Selene continued to leave with Xavier by her side. She said everything she had to say to Fiona and didn't have the time to listen to anything more.
They didn't need to entertain everyone who came at their gates. Their lives would be constantly disturbed if they did.
"You are letting them walk away," Fiona said, confused as to why the guards weren't doing anything.
"I cannot stop them from walking away when we are on their land. You did not tell me of your visit to see the lady. Did you speak about your friendship, trying to get her to forgive you for these lies you spoke of?" Eugene asked.
Fiona didn't think it was important. "You must find my husband."
"And you need to answer me. I am curious if you tried to repair your friendship with someone you suspected took your husband or was it a ploy to get her to confess? You shouldn't leave anything out because then I have more questions for you," Eugene said, finding Fiona to be suspicious.
