"It is not a good look for you to turn to stalking. I am faltered but others might be terrified by this," Selene said, listening closely to Xavier's light steps behind her. "Don't you have work to do now?"
"Not after what you just said and you know it. How cruel to say that and then run away from me. Luckily, you won't get far. Don't you know that I am quite quick on my feet?" Xavier asked.
"So am I," Selene replied, walking at a pace to keep some space between them.
Selene knew what she started and would get some fun out of it while she could.
Xavier took the chase as a game. Unless Selene intended to leave the estate soon, she would quickly find herself trapped in his arms. He had the time to play with her like this. Did she have that time?
Agnes smiled when she spotted Selene but did not approach after noticing Xavier. The two were odd when they acted like this so Agnes didn't want to get in the way.
