Chapter 2 - Chapter Two: A World of Martial Might

Jihoon spent the following days meditating and practicing with the small orb of magic. The more he focused, the more he could feel the pulse of energy that flowed through the world—like veins of power beneath the surface, ready to be tapped into. The orb had grown, its size now that of a fist, glowing with intense white light. Yet despite his progress, he knew that magic alone would not be enough in this world.

Murim was a land built on power, and power was something Jihoon would need to survive. The martial artists here could summon immense strength, speed, and elemental abilities through sheer will and mastery of their bodies. A simple mage—one who couldn't defend themselves—would be a target.

He could feel the eyes of the world on him, waiting for his next move.

You must train your body as well, Jihoon, the system's voice reverberated in his mind. The path of magic may be dangerous, but you cannot forget the martial artists who dominate this world.

He sighed, reluctantly standing from his meditation spot on the cliff. His body had already been altered by the reincarnation process—stronger, faster, healthier—but there was a vast difference between being in peak physical condition and being able to face a master martial artist.

With a deep breath, Jihoon set off toward the nearest village. The system had suggested seeking out a martial artist to learn basic combat skills, and though it pained him to admit, he knew the wisdom of that advice.

The village, nestled between two towering mountains, was a quiet place, with humble wooden homes and well-tended fields. Jihoon's presence caught the attention of several villagers, and soon, whispers spread about the newcomer. He wasn't from around here, that much was clear, but they didn't ask questions. The martial world was harsh, and the strong rarely asked about the past of the weak.

He approached an older man standing near a training yard, watching as a group of young martial artists practiced with wooden swords. The man looked him over carefully before speaking.

"You look like you've got potential," the old man said. "What brings you here, boy?"

Jihoon bowed slightly, trying to hide his nervousness. "I seek to learn martial arts," he said simply.

The old man raised an eyebrow. "You must understand, learning martial arts is not like learning magic. It requires dedication, hard work, and a body capable of withstanding the strain."

Jihoon nodded. He'd heard enough stories about warriors who trained from a young age, who could break stone with their fists and summon thunder with their kicks.

"I am ready," Jihoon said.
