Mella stood up so quickly her chair scraped against the floor with a screech. Her voice was sharp. "What do you want from us, Hames?"
Hames' calm expression didn't match the tension in his gaze. He raised an eyebrow at her reaction. "You're usually too scared to talk back. What changed?"
"A lot. You don't scare me anymore."
Andrew stepped between them, his tone more measured but still wary. "What are you doing out of the hospital already? And where are the others?"
Hames smirked faintly, ignoring the question entirely. "That dragon person... What are you to it? And where is it now?"
Andrew blinked, genuinely confused. "Dragon person? What are you even talking about?"
"Don't play dumb with me!" Hames' voice rose, his calm demeanor cracking. He took a step forward, his movements stiff. "You sent it after us, didn't you? You think I wouldn't figure it out?"
Mella scoffed. "Listen to yourself. You sound paranoid."
