, letting them see the green bipedal animal.
"As you can see in the live footage shown, the specimen is of a height of a human child, many scratches on its head, upper torso and arms suggest a struggle though we were assured by the operators of the Fourth Legion, which was where these specimens were from were maintained and cared for with the best of its facilities during transportation to the institute" Many took great care to note the damage of the specimen as they listened to the analysis.
"Moving on" Doctor Anne took a step closer to the specimen, a retractable metal stick on her hand, she pointed to a piece of cloth.
"As we can see that our specimen has a loincloth, multiple bone knives on its belt AND it was seen with a spear before it was sedated by Legion three, it suggests that the specimen has a limited knowledge of tool-use, take note of the knives particularly" The camera zoomed in on the knives.
"They were sharpened, which is a great indicator, knowing that they aren't using the base form of a salvaged or primitive tool and instead are refining it tells us that they may have a community with different roles and purposes, though it looks to be a hunter right now, we are most excited to show our next specimen" Anne cleared her throat before moving on.
"We mustn't forget the purpose of the loincloth though, this piece of cloth tells us that maybe this specimen has a society in which general nakedness was disapproved of, meaning there may be an entire civilization of these small green animals around our beloved country" She grimaced.
Everyone did.
"Thank you for your historical analysis, Doctor Anne, now taking a look on its general appearance, we see much of the specimen is skinny, evidence of starvation may be occuring in its civilization." Murmurs among the crowd permeate, most took notes and offered their theories, but all kept a hushed tone to let Dr. Edsel Holland speak shortly after.
Now that the noise died down, he continued.
"Reasons for why this animal has evolved to have green skin have been widely debated in my department, but we believe it is an evolutionary defense, take a close look of the skin here." The camera zooms in to where Edsel pointed.
"The animal has spotted skin, though a bit faded and spontaneous in pattern, we are confident in believing the animal has traits similar to a late homonid-type of animal, the reason for the child-like appearance could be because of general starvation or a lack of a well-balanced meal in its time in the wild, our androids just spotted it hunting, hence the knives" Murmurs of agreement sounded around, nods and several claps all around the room, Edsel bowed slightly before letting Dr. Ersel Strauss and Dr. Ulfric Wolff take the stage.
Ersel was the first to speak "Thank you very much for your nutritional and evolutionary analysis Dr. Edsel"
Edsel scratched his head, flustered by the praise.
"Now then, for a live demonstration of the animal's capabilities." Ulfric nods to the nearby operator.
Suddenly the entire hall was lifted down, everyone who was inside of the demonstration area evacuated to the decontamination chamber.
Finally, after a few moments of waiting, the hall stopped, the demonstration area grew larger as the walls around it lifted up with a mechanical hiss of the hydraulics system.
Three small floating robots entered, as it flew closer to the unconscious green animal, small thin arms suddenly protruded from its back and underside, it slowly took out the tranquilizer darts and flew away.
After only ten minutes of waiting, the green animal came to, it checked its surroundings, unfamiliar, dazed and scared, it held onto its shabby stone knife and ran to a wall, its back was held against the white cold alloy wall.
"Graagh!" It screamed, though everyone was unfamilar with it.
That was when the opened area of the demonstration area lifted up a...
"Good thing we still kept this pig around" Ulfric chimed.
Dazed, confused, he searched for answers "W-What the hell is this?!?" He screamed.
What was just beyond that medical table was a grotesque looking green monster, its small build made it hard for the brown-haired man to see.
"Tsk tsk tsk, if only he had evolved like us, truly a shame he was born as a bipedal pig" Anne comments, taking great care to scrutinize every aspect of the lesser being in the demonstration area.
"P-Please! I did everything you asked! I gave you those documents! I HELPED WIN YOU THE WAR AGAINST MY COUNTRY!" He begged as the monster slowly approached.
"Ugh, the look on that thing's face" Edsel comments as the monster let out a gnarly, sinister smile, readying its knife, it lept forward with full force, the length of the jump surprised everyone in the room.
But one fatal flaw of this monster was the ingenuity of a cornered animal, the brown-haired man took the nearby intravenous pole, in that split second, his arms felt a heavy push, causing him to fall on his butt, the thing was heavy.
But the eyes of everyone around was heavier.
"Ah crap, should've expected that" Ersel shakes her head, disappointed by the results.
The pole had successfully killed the monster, the jump caused the monster to be pulled down by gravity and thanks to the angle of the jump and the pole, it had perfectly penetrated the eye of the monster, the man laid there, heaving and huffing, gasping for air as multiple, rugged-looking robots entered the room, their weapons primed and aimed.
"Don't kill the pig, we might still have some use for him" The androids tranquilized the man instead.
After a short while, everything was cleaned up.
"Sorry for that everyone, but thankfully Legion Four had brought over an ample amount of samples, so without further ado, let's resume." Harold said.
