Chapter 39 - Chapter 38 - Being a mother

_________________IVY_________________

Balancing motherhood with my professional life was no small feat for me. With a six-year-old son, Ian, who was curious and full of energy, and six-month-old twins who needed constant care, every day was a whirlwind. Yet, I managed to find a delicate rhythm between my now demanding work life and my family, embracing my new role with strength and resilience.

Caspian had tried his best to persuade me to stop working at least until the kids start school but I refused. He equally ask me to get a nanny but that's a no as well.

Well, what can he do but to support me. Despite his own demanding works he still finds time to help me out.

Grace had also asked me one day why I had to be working when my husband has a fortune that can even last up to his 10th generations. We laughed over it as she knows I can't stop working.

Our parents are always there too. My friends, the squad and Emma too.

Mornings were a carefully choreographed routine. I would rose early, managing to steal a few moments to myself before the house woke up. I cherished this quiet time, sipping my tea while organizing the day's tasks in my mind. Or I would make sweet love with my husband. Soon, the twins' gentle cries would echo from the nursery, and I would go in to find them wide-eyed and wiggling in excitement. After a quick change and feeding session, Caspian would join me, taking the twins in his arms as I moved on to prepare Ian for school. Although Tyler helps most times too.

Ian, ever observant, had become a protective big brother, always eager to help with the babies or share little stories with them. I smiled as he proudly introduced his younger siblings to everyone he met, his boundless enthusiasm a constant source of joy for me. Caspian would often step in, creating special moments with Ian so that I could have my hands free for the twins. Watching Caspian play with Ian and share laughs together filled me with a deep warmth, knowing that our family is growing closer every day.

When it came time to head to work, I was efficient and focused. I maintained a balance between my leadership role and being present for my family, establishing a routine that allowed me to work from home a few days a week. Caspian had set up a cozy home office space filled with soft pictures of our children and of us, a constant reminder of why I worked so hard. On days when I was in the office, I made sure to call home to check in on the babies and share a few words of encouragement with Ian before he goes to his school.

Mario ever since he returned to work has been the most careful driver. We would chit chat as we drove through the town.

Sometimes I take the kids with me to office and everyone would gush over them and how Ian is taking care of them. Watching them. They have started to move around everywhere.

They are becoming Little angels in a devil's clothes... I can't imagine when they start walking how it would be.

Evenings were a special time in the house, a blend of family chaos and warmth. The dining room would fill with laughter as Ian animatedly recounted his day to his siblings, who babbled back as if they could understand. Caspian and I would often exchange knowing glances, enjoying the rare moments of calm when everyone was together. Caspian, who had always been a steady, protective presence, would take turns feeding the twins, allowing me to rest or spend some quality time with Ian. We made a habit of sharing the bedtime routines: Caspian would read Ian a story while I rocked the twins to sleep, humming lullabies and gently stroking their tiny hands until they drifted off.

Though I often ended my days feeling exhausted, there was a quiet satisfaction in knowing I was building a life of love and stability for my family. I and Caspian leaned on each other, exchanging gentle touches, whispered words of encouragement, and moments of shared pride as we watched our children grow. On weekends, we would plan family outings or quiet days at home, filling the house with laughter, the scent of fresh-baked treats, and the cozy warmth of togetherness.

Some other weekends, our parents takes turn to take the kids with them and I will have a moment with my husband. Filling the house with our moans as we make love. It always gets better and we can never get enough of each other. There was a time we fucked in my office because I had forgotten to come out soon. I only went to reply few emails but got carried away with other documents. Caspian has entered dragging me up from my chair. He sat me on the table and fucked the hell out of me. It's like a punishment but a sweet punishment. He always does go extreme even though we go hard sometimes.

In the quiet moments at the end of each day, I would look around and feel a profound sense of gratitude. My life was busier and more demanding than ever, but I wouldn't have changed a thing. I am not only a mother and a partner but a leader, a protector, and a source of strength. With Caspian by my side, I knew I could balance everything, creating a life where my children could grow surrounded by love, security, and the unbreakable bond of family.

Today I decide to pay my husband a visit at work. He doesn't know I'm coming though. It's not my first time going over there but I always call him to let him know I'm coming.

I decided to surprise Caspian by bringing the twins to his office. I dressed them in matching outfits, knowing Caspian would love the sight of them and hoping it would be a sweet break in his busy day. As I entered his office building, people stopped to admire the babies, smiling and exchanging warm greetings as I made her way up to Caspian's floor.

When I arrived at his office, however, I found his assistant, Mia, looking flustered. Mia quickly approached me, relief evident in her eyes. "Mrs. Asher, thank goodness you're here! Mr. Asher just left for an urgent matter at the Rosewood Hotel, one of the hotel he recently acquired. There was a situation with some of the VIP guests, and he had to go in person."

My brow furrowed. "He mentioned he was busy today, but I didn't know he had a hotel emergency. Is everything alright?"

Mia nodded. "Yes, but he has an important meeting with a potential client—Mr. Carlisle—scheduled to arrive any minute.

