"Another milestone achieved, up to the next level!" Daniel said to himself happily as he came out of the examination hall, and he had presented his final year project early in the morning.
Different professors were present in the auditorium when he defended his project in front of them.
Professor Vin, a female professor for chemical reactions, and Professor. Cole, who is a professor of chemical dynamics and analytical chemistry and the head of the department in mechatronics engineering, were impressed with Alex's overall performance as he presented his project in front of them.
"You are nothing but a great guy! Sky is your limit. I wish you the best in the near future!" Professor. Vin said as he was about to leave the hall.
Alex was a brilliant student right from his childhood. All the schools he went to were always the best in his class. Just that with the death of his parents, which led him to Houston University of Science and Technology, and most of the coursemates disrespected him and always mocked him because they thought he was from a poor family.
Only his best friend Emmanuel knows he is not from a poor background. When they first met, he told him his story and what led him to Houston University of Science and Technology.
"Let me order an Uber and visit the Meyers headquarters to see the company manager. Now that I'm the new Chief Executive Officer of the company."
He took out his phone from his pocket and logged into the Uber application on his phone.
Thirty minutes later, an Uber arrived at the school and parked to pick him up.
On his way to Meyer's headquarters, he sent a text message to his barrister. Linda informed her first before he arrived there so that they could allow him to get into the company.
"You don't have to worry yourself, Alex! I have informed the manager about your coming; he will be very happy to see you soon!" Barrister. Linda replied to his message immediately with the text drop on her phone.
"Wow! That is great!"
Finally, he arrived at the Meyer Group of Companies at their headquarters. The company was built on two hectares of land, and their second office was built opposite the King's villa hospital.
He got down from the car gently after he settled the Uber driver. As soon as he got out of the car, he spotted a G-Wagon Benz coming straight to where he was standing before he moved from the spot. The car stopped beside him.
He looked up inadvertently to check who exactly was in the car.
"This car looked familiar!" He said to himself as he turned his back and was about to move from the spot.
As he was about to enter the gate, he saw two young ladies come down from the car.
"I said it! I know it knew them!" He said as Sofie and Laila came out of the car.
Laila was wearing a Gucci designer T-shirt and a pair of blue jeans from the same brand. The two outfits cost over fifteen thousand dollars, while Sofie was dressed in a blue suit with a Louis Vuitton handbag and a Rolex wristwatch in her hand, which cost over twenty-two thousand dollars. She looked very smart and beautiful.
Meanwhile, Alex has just dressed in an old second-grade T-shirt that he bought from an eBay store online. Both Sofie and Laila dressed in a flamboyant style, but Alex's outfit was just like a guy who came to the company to look for security work.
As it turned out, the two ladies who had just come down from the car were Mrs. Loveth's daughters.
Alex didn't expect to meet them here at the same time as he also came to the office. The best way to avoid their problems is to hide themselves and allow them to pass to avoid their trouble.
Because he knows them, once they start now, it won't end here. They will report him to their mother, Mrs. Loveth, and she would also support them.
He went straight back to the vehicle next to him to hide himself. He was eager to hide himself and stay away from their trouble.
Unfortunately, Sofie caught sight of him in the corner of his eye. She yelled and shouted his name immediately, "Who are you hiding from? Alex?"
Sofie shouted his name, and Alex felt embarrassed by what she had just said.
To avoid future embarrassment, he could only stop at where he was and wait for them to move closer to him. He greeted two of them politely, "Hey, good afternoon!"
"Good afternoon, Alex!" Laila replied, trying to be more mature than her younger sister Sofie.
"What are you doing here? Who invited you to the Meyer group of companies during this working time?" Sofie asked, frowning.
"Hmmm! Alex smiled instead before he finally replied to her, "No one invited me. I came here to beg the manager if he can help me with some money so that I can pay my tuition fee or if he can help me with any minimum job like security or cleaning!"
Then Laila turned and replied, "We are not here for the same reason. Sofie came here to see the chief security officer and the regional manager to collect our share of the new endorsement deal they had just signed with the Arabic investor. For the refinery!"
Sofie chuckled. "Since I'm the firstborn of Mrs. Loveth, and we are the only legitimate heirs of the Meyer family. Laila came with me to know how it has been in case I sent her instead!"
Alex wasn't aware that Laila, Sofie, and Mrs. Loveth usually came to Meyers to collect endorsement shares from the company anytime the company signed a new deal with an investor. After all, he is now the new Chief Executive Officer of the company, and he will be the one in charge of funds as of now.
Unfortunately, he wasn't happy with what they just said. Instead, he simply said with a polite smile, "Wow! Amazingly, you people always come to Meyers' company every time to act like a beggar in a company that doesn't belong to you!"
"What did you just say? Are we acting like beggars? You must be stupid to say that!" Sofie rose.
