Wow...this is the life...I can finally rest without worrying about lectures...about suprise tests and GPA....I knew taking a gap year out of college was a good idea and to say my mother was chill about it is an understatement....she was super dope and cool about it considering she is a hot headed typical black mom .
I've been back in our house for two days now and its been a blast...
I'm laying in my room now playing sunflower by Post Malone and not worrying about doing 12 lab assignments....this...this is a magical combo
"What is", my mom asked walking in with a wet towel on her hands
I didn't even notice I said that out loud
She is looking amazing with her hair cut short into a Will Smith cut and dazzling diamond earrings...its been long since she had her natural hair out of wigs
"Nah its just a dream come true sitting here you know ",
She sits down on my pink cotton comforter on my bed and looks at me....
"You're here for only one year right....I don't want your black ass getting used to this ",
She meant that in a good way...I went to college late due to my poor marks at high school and our financial struggle at home...you know her being a single mom and having to care for me and all
"One year...just one to let off the steam...its no joke at med school mom...",
Yeah...lets just say God is present in our lives...I have no idea how he did it but I ended up going to med school after re~writing my exams two times at 21
She smiled and stood up walking to the door
"Okay...and oh I have to leave for work....I just came for lunch and please...please do something about whatever this is",
She said twirling her finger to my ceiling....I decorated it with butterflies as soon as I landed in Malibu last two days...what can I say I dream of becoming one
I just smiled at her unimpressed face...she is so displeased with my love for butterflies
"I'll leave before I tear them off", and with that she left
"I love you too Miss Simi'ann", yeah she's a high school geography teacher
"And oh...I left a raspberry pie in the oven",
She screamed from the living room
"Yeah"....
"Don't get ahead of yourself , take it to our neighbours "
Did she see my hopefull smile die from there...l hope she did
She just ruined it....and there is no way in hell am I going to the Bennett's house...she'd have to drag me
"You know I will throw your nasty ass out the window Ailee Simi'ann...don't test me", she knows I hate going there

"I love you too....now go before it gets cold...I'll see you later...oh shit I'm late", she nearly broke the door down whispering the last part to herself
Shit....this is it...its punishment for asking for a break from college....why would she ask me to go to the 'elite high class' neighbors for fuck's sake....I doubt they'll even touch our baking dish without disinfectanting it