Caspian mentioned how crucial this deal could be. It's a new investment in one of his international ventures."

I glanced at the twins in my arms, my mind already turning over the situation. I knew how much this client and the project meant to Caspian, and while I hadn't been involved in the early discussions, I was confident I could handle it.

Caspian had kept me up to date on his plans, often discussing new projects with me late into the night, valuing my insight and strategic mind.

"Alright, Mia," I said, a calm determination in my voice. "I'll meet with Mr. Carlisle on Caspian's behalf. I know enough about the project to represent him. Please just let him know, in case he tries to get back here."

Mia's face lit up with admiration and relief. "Thank you, Mrs. Asher. I'll have everything you might need ready in the conference room."

(Everyone by now already knows Ivy's capacity and capabilities. They knew she's a fire when it comes to business and Mia had no doubt in her)

A few minutes later, I settled into the conference room with the twins resting comfortably in their stroller beside me. I reviewed the notes Mia had provided, mentally organizing my thoughts on the project. I was ready just as Mr. Carlisle arrived, a tall, polished man with a discerning eye that quickly took in me and the two babies with a curious expression.

"Mr. Carlisle," I greeted him with a warm but professional smile. "I'm Ivy Asher Moretti, Caspian's wife. He had to attend to an emergency, but I'll be handling today's meeting on his behalf."

Mr. Carlisle looked intrigued but nodded, taking a seat. "Mrs. Moretti, a pleasure. I wasn't expecting a meeting with you, but I've heard great things about your business acumen."

I chuckled, keeping the mood light. "Thank you, though I'll try not to let my little assistants here steal all the attention." I said motioning to the twins. He has no issue with the babies and nodded.

As we began discussing Caspian's project, I seamlessly transitioned into business mode, explaining Caspian's vision for the venture, potential revenue forecasts, and the strategic benefits of their partnership. My confidence, combined with my intimate understanding of the project, impressed Mr. Carlisle. I presented the plans clearly, highlighting the strong market research and competitive edge that Caspian's company could offer.

Mr. Carlisle asked a few probing questions, but I responded without hesitation, even suggesting a few creative adjustments to the proposal that added value. The twins remained peaceful in their stroller, as if sensing their mother's focus, and Mia occasionally peeked in, just to make sure everything was going smoothly.

I think I got a view of Brandon too but I was too focused to recheck.

By the end of the meeting, Mr. Carlisle was visibly impressed. He shook my hand with a satisfied smile. "Mrs. Moretti, I see why Caspian values your opinion. You're a remarkable partner—Caspian is lucky to have you. Consider the deal agreed. I'll have my team begin drafting the paperwork this afternoon."

I smiled, thank you so much Sir. My husband would be really happy for this.

After Mr. Carlisle left, I felt a rush of pride and excitement. Not only had I represented Caspian effectively, but I had managed to secure an important deal that I knew would mean a lot to him.

Brandon appeared and was gushing over why he didn't make a fast move on me the very day we met at the function. I winked at him as he rushed over to the twins. He picked Ariel who is now awake. I picked up Author and fed him first since Ariel is busy with Brandon. When I'm done with my boy I took Ariel while Brandon took Author from me.

Author and Ian are mummy's boy's while Ariel sticks to her dad more.

She could be crying loudly but calms down at the voice of his dad.

We had nothing more to do since we don't know when Cas will be returning so we decided to head home.

Later that evening, Caspian returned, still dusting off the stress of the day, when I met him at the door with a playful smile.

You look tired, I commented.

You can't imagine babe... He replied. Kissing me on the lips.

"Your VIP client meeting went wonderfully," I said, folding her arms with a teasing glint in my eye.

Caspian raised an eyebrow, surprised. "The meeting? Carlisle? I… I missed it completely."

I grinned, linking my arm through his. "You didn't miss anything. I took care of it. He opened his mouth in confusion, Congratulations, Mr. Moretti—you landed the deal."

Right, we added the name since that's his actual name after our wedding. He was glad that I did accepted.

A smile slowly spread across Caspian's face as he processed my words. "You—handled the meeting? Secured the deal?" He pulled me close, a mix of pride and awe in his gaze. "I should've known you'd step in like this. You're incredible, Ivy." how did you know? I mean I didn't know you're coming to the office today.

She shrugged playfully. "Just trying to keep up with you, baby."

With the twins resting nearby, he wrapped me in his arms, grateful beyond words. We shared a quiet moment, both knowing that together, they were truly unstoppable.

His phone rang and he kissed my lips picking up his call and went upstairs.

I helped Mather arrange the dinner even when she insists she's got it.

Later that evening, with the kids finally asleep and the house wrapped in a comfortable silence, Caspian and I enjoyed a quiet, candlelit special in the bedroom patio. The day's busyness faded as we shared laughter, stories, and glances that carried the weight of all they had been through together. When we finished our snacks, Caspian gently took my hand, leading me back to our room.