Laila looked at Alex contemptuously, feeling a surge of anger in her.
had what Alex just said, both Laila and Sofie were surprised. Wasn't this the guy who had come to them yesterday to beg their mother for his tuition fee?
What gave him the confidence to speak to them like, Now that he was about to be expelled from Houston University. Instead of him begging Mrs. Loveth's daughters, he . ensued them instead.
How did he want to pay his school fees? Now he has insulted his helper. They are waiting for him to come back to Mrs. Loveth and beg them for money for his tuition fee and see how he would graduate with their help.
"You came to our company from our family's company. Instead of you begging us and helping you out, you decided to insult your helper!" Laila said to him angrily.
"Who is my helper, you?" Daniel asked.
"Why am I wasting my time with a loser like you? You do this worthless job. You don't look like someone that needs help, and no one in this world can help you. You this idiot!" Sofie gasped.
"Who cares? I don't need your help and I will never come to you for any help", Daniel frowned.
The reason why Sofie called his name loudly when he was about to enter the gate was to bully him; now that he had started, they would leverage that opportunity to mock him.
"Apart from being a loser, what else are you useful for? A fool like you is trying to compete with our standard!"
"I was even surprised when he called us a beggar! An idiot like you who has no skills or results that he can leverage so that Meyer's company can employ him, but instead, he is trying to be pompous to his helper!"
"Trust me, Meyer's company can never employ a worthless object like you. You had better leave right now and go to the street and continue begging people for money like you always do. You this little trash!"
Then, Sofie turned and stepped forward, frantically trying to slap Alex. Alex saw her immediately and held his hand immediately.
"Don't ever try that rubbish!" Alex said to her, with his fist clenched and his eyebrows furrowed, trying to control his anger.
"Since we are family, we won't consider your words; we will help you speak to Meyer's company recruiting team to help you out to work as a security member in the company. At least that way you will be able to make at least five thousand dollars instead of going to the street and begging people for money!" Sofie said with her face flushed with anger.
"Exactly! That way he would not destroy the Meyers family's reputation, Laila said.
Before Sofie said her next word, Alex immediately turned and entered the building, ignoring Sofie screaming behind him.
"Stop right there! You that fool! Stop there!" Sofie continuously shouts.
Alex rashly entered the elevator hall before Laila and Sofie arrived at the reception.
Unfortunately, Sofie tried her best to catch up with him, but before they arrived at the elevator hall, Alex was already on the top floor.
Sofie gritted her teeth in anger. All she planned was to teach Alex some lessons. Maybe if she gave him three slaps across his face, his brain would sense, and he would know how to talk to people who are not his mate. Before Laila and Sofie arrived, Alex was already out of the elevator hall, but they saw him immediately when they came out. They decide to rush to meet and teach him some lessons, but to protect their integrity and prevent disrespect from Meyers' company now that they are on' Meyers' top floor. They don't want to disrespect themselves. So they had no choice then but to dismiss the idea of teaching him a lesson.
"I won't allow him to go freely like that. Anytime we meet, I would surely teach him a lesson. That idiot boy, Sofie said, gritting her teeth in anger.
"Leave that little trash, let him go!" Laila commanded her younger sister, Sofie.
Sofie nodded, knowing full well that this place wasn't the right place to punish him. Anytime they wanted to teach him a lesson, it would be outside of Meyer's company, where no one would be there to beg or support him.
As Alex arrived at the top floor, he went straight to room seven, where a white sticker was placed on the wall labeled MD, which stands for Managing Director of the company.
Since Barrister. Linda had spoken to the manager before he could, and they had already made all the necessary arrangements on his behalf. He was moving confidently in the walkway. The man who was manager of the company was Andy Smith, who was a seven-year-old man.
Andy Smith has been the managing director of Meyer's group of companies since they started the company ten years ago, when Alex was still in high school in the United Kingdom. He was working as a consulting manager for Mr. Meyers in one of their companies in Singapore. Before they finally transferred him to Houston to become the managing director of Meyer's company at their headquarters. He has worked for different multimillion-dollar companies in Houston, Singapore, and different parts of the world. He has earned a reputation as the best manager for many companies. Most companies he has worked for always add significant growth to the business in terms of revenue and other areas of the business.
Alex also might decide to work with him since he has a good reputation, and he is hardworking.
Andy would be glad to work with him if he was opportune to continue as the managing director of the brand.
Andy was quite shocked when he saw Alex at the entrance to his office. He didn't expect him to be such a handsome and brilliant young man.
He was surprised when he finally met him. This was the handsome young man he had been expecting for the last few days!
He wanted to make it very well arranged as fast as possible as he composed himself and greeted Alex respectfully with a smile on his face.
"You are welcome, Mr. Alex Meyer, to the Meyers group of companies."
