Chapter 15 - Chapter 15:Awakening In The Gym

Taking a deep breath, Alex pushed open the heavy glass doors of White Tigers Fighting Gym. As they swung wide, a rush of energy enveloped him, and he stepped into a vibrant world of movement and discipline. The air was thick with the scents of sweat and determination, and everywhere he looked, people were immersed in their training. He watched as two fighters sparred intensely in a ring, their feet dancing and fists flying in a synchronized ballet of strength and strategy. Nearby, others pounded rhythmically on punching bags while beads of sweat glistened under the fluorescent lights. In another area, a group was performing high-intensity workout routines, their faces flushed with effort.

As he ventured deeper into the gym, Alex's excitement mingled with nervousness. The vibrant atmosphere was both intimidating and invigorating. He was greeted at the reception counter by a broad-shouldered man with an air of authority. "Hello, how may I help you?" the man inquired, eyeing Alex curiously.

"Yes, I got referred by a friend. I'm here to see Sebastian," Alex replied, hoping he sounded more confident than he felt.

The moment he spoke Sebastian's name, the man's eyebrow shot up, and a shadow of disbelief crossed his face. "Are you sure you're here to see Sebastian? There might be some sort of mistake."

"No mistake," Alex insisted, pulling his phone from his pocket. "My friend Harrold told me to be here at this time to meet Sebastian. Here, I'll show you." He turned the screen towards the receptionist, displaying the text message showing the details.

The man studied the message for a moment before nodding reluctantly. "Wait here, please. I'll be right back."

"Okay," Alex said, feeling a mix of relief and anticipation. He wandered slightly, his gaze drifting around the bustling gym, taking in all the sights and sounds as his heart raced with excitement.

Making his way to a nearby water cooler, he grabbed a small paper cup from the receptacle and pressed the lever, listening to the satisfying sound of water filling his cup. He took a few sips, savoring the coolness as it quenched his thirst. As he drank, his eyes were drawn back to the sparring ring. The two fighters exchanged heavy blows interspersed with grunting noises, a display of fierce competition that sparked Alex's admiration. Suddenly, one fighter executed a quick roundhouse kick that connected with the other's midsection.

"Wow!" Alex exclaimed under his breath as he witnessed the impact that knocked the opponent out of the ring with a loud bang. He couldn't help but wince, thinking about the power behind that kick. That had to hurt. The sheer skill and control the fighters exhibited made him realize how far he had to go, but it only intensified his desire to learn and improve.

Not long after, the receptionist returned. "Sorry for the wait. The master is waiting for you in his personal training room just over there." He gestured toward a door slightly ajar at the back of the gym, the name 'Sebastian' etched on a small plaque beside it.

"Thank you," Alex replied, his heart pounding with a mix of fear and excitement. He wiped his sweaty palms on his pants and took a deep breath, steeling himself for what lay ahead.

As he approached the door, he could hear muffled sounds from within—gruff voices and the occasional thud of someone striking a pad. Pushing the door open, he stepped into the room and was immediately struck by the transformation. The atmosphere shifted; it was quieter here, more focused.

Sebastian stood in the center, a tall man with an imposing presence. His hair was tied back, revealing a chiseled jaw and a gaze that could pierce through to your very soul. He wore a simple black tank top and workout shorts, muscles visibly rippling as he moved.

"Ah, you must be Alex," Sebastian said, his voice deep and commanding. "Harrold spoke highly of you."

"Yes, sir," Alex managed, trying to maintain eye contact despite feeling overwhelmed. "I want to learn. I want to get better, to protect myself and those I care about."

Sebastian studied him for a moment, his expression unreadable. "That's a good reason to be here," he nodded slowly.

"But I'm a beginner… I just don't know if I'll be able to keep up," Alex added, his voice wavering slightly.

"Every expert was once a beginner," Sebastian replied firmly. "What you need is dedication. Are you ready to commit to learning? It won't be easy, and it will test you in ways you can't imagine."

"I am ready," Alex affirmed, resolve flooding through him. He felt a rekindled fire fueling his spirit, pushing away any lingering doubts. This was his moment. The path ahead wasn't just about learning to fight; it was about building himself into a stronger person, both inside and out.

"Good," Sebastian said with a hint of a smile. "Let's get started."
