Chapter 1 - Against All Odds

Looking at the monster in front of me, I felt exhaustion set in.

My entire body was covered in wounds, all slowly draining my HP away.

Throwing a quick look in my inventory, I saw the only thing I had left was low grade potions, all of which wouldn't even stem my bleeding in the slightest.

As for my enemy?

A black sun hovered between both of its cracked horns, giving off a majestic and malevolent aura. spreading chaos and insanity related status effects like a charity, leading to many a funny and tragic team wipes.

The armor that covered her entire body was lying on the ground, fragmented, after 8 hours of relentless button mashing. The only thing left was the creature itself.

The chimera called the Über daemon.

Crystals covered the lower, draconic body. Where the neck of the dragon should be was replaced by a female human torso, yet far bigger than any human. If only it wasn't for the evil dragon looking lower body, she'd be considered incredibly beautiful.

And yeah, there's way too much fan art of her don't ask me why I know about it.

The strongest boss in the entire game. Less than 10 raid teams have managed to beat her, a total of 40 players, and with more than 10 million players...

And this was my 6th attempt to solo her. My 6th and probably final attempt to make history.

Thankfully, her pattern changed when you fought her alone, and according to the game devs, it was possible to beat her solo.

Since it was her turn in the next round, and [Blood Song] was coming up, the thing that stopped 90% of the community from even attempting her.

One final shot at glory.

Making up my mind, I opened...

> Skills.

I moved my cramping hand, and wearily scrolled all the way to the bottom of my skill list.

Thousands of hours of hard work, yet even now I had to gamble on my life. She wasn't called the queen of bullshit for no reason, after all.

"Fuck me..." I muttered, feeling sweat run down my face.

Reaching the bottom of the list, I saw the skill i was looking for.

[Sacrifice].

Your HP is set to 0 the next turn. You deal a random amount of your HP as damage, multiplied by anywhere from 1 to 10.

My last hope for this to end in my win. Infamous in the community for being considered a cheese tactic, especially when you consider that most had an entire summons team to carry you after you use it.

I was alone. No summons.

A quick glance at the second monitor.

"Mad man, don't waste the last 10 hours of our time lol"

"He's actually gambling lololololol"

"HE WILL NOT YIELD! 1!1!"

I smiled in resignation, "I've run out of options, last chance innit."

I want to win.

Before the chat could reply, I hit enter. The feelings of being choked washed over me.

I want to win.

The heroic animation started playing, with the hero stabbing himself dramatically with a ritual blade.

I watched the numbers flash across the screen, my breathing shallow, my heart pounding like crazy.

90%.

My breathing became quicker.

"I WANT TO WIN JUST THIS ONCE, COME ON!" I yelled.

"COME ON GAME, ROLL HIGH! I AM BEGGING YOU!"

"HOLYYYY THAT'S HIGH AS HELL?!"

"HE'S GONNA GET IT, LET'S GO!"

"WORLD'S FIRST SOLO QUEEN OF BS!"

The multiplier ticked up, then slowed.

4X.

My breathing stopped.

The Boss entire HP bar went red, and started trickling down.

"There's no bullshit solo mechnanics that cuck you out of your win when soloing, are there?" I said, my voice cracking.

I tried looking at the chat on my second monitor, but there were far too many comments whizzing past to make out anything.

Turning to look at the main screen, I saw something.

...

1.

1/100,000,000 HP

NaN Mana

The world stopped.

"No... Please tell me this is a joke..."

Looking at the cursed 1, I felt my soul leaving my body.

"Failed,again..."

I collapsed into my chair, not bothering anymore.

"I... spent more than 10 thousand hours in it. I fucking... Grinded my ass off, got every fuck ass item I could, and brought every thing buyable just to juice myself up for this."

I jumped out of my chair, smashing my hand against the table.

"Ah, I'm FUCKING MAAAAAAAD" I Screamed at the top of my lungs. Mostly out of anger. Helplessness was mixed in.

Panting, I looked at the chat. Still too quick to make out anything.

"I'm gona go piss real quick, I need a break guys. Fuck... AAAAAAARGH FUCK ME! FUCK. ME."

I stumbled out of my room, making my way to the bathroom down the corridor.

Washing my face quickly, and splashing some cold water on my hand, I regained my composure.

I still felt exhausted, though.

>go to kitchen

> >open fridge

> > >get beer

Making my way back, I plopped my ass on the chair, beer in hand.

Looking at the chat, there were no messages being sent.

'Did everyone fuck off? I don't blame th-'

I froze mid thought and turned my head towards the second monitor.

A cutscenes was playing.

'Cutscene... Cutscene?'

Another moment passed.

"CUTSCENE?!" I yelled.

Gluing my eyes to the screen, I shut up.

After she thanking my hero for freeing her, she slowly turned into motes of light. The black orb above her head had long since turned white.

Even her blindfold came off, revealing a dazzling pair of golden eyes.

With one final gesture, my hero was brought back to full HP, and she fully disappeared.

Frozen in the chair, I didn't know what to do. I didn't even know what to feel.

Meanwhile, chat:

"nowaying" x 2000

"pog champ" x 1500

"congrats boss, ya famous now"

"madlad did it"

"consolation drink into celebration drink ¬¬¬¬¬"

Current viewers : 120.057

Almost 100 times my usual viewers. I didn't even keep track of how high it had climbed up.

Taking a sip, the game went back to real time mode.

I could move my character freely again.

A large donation came in."why is she the only boss that's turn based? ¬¬"

"CLUELESS" X 100

"cluegi" X 50

I replied absent mindedly, "There's clips of that, and it went horribly. Occasionally even hilarious." I smiled, "To put it into perspective, the more people fight her the stronger she becomes, including her speed. Exponentially. Her title as the queen of BS is well deserved in that regard."

From the same person, another question: "Why did you keep trying, even after failing like 5 times ¬¬"

I smirked, and took a sip "Well, being stubborn I guess. Someone told me there's no way to solo her, and I proved them wrong."

Pausing a moment, I continued seriously. "And it's implied if you beat her in a raid team you don't actually free her, and... Her end is much more tragic than this. Made me feel bad, you know?"

Softly, I continued "At least this way, she has found peace at last."

Stretching, I went to move my character to check the drops.

"This feeling of going from heaven, to hell, and back to heaven... It still didn't hit me yet, I guess."

Suddenly, I felt curious.

'I wonder, do I get anything unique for beating her solo?'

Approaching the shining treasure chest, located at the other side of the room, I felt excited again.

Another cutscene started playing. I don't remember any other boss that had their chest have a cutscene.

A white light spilled forth.

Its intensity increased, until the only thing I saw on my monitor was white.

It remained like that for a few seconds.

Before a hand reached out. Slowly, towards me.

'How cool' I thought while sipping.

And then...

I felt it.

I felt the hand pressed on my head.

'Huh, that's so realistiiii...'

Pause.

Theres a hand. There's... A hand. On my head¿¿¿

"...heh?"

And the hand pulled.

The force of it yanked me out of my chair, dragging me into the white light.

"MOTHERF-"

The stream ended, and the PC shut off. The people who witnessed this live thinking this was a prank pulled by the streamer.

It wasn't until a few days later when people found out he went missing.