The room was dimly lit by the soft glow of bedside lamps, casting warm shadows across the walls. I moved toward the window, gazing out at the city lights, feeling a sense of peace settle over me. Caspian walked up behind me, slipping his arms around my waist, pulling me close. I leaned back into his embrace, feeling his warmth, his steady presence.

"Ivy," "baby" he murmured, his voice low and tender as he buried his face in my hair. "I still can't believe how lucky I am. You took care of everything today—the business, the family. You amaze me, every single day."

I turned to face him, my eyes shining with the same depth of feeling. "Baby, we're in this together. I want you to know I'm here for all of it—all the ups and downs."

In that moment, he leaned in, capturing my lips in a slow, lingering kiss, one that spoke of both passion and gratitude. As the kiss deepened, he lifted me gently, carrying me over to the bed. My laughter filled the air as I wrapped my arms around him, a spark in my eyes that made his heart race.

We spent the rest of the night wrapped in each other's embrace, our closeness renewing the bond we had built over time. Caspian traced gentle patterns along my skin, whispering soft words of love and admiration, while I held him close, feeling the strength and devotion we shared. In that quiet intimacy, the weight of the world melted away, leaving only the two of them.

Everything faded behind us and left the rythme of our moans, groans, body claps together. Soft whispering of love and our sweats mixed together. It's one of the night's that is unforgettable.

As we lay together afterward, I rest my head on his chest, listening to his heartbeat, we spoke of dreams for our family, our hopes, and the life we were creating. Caspian brushed a strand of hair from my face, his thumb tracing her cheek as he whispered, "I love you, Ivy. Always."

With a soft smile, I looked up at him, my heart full. "And I love you, Caspian. Forever."

We fell asleep that night wrapped in each other's warmth, knowing that no matter what challenges lay ahead, our love was the foundation of everything we held dear.

The next morning we woke up a bit late and you already know who to blame. The kids made their few fuss in the night and we took turns tending to them. Since we already know their patterns most time Caspian would just take Ariel and fed then rock her back to sleep while I do same for Author.

I found a handwritten note from Caspian on my nightstand, written in his familiar, bold handwriting:

Baby,

Bring our little ones to the office today. I missed out on yesterday, and I don't want to miss seeing all of you again. Let's make it a day I can steal away for us.

Yours,

Caspian.

I smiled, imagining his face as he wrote it. I knew he meant every word. Caspian had a powerful presence, but around me and the kids, he became softer, showing the side of him that was only for us.

I got Ian ready for the day, explaining the little adventure to my bright-eyed six-year-old, who beamed at the thought of visiting "Daddy's office." I'm taking Ian because today is Saturday and he's not going to school.

I dressed the twins in coordinating outfits, which brought a smile to my face as I imagined Caspian's reaction. By mid-morning, we were all set, and I packed the twins' essentials, along with a few of Ian's toys to keep him entertained.

Stepping out, Mario took the bags and help me strap the kids in their seat.

Cas had bought a special car for us and fixed car seats in them. That man can go miles for us, I smiled.

As we walked into the office building, I felt a flutter of excitement. The staff greeted us warmly, many of them smiling at the sight of the twins and Ian, who was proudly holding his mom's hand, eager to see his father's workplace.

When we finally reached Caspian's office, his assistant, Mia, smiled knowingly and opened the door with a quiet nod. Caspian looked up from his desk, his eyes lighting up instantly as he caught sight of us. He rose, his face softening, and came over to scoop Ian up in a warm embrace.

"Dad!" Ian's laughter rang out as he hugged Caspian tightly.

Caspian kissed me gently, his hand resting on my waist before he bent down to greet the twins who were quiet in their double stroller, customised by Tony. his eyes full of warmth as he took each of their tiny hands. "I missed you all yesterday," he said, a tenderness in his tone reserved only for his family. "Thank you for coming." he kissed me again.

I smiled. "We couldn't stay away after that note." I teased.

Caspian grinned, lifting Ian up onto his desk as he gestured to the chair beside him. "Stay awhile. I'd like you all to see a bit of my world."

He spent the day balancing work with family, taking breaks between meetings to hold the twins or playfully show Ian the different parts of his office. I admired how he seamlessly managed everything, taking time to make them feel part of his day.

At one point, Caspian called me over to his desk as the twins slept in their stroller nearby and Brandon had popped up taking Ian out for a while. He handed me two small folders, his eyes twinkling. "A little gift for my partner," he said softly, watching my reaction as I opened it.

Inside one of the folder was a beautiful sketch of an office space—a family-friendly addition he had secretly been planning for me, with a cozy corner for the kids whenever I want to work from his office.

The other one contains a venue sketch he bought for me. Wait...!!! He freaking bought a whole venue with the biggest landmark I could ever imagine for me! Now I not only plan events but I have a venue I can now use for different events. Wow.

My eyes filled with emotion as I looked up at him. "Caspian, this is... perfect." "this is too much baby"

"It's yours, Baby," he said, resting a hand on my cheek. "Just like everything I do—it's all for you and our family."

Our day at the office became a cherished memory for all of us, a beautiful reminder that no matter where life took them, we would always have each other to come home to...
