Prologue
Warmth… Darkness… A consciousness…
This feeling, it's comfortable…
As he began to slowly open his eyes, Yun Hao realized that he was being embraced, and a very familiar feeling came from the arms wrapped gently around him.
'Wait, I was driving home from work, how?'
A string of memories began replaying in his head. As he was driving home from a long shift at work, a careless parent let their child wander into the middle of the street, right into the path of Yun Hao's car. While swerving to avoid hitting the child he unfortunately skidded into the middle of the oncoming lane, thus getting T-boned by a garbage truck that happened to come down the road at that moment.
'Damn it, so I should be dead? Don't tell me those novels could actually be real, right? A truck took me out just as I tried to save a life??? Sigh… So I have become someone else now huh…'
A lot of thoughts are going through his mind at the moment, and after a second of realization he calms down. What greets him upon opening his eyes for the first time is a luxuriously furnished bedroom with silk drapings and gold brocade adorning them. His head hurts with a splitting pain as he tries to turn and take a better look at his surroundings and an instinctive yelp escapes his mouth. As he begins to cry uncontrollably, he feels the same pair of hands from earlier gingerly lift him up and he caught sight of a breathtakingly beautiful woman, she seems to his mother because she held him close and began to rub his back, "My darling child, Hao'er, you shouldn't move around so suddenly…"
'Bloody hell, Yun Hao! Why are you crying like a wuss? Ugh… but the warmth… this feels… nostalgic?'
Much before the incident of losing his life in an accident, Yun Hao was used to living alone. His parents had left him very early on in his life, ironically through an accident themselves. He then shut himself off, never making friends, nor falling in love, neither pursuing becoming successful. He simply became a cog and let life move him as it pleased. Therefore the sudden bravery he showed as he swerved his car to avoid hitting the child on the street was a cumulation of all his frustration with himself. For being a bystander all his life, for having no friends, for not being brave enough to find love, he wanted to be a hero in that moment and the situation presented itself… almost like it was scripted from the very beginning…
Destiny is a deadly mistress…
As he has now discovered, Yun Hao seems to have been reborn. Reborn into what seems like ancient China, from all the silk drapings with the golden dragons embroidered- his identity does not seem to be simple.
'This doesn't seem like the start to those novels I used to read? Am I actually a Son of Heaven? It can't be that simple right?'
It really was not.
"Ah my dear son, your constitution is so weak, you can barely move…", his 'mother' quickly gave him a reality check as soon as this those thoughts crossed his mind, "Don't you worry child, your father has vowed to do his best to find a solution for you, just live comfortably by your father and mother's side, we will never abandon you because of lacking the ability to cultivate martial arts, we will always love you just the same…"
'Goddamn garbage truck! It was fine if you killed me, but why did this 'reincarnation' have to happen and give me such a shitty constitution? DAMN IT'
A few years go by, Yun Hao has been subject to excruciating pain multiple times as his parents tried to desperately raise the foundation of his constitution forcefully and give him a second chance at cultivating martial arts. Each time he inwardly cursed his luck and the missing goldfinger that would usually have appeared like in the novels he had read before.
He is now 10 years old and has weathered many painful treatments like tearing his muscles and tendons.
His father Yun Zhuyang is the Second Prince of the Tianzhong Empire, hence resources and special doctors were in no shortage or in a lack of access to him. His mother Lin Xu Yue was also a princess from among the archduke families of the Tianzhong Empire, with the Lin Duchy having a close and amiable relationship with the Yun Imperial family. Yun Hao has one blood related sibling, his older sister Yun Linjue. At this point in time she is 13 years old and a prodigy of martial arts, although he doesn't completely understand the cultivation levels yet, he was told that she is at the Visceral Tempering Realm- a one in a thousand talent for having such a high cultivation at her age.
Despite this disparity, Yun Linjue truly loved her little brother Yun Hao and she would often spend time by his bed after one the treatments were completed because it pained her to see him struggling and wailing through the obviously torturous treatment methods. She had once brutally killed one of the doctors who seemed to be enjoying her little brother's pained cries- and although it was quickly hushed by the imperial family, any doctors that further came to treat Yun Hao, were thoroughly screened and only then allowed to go near him.
