The Scorpion Queen first effortlessly killed A-Liu and Da-Zhuang with her massive pincers.
Then, with a swift strike of her tail, she pierced the chest of another unfortunate soul, and the potent corrosive venom instantly reduced his body to nothing but bones.
Finally, she released the larvae stacked on her back.
She set them loose on the fleeing Black Death Society members, using them as the first prey to begin learning the art of hunting.
The Bladekiller dealt with the symptoms, but the Scorpion Queen addressed the root cause.
Together, they made specimens of their quarry.
The Black Death Society members, who had originally planned to block the way and rob, had barely managed to escape a short distance before being hunted down one by one.
The chilling screams grew louder and closer.
It was as though the footsteps of death itself were drawing near.
The Moxigan leader and the others quickened their pace in fear.
Yet, they still couldn't escape the pursuit of the two third-tier powerhouses.
Within just a few breaths, one by one, the Black Death Society members were slain by the Bladekiller and the Scorpion Queen.
They lay lifeless on the ground, just like the members of the search squad they had ambushed earlier.
Only the Moxigan leader, a second-tier speed-type Evolver, continued to flee, getting further and further away.
The distance to their base was getting closer.
A look of relief began to appear on the Moxigan leader's face.
However, before he could even call for help, he suddenly realized with horror that his throat had been pierced by a steel bar, blood gushing out like a fountain.
He tried to speak, but his crushed windpipe could only produce labored wheezing sounds.
His pupils dilated.
He was dead.
It turned out that Zhang Yang had used his mental power to control the steel bar, guiding it like a homing missile for a precise kill!
Thus, all the Black Death Society members lying in ambush along the industrial park road were eradicated.
Despite being Evolvers, and their leader being a second-tier Evolver, they were no match for Zhang Yang, who had come hunting.
Even though they were a formidable force in this Black Death Society outpost, or in the official shelters of the city, once faced with Zhang Yang, no matter how much they struggled, they were doomed.
Not just the Black Death Society members.
Bladekiller, sensing movement, discovered three more bodies and two trembling women hiding behind a rock, the former hiding place of the Moxigan leader.
He brought them before Zhang Yang.
"Boss, I found these behind the cover. They must be from the search team."
"Indeed, they look like people from the official shelter."
Zhang Yang's gaze swept over the two surviving women, confirming their identities. They were indeed members of the official shelter's search team.
He decided to interrogate them.
"I'll ask, you answer. Cooperate, or your fate will be the same as those others."
"What are your names, what are your abilities, and why were you tied here?"
Zhang Yang's tone was calm, yet undeniably authoritative.
The two women, already on the brink of terror, were pale and trembling.
But, for the faintest chance of survival, they stifled their fear and answered the formidable necromancer's questions:
"In reply, Lord Necromancer, my name is Xiao Xiaodie, a first-tier blood-type Evolver, and this is Zhao Qi, a first-tier water-type Evolver. We are both members of Search Team 6, and we ended up here because..."
The long-haired girl, Xiao Xiaodie, stammered, spilling the details of their mission.
Nothing out of the ordinary.
However, Xiao Xiaodie's ability caught Zhang Yang's interest.
Blood manipulation.
The power to control and consume blood.
While this ability didn't seem much on a young girl, if it were bestowed upon a zombie, it could potentially make them a candidate for becoming a Zombie King.
At the very least, it could elevate them to a leader-tier zombie!
With this thought in mind, Zhang Yang looked at Xiao Xiaodie and Zhao Qi and ordered:
"Open your mouths!"
The two women, confused and terrified, hesitated but complied.
They shakily opened their mouths.
The next moment, concentrated blood was forced from Zhang Yang's fingertips, dripping into Xiao Xiaodie's and Zhao Qi's mouths, and then immediately seeping into their bodies!
This was no ordinary blood.
It was infused with vast amounts of energy.
To mutated creatures, it was a powerful elixir; to humans, it would cause immediate mutation into zombies!
Zhao Qi, with only average potential in water abilities, was little more than an afterthought.
Zhang Yang's true goal was Xiao Xiaodie, with her blood abilities!
"Ahhh!"
"What is happening?!"
A searing, feverish sensation spread through their bodies, causing both women to gasp in agonizing breaths before finally fainting.
When they awoke, they had transformed from humans into zombies!
And now, they kneeling respectfully before Zhang Yang.
"Boss!"
"Rise. From now on, you are my subordinates. Do you understand?"
Zhang Yang looked at Xiao Xiaodie with satisfaction.
He then pulled a fresh cup of blood from his inventory and handed it to her.
"Drink it. As someone with blood abilities and now a zombie, your need for blood will be considerable."
"Yes!"
Xiao Xiaodie eagerly took the cup and drank it in one go.
A faint crimson glow flashed in her eyes.
Her strength increased slightly.
She experimented with her abilities, and the blood she had consumed reformed into weapons—blood swords, blood armor, and blood needles—enhancing her combat prowess.
She could even manipulate the blood within other living creatures, interfering with its flow.
For zombies, it wasn't much of a threat.
But for humans, it was a deadly weapon!
"Impressive abilities."
Zhang Yang clapped his hands, pleased to have recruited another capable subordinate.
He gave the newly transformed zombie, Xiao Xiaodie, a new name:
"From now on, you will be known as Blood Princess."
"Yes, Blood Princess greets the Boss!"
Blood Princess was quite pleased with her new name.
She stood alongside Zhao Qi, now one of Zhang Yang's subordinates, on equal footing with Bladekiller and Scorpion Queen.
Though she was still weaker due to her recent mutation, she would soon grow into a formidable powerhouse.
Scorpion Queen, being a mutated insect, paid no mind to such matters.
Bladekiller was happy to see his boss gain another skilled ally.
"The hunt isn't over. The Black Death Society's base is ahead. Let's move."
Zhang Yang's eyes focused on the path ahead, speaking to his subordinates.
And so, Zhang Yang and his group pressed deeper into the industrial park.
Their goal: to wipe out the Black Death Society's outpost and convert all the Evolvers into sustenance for their evolution!
Thus, a group of zombies and giant scorpions, led by Zhang Yang, confidently marched toward the Black Death Society's base.
At the same time, within the base, the remaining Black Death Society members witnessed the annihilation of the Moxigan leader and his team.
They realized too late that Zhang Yang's group was drawing near.
Panic swept through them, and they were left paralyzed with fear, unsure of what to do!
