The pirates of the New World seemed to realize that the navy was fully awake and ready to exterminate them, causing widespread panic. At first, they could still encounter two or three pirate crews a day, but after a while, it became rare to meet even one pirate crew every two or three days. It was unclear whether the pirates were nearly wiped out by the navy or if they had found places to hide, waiting for the navy to leave before they resumed their activities in the New World.
However, for Satoru, the outside world held little interest. Unless a pirate group appeared in the sea area under his jurisdiction, he had no intention of intervening. After all, his priority was the construction of the base. The war had completely destroyed the island's infrastructure, and they had no place to stay. The weather in the New World, known for its unpredictability, made it even more difficult. One moment, it could be pouring rain, and the next moment, there might be a blizzard or a thunderstorm. During such extreme weather, they had no shelter, forcing several people to sleep together for warmth. While their physical condition was strong, even they couldn't withstand the harsh elements, and many were already falling ill.
Although this didn't affect Satoru, thanks to his control over his powers, which could shield him from the weather, he still had to consider the well-being of those under his command. He reluctantly joined the ranks of manual laborers—after all, the more hands, the faster the work would be completed.
One day, as the day's work ended and everyone was about to rest, Satoru, who had already closed his eyes, suddenly opened them. His pale blue pupils shone brightly in the dark night. Moments later, he vanished from his makeshift tent and appeared on the beach.
There, standing at the shore, was a figure, as if waiting for Satoru to arrive.
"I didn't expect us to meet so soon. I truly must thank you for saving my life last time, Mr. Dragon," Satoru said to the figure with his back to him.
The figure slowly turned around, a look of mild confusion on his face.
"You sensed me?" Dragon asked, his eyes narrowing slightly.
"Of course. Even though I was unconscious at the time, I still had a sense of what was happening around me," Satoru replied.
Dragon nodded. "My father spoke about your dream the other day, and I increasingly feel that inviting you was the right choice."
Satoru's potential was immense, and the Revolutionary Army, one of the world's largest organizations, had already learned of his battle with Kaido. Even though Satoru wasn't Kaido's equal yet, surviving a battle with such a monster showed remarkable potential. Dragon saw the possibility of Satoru eventually reaching—or even surpassing—Kaido in strength.
"Therefore, Satoru, I now formally invite you to join the Revolutionary Army and help me change this decaying world."
Dragon extended his hand toward Satoru, his eyes filled with a determined resolve.
Satoru stared at Dragon's hand before speaking. "Mr. Dragon, I have a question for you."
"What is it?"
"If you overthrow the World Government, can you ensure that your new government will not become the same as the current one?"
Dragon's expression darkened slightly, and he fell silent. It was a question he had no clear answer for. After all, no one could predict how the thoughts of those in the Revolutionary Army might evolve, nor whether his own thoughts would change in the future.
"I don't know," Dragon finally admitted. "But I will do my best to avoid it."
Satoru was surprised by the honesty in Dragon's answer. He had expected a firm rejection of the possibility, but it seemed that Dragon was not the type to make promises he couldn't keep.
"This answer is a bit unexpected, but it doesn't matter," Satoru said. "I agree to join the Revolutionary Army."
Dragon, who had prepared himself for a rejection, was taken aback. He had hoped for Satoru's acceptance, but hearing it confirmed still caught him off guard.
"But there's a condition," Satoru added, his expression serious. "If the Revolutionary Army ever becomes as corrupt as the World Government, I will not hesitate to destroy it. And I will have the strength to do so when that day comes."
Dragon nodded solemnly. "If that day comes, and I've changed, I will accept my fate and allow you to end my life."
Satoru gave a slight nod, feeling satisfied with Dragon's answer.
"Well, you are officially part of the Revolutionary Army now."
The two of them shook hands—one young, one older—both burdened with the task of changing the world.
"If you ever need anything, don't hesitate to ask. We will do our best to help," Dragon said after a pause.
Satoru gave a slight smirk. "You're quite crafty, Dragon."
"Desperate times call for desperate measures," Dragon replied with a sly smile. "In the early stages of the Revolutionary Army, we must use every resource we can mobilize."
Satoru couldn't help but laugh at Dragon's cunning, realizing the depth of the strategy at play.
