Selene's carriage soon arrived at the home of her childhood friend Fiona Carleton. It had been weeks since their last meeting due to both women being busy running their households.
Selene was helped out of the carriage by the guard whose name she learned was Lucas. He was assigned to her by Xavier's order so she planned to get close.
Lucas scanned the area for danger. Should he let something to the lady and her maid while they were in his watch then he was as good as dead. "I will do a search of the home," he informed Selene.
"Okay. I will be seated with the lady for most of the visit. You can stay near the front if you wish. I don't want to make anyone uncomfortable by having a guard near," Selene replied.
The front door opened before Agnes could knock.
"Selene," Fiona greeted her dear friend. "I have missed you so much."