Over the years, Yun Hao had actually also grown the closest to his big sister, although he is also close to his mother, even she is simply helpless as she cannot bear to see her child suffer, but also cannot have him be completely incapable of shouldering the martial arts heritage of his Imperial Bloodline. Although the Yun Imperial family is very united in front of other royalty, there are many internal struggles. As is the case in any dynasty, where there is power, there is wild ambition.
For Yun Hao, treatments are only a part of his struggles, his half siblings from his father's second and third concubines are all average, but still have a better constitution than him. Although they never hurt him physically, they would mock and berate him to no end, silently nudged forward by their ambitious mothers. It took a few light beatings from Yun Linjue for them to simply avoid interacting with him altogether and Yun Zhuyang recognizing his wives' mischief, mediated the situation and asked them to teach their children to be better people.
Of course, this only served to stoke the fire- the two who constantly berated him were his half brothers Yun Baifeng who is 11 years old, at the Muscle Tempering stage of the Body Tempering Realm, and Yun Jifan, who is 10 years old and is also at the Muscle Tempering stage. Yun Jifan generally kept to himself but got peer pressured into bullying Yun Hao by Yun Baifeng, even though his mother was nudging his back he often stopped before going too far. However, over time he got frustrated with getting constantly nudged by his mother and then dragged along by Yun Baifeng, which eventually lead to the beatdown they both received from Yun Linjue, as they ended up going too far, even insulting their own father Yun Zhuyang in the heat of the moment.
Yun Hao, being an adult in his past life, was already immune to this type of childish bullying, however his older sister's protectiveness gave him a feeling of warmth he had long forgotten, and the obsessiveness of his parents also reminded him of his past life's parents.
In short, he was extremely grateful.
This was why he was able to continue keeping his patience with every treatment they put him through, even though each one has been extremely painful. His body just cannot seem to get fixed.
On the night before his 11th birthday, after laying in bed, mentally and physically exhausted from another treatment he hears a dull voice play in his mind, 'Unlimited Passives, Unlimited Potential. Welcome Host, initializing'
Even in all the pain he was feeling, a boiling excitement welled up in Yun Hao's chest, it was finally here! The heavens really could not bear to continue watching him suffer! 'Unlimited Passives? Is that very powerful?', he thought for a moment and realized, 'Actually, it might be!'.
'Congratulations Host, for first time activation of the Unlimited Passives System, as a sign on bonus, you have received 10 free passive skill points. No skill is useless to the Host'
As he focuses on this voice, an almost game-like overlay appears in his vision and he finds that it can be interacted with just his thoughts.
Yun Hao's breathing picked up as a bit of excitement welled up in his heart, a ding sound soon followed along with, 'Congratulations to the Host for acquiring the Passive Skill "Nine Winds Dragon Breathing"'.Â
'So I can just gain a skill by breathing? This is... isn't this too nice?'
As if it was consolation for the difficulties he had endured in his life since being reborn, this gold-finger of his seemed to be rewarding him with some extremely powerful goods. As he focused on this breathing skill he just unlocked, another prompt came up in his mind, 'Nine Winds Dragon Breathing is at the Crude level, spend points to Improve? Requires 3 passive skill points for the next level'. After weighing the idea in his mind, Yun Hao decides to hold on and first try to understand if this new skill was just cultivated by breathing normally or required any additional input from him.
'Ding! Congratulations to the Host for acquiring the passive skill, "Sage's Comprehension".'
'Ding! Congratulations to the Host for successfully upgrading the skill "Nine Winds Dragon Breathing", from Crude to Mastered level, rewarding 50 passive skill points.'
This greatly surprised Yun Hao, as it had not been more than a few breaths of time since he discovered the basic function of this system and he had already completed a task and received rewards. Bearing in mind that this skill upgrade seemed to be the result of this new comprehension skill, he focuses on it and is prompted, 'Sage's Comprehension is at the Crude level, spend points to improve? Requires 5 passive skill points for the next level'.
