How did Selene succeed in getting Xavier to marry her?
Gabriel was certain his mother heard the news wrong. Selene was only staying with Xavier at the moment. Nothing about her relationship with that man was real unless she had gotten close to Xavier during the six months her husband was away.
"What if she fills his head with nonsense about us and he comes after us? She's not going to leave us alone. You must do something," said Lucinda.
Lucinda needed to rethink her plans of embarrassing Selene if she now carried the Blackthorn name. "I told you that woman was a user. She keeps attaching herself to men she could use. That woman never loved you."
