After the twins, Jack and Jace failed their very first mission. They weren't caught by the cops, rather were finished off by those who never gave seconds— the Mafioso. Chapter 1 - Prologue

8th July, 2020...

Detroit, Michigan...

Red Mafia Secret Warehouse...

"So Jake, Jace. Tell me what the heck happened?" Don Damian placed his sliver revolver gently on the table, his gaze cold and straight.

Jake and Jace turned to look at each other and gulped. They were now seated in a dark room, surrounded by a number of black suited men, all holding guns. Inhaling and exhaling deeply together, Jake was about to speak when Jace raised up his hand to stop him.

"I'll take it from here brother. Lemme handle this." Jace assured his twin brother, as sliding his blonde her back, he seemed all confident and unfazed.

"Damian right?" The clicking sound of all the black suited men's guns were heard, displaying their disagreement with the Don being referred to by his name. He gesturing to them with a slight wave, they stood at ease once again in obedience.

"Know your places, hah." Jake raised the middle finger, showcasing it to the black suits proudly.

"Gosh, brother. Please sit your butt down and behave." Jace sounded all matured.

"Forgive my brother, Damian. Now where were we?" He clasped his hands, his gaze as piercing as Damian's own.

"Losing my 90k?" Damian stated, his voice domineering.

"Righto, as we were ordered, and you know I won't lie to you as always, the mission was a total success."

"Done and on our way to the safehouse, the cops busily speeding here and there. One if them stopped right beside us, and as good citizens we went when called."

"So, these two cops went on with the usual, have you seen any unsuspicious people who may have robbed a bank question. Dumb right, hah so we told them the obvious truth. Yes, us of course, after all we were so unsuspicious that they wouldn't have noticed it if we didn't say it."

"..." Damian was frozen still, a cat seemingly holding firmly to his tongue.

"Those dummies were like, so ya got the cash here? Buh bro, how do they see the Js— we had to provide alright. So we—"

*POW!

*THUMP!

Jace dropped dead flat, bullet in the head from Damian's sliver revolver.

"You ki—"

*BANG!

*BANG!

*BANG!

Rounds of gunfire was let loose, the black suits finally having a chance to vent their anger him. Soaking in the pool of their own bloods, one stuffed with bullets and other a headshot, their souls out of their corpses.

7828 Snake Age...

Shen Dynasty Period...

Shengai City...

The Imperial City of Shengai laid in flames and turmoil, chaos all around as cultivators battled against each other in all corners of the city.

The Emperor Shen Zin had been slain in one of his usual brothels, ending the the tyranny of the Shen Dynasty once and for all.

Back in the Imperial Palace, the rebels had already broken through all the gates on all sides, heading for the main palace.

They were eager to wipe out the Shen Family, and only the Empress and her son's remaining alive.

The remaining Imperial Guards of the palace gave their best, still they were overwhelmed by their numbers, despite being low level cultivators.

With the army at the border, help couldn't be received even from the closest city, as they had also rebelled at the exact same time.

In the chambers of the Empress, the 20 Imperial Guards at the Pseudo-Battle Lord Rank stood before the entrance, ready to battle to the death.

Inside the Empress's room, two 8 year old boys stood on guard, ready to protect their mother though they were both at the fifth stage of the Chi Consolidation Rank.

"Shen Yan, Shen Han, don't bother— they won't be able to hold them, after all we have been betrayed.

*CRASH

An Imperial Guard was sent crashing into the room from outside. Landing right between the two, he seemed to have taken a deadly blow enough to finish off a Battle Lord in one go.

"We have been betrayed!" Just then an arrow came flying and impaling the guard in the head all of a sudden.

Like a firecracker, a spark was burning put a thread towards a substance strapped to it.

"Shen Yan, back off. It's black powder!!" Shen Han yelled, seeing his brother suddenly near the guard and about touching the arrow.

"Noo Shen Han!" The voice of the Empress's peered into his ears, stopping him in his tracks.

"Did mother just speak?"

*BOOM!

The black powder exploded, leaving nothing else but minced flesh and blood spluttered all over.

"Kill The Empress!!" The rebels alongside the traitors rushed in, quickly attacking the Empress who was shielded by an array.

"Don't touch the Empress! Leave her alone, you filthy bastards!!" Shen Han recovering from the blast, rose up and rushed towards the rebel group.

"Insolence! Thousand Cuts Sword Art!!" One of the rebel cultivators went for the attack, slicing and dicing Shen Han who kept his eyes on the Empress.

The chunks of him were severed off, every single drop of blood gushing out, still he didn't stop moving towards the Empress.

"Mother spoke." It was almost like a whisper, a thought instead as he finally dropped down dead.

In a realm only souls entering the reincarnation pool had ever visited before being reborn. The divinity in charge of the pool and assigning what every soul became in the next life was Adonis.

Before him was a large screen, the images were moving fast and so where his hands as from his perspective, he saw them much more slower.

"Hmm, I kinda remember these two right? Don't think so, after all there are lots of souls entering into the pool each second." Adonis, thought to himself befor

e pressing on the random assignment as the two souls were sent off to another life once again.
