"When one is abandoned, one is left alone. This can happen through physical absence as well as physical presence. In fact, to be abandoned by someone who is physically present is much more crazy making. " — John Bradshaw.
The brisk air of winter breeze nudged against his thick, long black fur. Another reminder of the jacket he, carelessly, neglected to bring. The windows of the car were clouded like the heaven above them. Cold, gray, lifeless. Ever then, his heart as he met her glance. Her glance was like ones of a dragon. So fill with fire. Anger. Disgust.
He knew.
She knew.
That she was disgusted with him.
He forced him to shake the feeling off as he got inside. The car hums back to life. His gloved, his hands on the wheel. Tight.
The silence was getting deadly, agonizing. He dare not speak. Taking one more last look at the window. He drove off. Hoping, praying, the feeling of guilt will leave.

The sun shone through the deep, calm gray sky, shining upon the running down, abandoned Eggman warehouse. In some areas, it was cracked, showing that nature was reclaiming it. Old badniks parts were scattered all around the area.
Yet, it stood tall.
Tails told her to look for any clues of the whereabouts of Eggman or Infinite. The hedgehog stared up at the building, the head of her hammer resting on her shoulder as she stepped inside. Destroyed badniks scrapped around the old, ruins.
Her winter scarf pressed against her face, giving her warmth as she pushed through the cold, lifeless hallways of the warehouse. ''Come on, Amy girl, you can do it.'' She said to herself. Amy slightly jumped at the loud cash in the room in front of her, tightened her grip on the handle, and peeked her head inside. When she spotted a few badniks. With a grin, she confidently wielded her hammer and kept running.
She leaped into the air, curled into a ball and charged towards the badniks, her hammer held in front of the ball she curled herself into. In just a few moments, she sliced through the robots with ease, like a buzz-saw. She kept moving along the ground and getting faster as she went.
Her pink fur was dotted with white speckles from the opening gap in the wall, as she slammed her hammer into the robots, knocking them like they were nothing. Flickies flew out, flying high in the gray sky. ''Phew'' she huffed out, wiping the sweat from her forehead as she walked over the destroyed badniks, to the gap of the wall, stepping out into the cold.
Her tail was wagging out of excitement as she sets down her hammer, laying it near a tree.
"WHOO! I gotta do that more often!"
She stretched for a little, and quickly picked up her hammer. She was about to walk away, but immediately stopped in her tracks when she finally heard whining, if it wasn't for the fact she was alone, she wouldn't have noticed it.
Silently, Amy waited, straining to hear the pitiful sound once more. The mournful whimpers echoed from behind the building, where a solitary trash can stood. With each step she took, the cries grew more desperate and heartbreaking. Sadness washed over Amy as she pulled the bin's cover off, her eyes wide with a mix of disbelief and horror. Nestled in the trash, a small cub cried out pitifully. Amy knew she couldn't leave the helpless animal behind. Not like this.
Without hesitation, she gently wrapped the cub in her scarf and hurried towards the restoration headquarters, feeling the creature's desperate grip on her clothes and hearing its mournful cries.
One thought ran through her head.
Why, why would someone do this to a child?
When Amy finally made it to headquarters, she shoved her way inside. ''Tails! Sonic!'' She called, her behavior was causing everyone to drop what they were doing and talk among themselves. What seems like, finally, Sonic and Tails showed up.
''Ames, what is up with all the screaming-'' His voice drew off as he and Tails, both, realized the small baby in her scarf.
As more people realized, the talking grew more and more.
''Amy…, Is that…a baby'' Tails said
She couldn't hear him, everything was blocked out by the blood rushing to her ears. Her eyes on the cub curled up in her scarf.
''What am I going to do with you?'' She thought.
