"And why is that?" Selene asked.
"Because of what we did but that doesn't mean you should have taken him. If you disliked what we were doing then you should have said something,' Fiona replied, her concern for Oliver growing.
"Would you have stopped if I came to you? We both know Oliver's temper. He would have snapped at me and continued to do as he pleased. That doesn't mean I did something to him. I have not seen Oliver since the day I sat with you," Selene replied with the truth. "And I don't want to see him again."
Fiona couldn't think of anyone else who would want to hurt Oliver. It had to be Selene and if it wasn't her, then it was her husband. Not even the coachman had returned with the carriage to provide her with answers.
Fiona feared that both men were dead and she was left alone to fend for herself. "Then it might be your husband who did it."