Now that he had a collective total of 60 passive skill points, Yun Hao decided to try spending some points to see how much of a difference it would really make.
'Ding! Congratulations to the Host for spending 5 passive skill points to upgrade 'Sage's Comprehension' from Crude to Beginner level'...
'Ding! Congratulations to the Host for spending 10 passive skill points to upgrade 'Sage's Comprehension' from Beginner to Accomplished level'...
'Ding!'...
'Ding!'...
After four consecutive upgrades, Yun Hao left 10 passive skill points as a buffer for himself, getting 'Sage's Comprehension' to the Mastered level. Each time the skill upgrade notification went off in his mind, he felt the world around him grow increasingly more clear. His brain activity had increased several-fold and he felt that if he focused on anything in the world, that he could comprehend its essence. This was actually not impossible, given the names of these skills he had just been essentially gifted for free, it would not be a surprise if Yun Hao could actually comprehend anything that he wanted in the world.
Once again, while in this mysterious state of clarity, his breathing quickened, this time- a vision appeared in his mind. A man sat calmly amidst the clouds, he seemed to be sitting absolutely still and as he expelled his breath, the clouds were split in half from just him exhaling. Yun Hao felt a barrier collapse within his body, as if a daunting shackle had been removed from it- as the vision ended and he opened his eyes again in his room. Yun Hao could clearly feel his blood, skin, muscles, and bones had been strengthened and it was not simply on the surface, but a complete strengthening with no flaws. A strange, unfamiliar power flowed through his body and he realized that all he had to do to surpass his ignorant step-siblings was breathe, as he was already bordering the final realm of Body Tempering, the Visceral Tempering realm. He also felt that if he just focused on breathing that he would soon cross the barrier and perfect his five viscera as well.
A little while later, Yun Hao stood up from his bed- immediately feeling a difference, he had grown taller, almost two heads taller than he was before and his muscles, although not bulging were well-defined and angular. Shuffling over to the bronze mirror on the wall by his bedside table, he was surprised to find that his facial features seemed to have also been improved significantly. The pain he was feeling before he lay down in his bed had vanished, replaced by the comfort of continuously increasing his strength as he felt a force in the surroundings converge around him. His five Viscera had been perfected, and he discovered his dantian- the region between his bowel and groin- seemed to welcome this converging force.Â
As it entered this space, he felt it flow through his body through a path of what seemed to be the mystical Qi meridians that his father often spoke about as he used to try and teach Yun Hao about martial arts cultivation, although generally forbidden from sharing cultivation knowledge without being a Master, Yun Zhuyang shared some knowledge with vague sentences and hoped that his son would memorize them, perhaps it would help him with the problems in his body, or so he thought. Therefore, Yun Hao was aware that he had touched the barrier of the Qi Meridian Realm, in front of his now upgraded comprehension- this barrier too, could be no more than an illusion as the surrounding Qi had soon formed a wisp within his dantian, quietly continuing to flow towards his heart meridian.Â
A short while passed, numerous Qi wisps had formed and flowed around his body, nourishing the various meridians that Yun Hao had carefully memorized from his father's dubiously vague teaching, even reaching some hidden meridians he had not heard of before. That being said, he stopped focusing for a moment and felt a stench coming from himself, a black, scab-like layer had formed above his skin. This seemed to be the impurities in his body which were now expelled.Â
By now, Yun Hao could see the break of dawn creeping over the horizon as he looked towards the window across from his bed, it was the day of his 11th birthday. The day he had been completely reborn from his pitiful state. He then went over to wash himself in a basin of water and began to change his clothes. A special set of robes were prepared for him the night before, but now they would not fit him…
Chapter 1
To avoid being dragged in, and experimented on- Yun Hao tried to control his muscles and bones, attempting to shrink his figure and dispel any unnecessary suspicions that might arise. He also thought about concealing his cultivation progress for the time-being and slowly revealing it to his parents and sister.
