Keon trudged down the streets of Tylne, his eyes cast down at the ground. His stepmother's harsh words still echoed in his mind. "You're worthless, Keon. You'll never amount to anything." His father's silence was even more painful.
As he walked, Keon noticed a group of street children huddled together, whispering among themselves. They glanced at him nervously and quickly dispersed. Keon wondered what was going on.
The news headlines flashed in his mind: "Street Children Vanishing in Tylne: Authorities Baffled." Keon's family had discussed it over dinner, but his stepmother had quickly changed the subject.
Just then, Keon's little brother Courage appeared, out of breath. "Keon! I've been looking all over for you!"
Keon's eyes narrowed. "What are you doing here, Courage? You're supposed to be at home."
"I made up an excuse to come find you," Courage admitted. "I was worried about you."
Keon's expression softened. "Thanks, Courage. But I can take care of myself."
As they talked, a hooded figure emerged from the shadows. Keon seemed entranced, and Courage's instincts screamed at him to intervene.
"Get away from him!" Courage shouted, rushing towards the hooded figure.
But it was too late. A blinding light enveloped them, and everything went white.
When they came to, Keon and Courage found themselves in separate cages, surrounded by darkness.
"Courage! Are you okay?" Keon called out, his voice shaking.
"I'm here, Keon! What's going on?" Courage replied, his voice trembling.
Suddenly, a figure emerged from the shadows. "Welcome, Keon and Courage. You have been chosen for a greater purpose."
Four years had passed since Keon and Courage's disappearance. They were now mere Phantoms, stripped of their identities and memories. But the process of granting them powers would change everything.
Keon was led to a ritual room, where he was transformed into an eight-tailed wolf. His eyes glowed yellow as he discovered his powers: superspeed, lightning control, and the ability to summon a black sword. But with these powers came fragmented memories of his parents' abuse. Keon's anger surged, and he screamed, "Stop!"
Meanwhile, Courage was transformed into a fox with orange-red glowing eyes, granting him control over fire.
When they returned home, Courage was welcomed with open arms by their mother, who asked Keon what he wanted. Keon's response was cold and detached, "I don't care."
Two days later, Keon's heightened emotions boiled over, and he felt an overwhelming urge to kill his parents for abandoning him. He confronted them in the sitting room, demanding answers. His mother's rude responses only fueled his anger.
"Why do you hate me?" Keon asked, his voice low and menacing.
"I don't have time for your whining," his mother sneered.
Keon's eyes flashed yellow as he drove his hand through her heart, killing her. His father tried to intervene, but Keon's gaze froze him in terror.
"What are you?" his father asked, trembling.
Keon's response was chilling: "My name is Karma. I am vengeance incarnate, here to punish you for what you did to me."
Courage, still trying to process his new powers and memories, approached Keon with caution. "Keon, what's going on? What's happening to us?"
Keon, still fueled by anger and a desire for revenge, turned to Courage. "We're taking back what's ours, brother. We're making them pay for what they did to us."
"But at what cost?" Courage asked, concern etched on his face. "We're not killers, Keon."
Keon's gaze turned cold. "I am now. And you will be too, once you remember everything."
Their father, still trembling in fear, spoke up. "Please, Keon, don't do this. I'll do anything."
Keon's laughter was menacing. "You should have thought of that before you abandoned us. Before you let her abuse us."
Courage placed a hand on Keon's shoulder. "Keon, stop. This isn't the way."
Keon shook him off. "You don't understand, Courage. You don't remember yet. But I do. And I won't rest until they pay."
And with that, Keon disappeared into the night, leaving Courage and their father behind. Courage knew he had to follow Keon, to try and bring him back from the brink of destruction. But as he looked at his father, he knew he had to confront his own demons as well...
Keon, now fully transformed into Karma, stood over his mother's lifeless body. His father cowered in fear, begging for mercy.
"Please, Keon, don't kill me! I'll do anything!"
Karma's gaze was cold, unforgiving. "You should have thought of that before you abandoned me. Before you let her abuse me."
Courage, trying to intervene, placed a hand on Karma's shoulder. "Keon, stop. This isn't the way."
Karma shook him off. "You don't understand, Courage. You don't remember yet. But I do. And I won't rest until they pay."
Their father, desperate, revealed a shocking truth. "Keon, I know why your mother hated you. It's because... you're not my son."
Karma's eyes narrowed. "What do you mean?"
"You're the result of an affair. Your mother was pregnant when we met. I raised you as my own, but she never forgave you for that."
Karma's anger boiled over. "You're lying! You're just trying to save yourself!"
But deep down, Karma knew the truth. He remembered the fights, the screams, the feeling of never being good enough.
With a fierce cry, Karma summoned his black sword and struck down his father.
Courage, horrified, tried to reason with his brother. "Keon, stop! This isn't who we are!"
But Karma was too far gone. He disappeared into the night, leaving Courage to pick up the pieces...
LOCATION
THE ANONYMOUS MAN'S RITUAL ROOM
The anonymous man stood before Florence, Skylar, and Kurd, who were just children at the time.
"You three have been chosen for a greater purpose," he said, his voice low and mysterious.
Florence, left to die in the snow, was placed in a chamber filled with jaguar energy.
"Embrace the power of the jaguar," the man whispered, as Florence's body began to glow with an icy light.
Skylar, abandoned on a plane, was taken to a room with iron wings suspended from the ceiling.
"Feel the wind beneath your wings," the man said, as Skylar's eyes turned a piercing brown, and iron wings sprouted from his back.
