Chapter 16 - Chapter 17: The Nun Raises the Flag

"Then I'll leave the house in your hands," the nun smiled as she looked at the children in front of her.

"I'll clean the bathroom!"

"I'll wash the clothes!"

The children cheerfully said to the nun.

"Don't worry, nun, I'll take care of them," Roy rubbed the fur-covered child's head, which felt much better than Pandora.

"When will you be back?" Lingling asked in confusion.

"I'll be back as soon as I finish shopping," the nun smiled at everyone, "What kind of gifts do you want?"

"Strawberry cake!" Lingling quickly shouted excitedly.

"Playing cards!" The fur-covered child grabbed Roy's hand and whispered.

"I want a martial arts set!" The long-armed child raised his hand excitedly.

The nun then looked expectantly at Roy, with the other children being secondary; the main goal was to please Roy.

"A collection of famous swords, a stack of the latest bounties, a telephone bug with a microphone installed, and a photo-taking telephone bug," Roy listed his demands, saying each item carefully to the nun.

Sigh~

The nun was on the verge of death, and since she had the chance to buy what she wanted, she wasn't going to pass it up!

After all, Roy thought, the things he wanted were not difficult to obtain at all.

"No, it can't be," Lingling looked at Roy in surprise, realizing that his list contained more than a dozen items.

"You're so greedy!" The long-armed child complained.

"Alright, anything else?" The nun looked at Roy with a doting gaze.

She thought to herself, it's just a bit of money. Selling Roy would cover only a small fraction of what she had earned.

A blood profit with no loss!

"If I had known, I would've asked for more clothes," the long-armed child regretted.

"Alright, I'm leaving now, be good at home, okay?" After hearing the other children's requests, the nun waved and turned to leave.

"If I had known, I would've asked for more types of cakes," Lingling muttered sadly, as eating less was almost unbearable for her.

"If I had known the nun would spoil me this much, I would've made a longer list," Roy sighed, speaking like a devil.

With that, Roy turned and sat down on the steps in front of the door, tucking Pandora under his arm, and flipped through a sailing knowledge book.

As everyone knows, to be a great sea king, one must learn sailing skills.

On the shimmering seaside, a World Government ship was docked, with the flag of the World Government flying in the wind.

The nun walked from afar, boarded the ship, entered the cabin, opened the wooden door, and stepped inside, closing the door behind her.

"Right on time,"

A man wearing a white mask, a white dress hat, and white clothing sat at a table and spoke to the nun.

Behind him stood two others dressed in the same manner.

"Of course, have I ever been late?" The nun said, pulling a stack of photos from her clothes and tossing them onto the table. "Let's talk business."

The masked man glanced at the photos on the table, a lock of yellow hair showing.

The nun slid her chair back and sat down. Her smile was gone, and her eyes now gleamed with a dangerous look, her lips curled in a menacing grin.

"I have some wonderful children," the nun coldly stated.

"You actually left Elbaf?" The masked man stared at the nun, slightly displeased.

They had once worked together with the nun and the navy to deceive the giants on the giant's execution grounds. The goal was to gain the giants' favor, recruit giant navy members, and get the nun to keep providing orphans for their purposes—either to train loyal Cipher Pol agents or to build an army of completely loyal navy personnel.

But now, the nun had left Elbaf.

"Because I didn't want to abandon that child!" The nun pointed to Lingling in one of the photos. "Oh, and by the way, there's another child who's also quite good!"

The masked man followed the nun's gaze and looked at the photo next to Lingling's, which showed a handsome boy holding a long sword, reading a book quietly, with Pandora beside him.

"He and Lingling have equally strong defensive abilities. Though his strength isn't as powerful as Lingling's, he's very smart, diligent, and easy to teach—more so than Lingling."

At this point, the nun began to lavish praise on Roy, hoping he would fetch a good price, just like Lingling.

After saying everything, she took out a cigarette, adopting a confident pose.

Damn!

She almost forgot—Pandora was still in Roy's hand!

Without a lighter to automatically light it, she would have to do it herself.

The nun quietly pulled a match from her clothes, lit her cigarette, and calmly looked at the masked man.

"Take your time to consider it," she said.

"By the way, Lingling was able to destroy Elbaf village and defeat giants at the age of five~"

"Roy is also impressive. When a giant's massive sword strikes him, it's like being scratched. He's smart and eager to learn—he'll easily become a fleet admiral in the future."

The masked man looked at the nun, then seriously looked at the photos of Roy and Lingling.

"But the price…"

"You don't think I can't afford it, do you?"

They stared at each other, thin wisps of white smoke rising in the air. The sunlight outside poured in through the window, lighting up one side of their bodies while leaving the other half in shadow.

They locked eyes, and the two Cipher Pol members became mere background figures. Soon, the silence was broken by the nun.

"If they join the navy, they'll eventually become 'Admirals' or 'Fleet Admirals.'

If sent to Cipher Pol, they'll become the strongest shields for the Celestial Dragons.

I have two of the finest children—one to become a fleet admiral, the other the strongest shield for the Celestial Dragons.

For you, isn't this the best deal?"

The nun stared directly at the masked man, her eyes piercing through the black holes of his mask.

After a while, the masked man glanced at the photos again. The price the nun had set was indeed a bit high.

But for these two children, he was willing to pay the price.

As noon approached, the nun returned to the Lamb's Home, smiling as she handed out the gifts to the children.

"Thank you, nun," Roy said, smiling as he accepted a package.

"No need to thank me, we're all family~!" The nun smiled brightly, naturally.

Seeing Roy and Lingling, she felt pleased.

Roy looked at the nun. Has she raised her flag now?

The nun was dealing with Cipher Pol members, for those unfamiliar with the original work:

(CP, Cipher Pol, typically numbered CP1-9, but there are also those above CP9: Cipher Pol - Aigis 0! Commonly referred to as CP0!)

They are special agents trained by the World Government, loyal to the Celestial Dragons.