'Ding! Congratulations to the Host for acquiring the passive skill "Black Turtle Immortal Breath Concealment".'
'Ding! Congratulations to the Host for acquiring the passive skill "Heavenly Phantom's Myriad Disguises".'
Successive notifications seemed to explain one thing. This system was extremely powerful, Yun Hao had only barely thought of or tried to do something and it rewarded him with a new skill.
'Ding! Congratulations to the Host for consecutively breaking through the sub-realms of the Body Tempering realm, rewarding 200 passive skill points.'
'Heavenly Phantom's Myriad Disguises is at the crude level, spend points to improve? Requires 50 passive skill points to upgrade to the next level'
'Black Turtle Immortal Breath Concealment is at the crude level, spend points to improve? Requires 50 passive skill points to upgrade to the next level'
'Ding!'...
'Ding!'...
He upgraded each once and soon felt the effects, he could almost fool himself into thinking that he still had no cultivation and had not gotten any better than last night. He chuckled as he thought of his beloved elder sister, being a one in ten thousand talent at the Visceral Realm, then what was he? A Qi Meridian Realm cultivator at the age of 11? One in a hundred thousand? One million? It was hard to say...
Now, pale and sallow, he dressed himself and made his way to the living room to greet his mother. According to the routine for the past few years, she would be there at this time, coordinating the maidservants to prepare breakfast, additionally she would usually prepare some of Yun Hao's favorite dishes herself. While also adding a large amount of rare ingredients with strong medicinal qualities to help his constitution. As he entered the room, he saw his mother Lin Xu Yue engrossed in preparations for the day's breakfast, just as he is used to seeing.Â
He walks in and greets her, "Greetings, mother", she turns to greet him, "Hao'er, my dear son, why would you leave your room? I was just about to have your meal sent to you! My dear son, you were in such pain yesterday... Are you feeling better now?", she let off a string of questions and then paused, realizing that despite how painful the treatment was, that her son was standing calmly in front of her. Although he still looked weak and pale, he was standing without any assistance. A flash of understanding went through her eyes and she simply smiled.
Today, during Yun Hao's birthday banquet, there is supposed to be a small martial arts contest to liven up the atmosphere. There has been one arranged for each of his birthdays, most of the time it would be Yun Linjue beating everyone, except when no one decided to challenge her. Often it reminded Yun Hao of his inability to cultivate, and the disdainful glances from some of his cousins and second and third mothers did not help lighten the mood. This time however, Yun Hao had decided to take an opportunity to take back some interest for the years of scorning he has endured, the mockery that has been directed at his mother and a lot of other major and minor inconveniences that they have put him through.Â
At her realization, Lin Xu Yue simply walks over and embraces him, "Good child, don't strain yourself too much okay? Mother and Father are always paying attention to those ungrateful people who are teasing you, but they have not gone overboard as of recent, don't push yourself, okay?", a woman's perception really is too sharp, and he is her son after all, the change in his demeanor- even though his appearance was that of a weak boy. She did not attempt to check his cultivation, as she honored her son's childish wish to 'hide' his progress and surprise the naysayers today.
'Good thing she really didn't check my cultivation, although she would not be able to discern anything, that in itself would cause problems'
"Mother, do not worry, this son of yours is not as weak as he looks", he replies, offering a slight smile as his mother's face flashes with mild surprise. They did not speak further, but Yun Hao could sense the quiet enthusiasm that was going through his mother's mind at that moment. She has indeed guessed correctly that he has recovered some capability to cultivate martial arts, but how much he has recovered, she chose not to probe him for it. She was simply happy that he would be mocked and teased less by his peers in the family.
The day makes way for the night rather uneventfully, although, many of Yun Hao's cousins, aunts and uncles had greeted him in passing if they had seen him in the manor during the day. As the banquet timing neared closer, Yun Hao could feel something he had grown unfamiliar with in his previous life- a sense of anticipation. How good would it feel to show others that you were not useless as they had mocked you for? In fact he keenly realized that if he was not hiding his strength, he could easily deal with any of the guests here, except of course the Yun clan elders and the royal family. Although he is not close to them, they are not enemies to each other. Besides, he believes there are far stronger individuals in the emperor's court and in the dark protecting the royal family. That is usually the case in the novels he had read when he was younger in his previous life.