Kurd, sold by his father, was led to a dark room filled with the scent of tigers.
"Unleash the tiger within," the man growled, as Kurd's eyes turned golden, and his mind became flooded with thoughts of distraction and manipulation.
The man watched as the three children transformed, their powers growing stronger with each passing moment.
"You are now the Incursio," he said, his eyes gleaming with intensity. "Together, you will be unstoppable."
2 weeks later
Courage stormed into the compound, his eyes blazing with anger.
"Where is he?" Courage demanded, his voice low and menacing.
The anonymous man, seated in a chair, looked up at Courage with an unreadable expression.
"Ah, Courage. I see you're still struggling with your emotions."
"Where. Is. Keon?" Courage repeated, his fists clenched.
"I don't know what you're talking about," the man replied, his voice calm.
Courage's anger boiled over, and he lunged at the man, but was restrained by guards.
"Don't lie to me!" Courage spat. "I know he's here. I can feel it."
The man sighed, steepling his fingers. "Keon is not here, Courage. He's gone rogue. And even if he was, do you think you could handle him? Your emotions are still raw, uncontrolled."
Courage's face twisted in rage. "I'll kill him. I'll kill him for what he did."
The man leaned forward, his eyes glinting. "That's exactly what I'm afraid of. Your emotions are heightened, Courage. You're not thinking clearly."
Courage struggled against the guards, but they held firm. "Let me go! I'll show you what I can do!"
The man's expression turned cold. "You're not ready, Courage. But soon, you will be. And when you are, we'll find Keon together."
LOCATION
THE TRAINING CENTER
The anonymous man stood before the four Incursio members - Courage, Florence, Skylar, and Kurd.
"Keon, the final member of our team, has gone rogue," he began, his voice firm. "He's completed his transformation and is now a danger to us all."
Florence's eyes narrowed. "What do you mean?"
The man's expression turned grave. "Keon's powers are unpredictable, volatile. He's a threat to our entire operation."
Skylar crossed his arms. "And why should we care?"
The man's gaze turned cold. "Because, Skylar, if we don't stop him, he'll destroy everything we've worked for. And I won't let that happen."
Kurd leaned forward, his eyes gleaming. "What's the plan?"
The man's eyes locked onto Kurd's. "We'll track him down, use our combined powers to subdue him, and bring him back here."
Courage's jaw clenched. "I'll take care of him. He's my brother."
The man's expression turned skeptical. "Courage, your emotions are still raw. Are you sure you're ready for this?"
Courage's eyes flashed. "I was born ready."
The anonymous man nodded, a small smile playing on his lips. "Very well. Let's begin."
The four Incursio members - Courage, Florence, Skylar, and Kurd crept through the forest, their eyes fixed on Keon, who sat on a rock, gazing at the moon.
"Now," Courage whispered, and the team sprang into action, ambushing Keon with lightning-fast movements. Florence summoned a wave of ice shards, while Skylar unleashed a gust of wind. Kurd attempted to manipulate Keon's mind, but he was too quick.
Keon dodged and weaved, his eight-tailed wolf powers propelling him with incredible speed. He countered with a swipe of his black sword, sending the team flying.
Courage struggled to get back to his feet, his eyes locked on Keon. "Keon, stop! It's me, your brother!"
Keon turned, his eyes gleaming yellow in the moonlight. "I'm not Keon anymore," he growled. "I'm Karma. And you should never follow me again."
With a burst of superspeed, Karma vanished into the night, leaving the team stunned and defeated.
Florence groaned, getting to her feet. "Well, that didn't go as planned."
Skylar shook his head. "Understatement of the year."
Kurd rubbed his temples. "I've never seen anyone move that fast."
Courage's eyes burned with determination. "We'll get him next time. I promise."
Florence, Skylar, and Kurd approached Courage, who was still gazing in the direction Karma had vanished.
"Courage, why do you want to kill him so badly?" Florence asked, her voice laced with curiosity.
Skylar nodded in agreement. "Yeah, what's going on between you two?"
Courage's expression turned dark. "He's my brother, Keon. Or at least, he was. Now he's...Karma."
Kurd's eyes narrowed. "What happened?"
Courage took a deep breath. "We were created together, trained together. But Keon was always different. He was stronger, faster...and more volatile."
Florence's eyes widened. "And you think he's a danger to us?"
Courage nodded. "I know he is. He's unpredictable, and his powers are growing stronger by the day. And...he killed our parents."
Skylar's eyes widened in shock. "What?"
Courage's voice cracked with emotion. "Yes. He lost control, and...they're gone. Because of him."
Kurd's expression turned grim. "That explains a lot."
Florence placed a hand on Courage's shoulder. "We're with you, Courage. We'll help you stop him."
Courage's eyes burned with determination. "Thank you. I won't rest until he's brought to justice."
As they journeyed back, the team couldn't stop talking about their encounter with Karma.
"You have to admit, Karma is a cool name," Florence said, a hint of envy in her voice.
Skylar nodded in agreement. "Yeah, we should get names like that too."
Courage, who had been quiet until then, spoke up. "I've already got one. Rage."
Kurd raised an eyebrow. "Rage? How did you come up with that?"
Courage smiled wryly. "I removed 'COU' from Courage. Fitting, don't you think?"
Florence's eyes widened. "I like it! From now on, I'm Frost."
Skylar grinned. "And I'm Sky."
Kurd thought for a moment before nodding. "I'm Dikstra."
The team shared a laugh, their new names symbolizing their newfound unity and determination.