Yun Hao confirmed one thing to himself however, he was not going to try and be some flashy protagonist- he just wanted to make peace with his regrets in life, spend time with his family and generally avoid troubles. That is not to say that he would forever tolerate mockery and shrink himself to avoid the aforementioned troubles, if they appear on his doorstep. In fact, his decision to 'surprise' everyone today is with the purpose of deterring those who continue to mock him without fear since they are of nobility and whose families are simply half a step below the Yun Clan in the aristocracy.Â
The banquet commences without any complications, Yun Hao is first led up to a platform where all the guests will come up and greet him, give gifts to him and so on and so forth...Â
One by one, he received best wishes, and gifts like mystical herbs and flora, medicinal dans and such. Until one of his own Yun cousins, Yun Baihu came up without a gift but a red envelope, he apologized after greeting and said he could not find anything worthy of his younger cousin. Yun Hao did not miss the arrogance in his eyes, even though he had hidden it well and the onlookers generally did not pick up on it. Those who did, simply watched on because they were used to it, the useless son of Yun Zhuyang was not a secret among the royalty of the Tianzhong Empire. Although they were afraid of Yun Zhuyang as he was the glorious Second Prince, the brother of the current Emperor- what was there to be afraid of his son who could not even cultivate as long as they did not go too far?Â
It was moments like these that leaked out the true state of the so-called 'unity' of the Yun clan. No one would talk about it however, everyone was eager to push their geniuses into the eyes of the Yun clan elders who were reputed to take in sons and daughters in law based on competitions like the one to be held today. This was a golden opportunity to those who were looking to join the main branch of the royal family of Tianzhong, all while increasing their own clan's prestige for raising such a genius should their young ones stand out enough amongst the others. Yun Hao simply smiled, "I thank cousin Baihu, for your generosity", although it did not escape him that Yun Baihu's gaze seemed to be directed behind him, where Yun Linjue seemed to be seated.Â
'Is that the case? We will see if you are qualified tod-'
'Ding! Congratulations to the Host for acquiring the passive skill "Twelve Extremes Perception Field"'.
Just as he started to focus, trying to picture who was sitting in the direction of Yun Baihu's gaze, a new skill popped up- as he focused on it, he found that this skill rapidly went through the levels from crude to perfected by itself. 'Sage's Comprehension' was showing its might at the moment. As the day has progressed, Yun Hao has been keenly aware that his cultivation has not slowed down much, in fact the Qi wisps in his dantian have already turned into a surging river, as four out of the nine main meridians in his body have been perfected and he is almost at the middle of the Qi Meridian realm. Any of these so-called geniuses could not shake his heart in the slightest. Yun Baihu stepped back after greeting him once more, soon all the guests had greeted him and returned to their seats. Yun Hao took note of those who discreetly and unscrupulously had their gaze on Yun Linjue while greeting him. It seemed these people were too confident in their capabilities. He would hold his patience since the time to slap faces was not yet here.
The dinner began and the massive guest hall had a sense of quiet excitement as what came after the dinner was the martial arts contest to determine if any of their geniuses could impress the Yun Elders and get married into the family. While eating, Yun Hao sat close to his sister Yun Linjue, his mother and father were a little further away at another table with some of the Elders. Accompanying the two of them was one of their cousins, Lin Yuling- she too was 11 years old, and had been close to the Yun siblings. Yun Hao was also aware that she was very close with his elder sister and the three of them have played together many times as they were younger. Being an adult in his previous life, he could also tell she had a thing for him- while he has always been sick and weak she seems to have grown attached being so close throughout their childhood.Â
Yun Hao has brushed off this thought many times because he was more engrossed in cursing his luck for his ruined constitution. Now however, he felt he could at least accept her concern for the time-being if not her clumsily hidden feelings for him.Â
As the martial arts contest drew closer, Yun Hao could keenly perceive each of the 'geniuses' gazes turn towards their table, some burning with determination, some with disdain, and a few with hidden and malicious intentions. They were like an open book in his perception, and this was the case even for some of the elders these geniuses were seated with. Since the general strength of the experts at the banquet hovered around the Perfected Visceral Realm with a few rare Qi Meridian realm cultivators, they too could not hide their thoughts from him.Â
Soon the dinner ended. It is now the time for the martial arts competition. Numerous geniuses from the families were called up and made to draw lots, they could each challenge one other person and the contest ranking would be a process of one-by-one eliminations. After the first round, they would re-draw lots and then have the chance to challenge one another again, repeating the first round's rules. The third round would feature the best among the geniuses present today- those with the highest chance to impress the Yun clan Elders.Â
Yun Hao saw that his two sisters were not going up to draw lots- it was worth mentioning that Lin Yuling also had a fairly high cultivation for her age, high up in the middle stage of the Bone tempering realm. She could be counted amongst some of the best geniuses present but she did not care for the challenges today, perhaps the women of the Lin family had exceptional perception, but she had been gazing at him intently instead of watching the lots getting drawn. Yun Hao could also feel more hostile gazes pile on as the younger male onlookers noticed that Lin Yuling's attention was captured by the 'useless' Yun family young master.
Much like the stunning beauty of his mother, with Lin Yuling being one of his direct cousins from his mother's family- seemed to have inherited an almost innocent beauty, one that made you want to protect her, yet she was stronger than most of those that fancied her. She was almost akin to a famous idol among the Yun clan youngsters- Yun Baifeng and Yun Jifan included. However it was growing clear today that her gaze was only on the Yun Hao that they all disregarded and secretly despised.
The first two rounds of the contest soon passed. Yun Hao had to restrict himself from meeting Lin Yuling's stare numerous times to avoid directing even more scornful gazes towards himself. As he had expected, Yun Baihu had made it to the third round and looked quite strong among the people he had challenged. In both his challenges, he directed his gaze towards Yun Hao's table after his victories were declared by the referee. This did not go unnoticed, neither by Yun Hao's group of three, nor the Yun clan Elders. Some of the latter had already begun to converse with each other in hushed voices, Yun Hao could obviously hear them, he just lightly shook his head and brushed it off. None of these wannabes are good enough for his sister, and he can prove that their 'talents' are useless today. Nevertheless, surprisingly, Yun Baifeng and Yun Jifan also made it to the final round.Â
The remaining contestants were all around the level of Baifeng and Jifan so it looked quite obvious that Yun Baihu would be taking the highest position in this competition.Â
Yun Baifeng's battle starts, and his opponent Fu Xiao seems to be evenly matched as they exchange their first blows. Yun Baifeng however, trained in the Yun Royal Sword Art and has actually achieved a Beginner proficiency level already. He soon gained the upper hand with clever positioning and vicious sword strikes, forcing Fu Xiao to forfeit by stepping off the match platform to save his life. Yun Baifeng as well turned his gaze towards Yun Hao's table, looking at Lin Yuling who did not really pay any attention to the fight. His annoyance grew deeper, but he still knew better than to cause a scene just now.
Yun Jifan was unfortunate and drew lots against Yun Baihu, he was quick to surrender- although it was a bit disgraceful to give up without fighting, he believed that he knew his limits it seemed.
All the remaining battles concluded and there was no major upset; Yun Baifeng also unfortunately ran into Yun Baihu- promptly surrendering, therefore seeing that Yun Baihu was the only one to have an opponent surrender due to overwhelming difference in combat strength, the final match was bypassed as no one could compete with him from the remaining contenders. Seeing this, Yun Baihu grew emboldened, a scheming glint in his eyes. "Honored Elders of the Yun clan, I would like to take this opportunity to request my dear cousin Yun Linjue's hand in marriage", he said. A lot of nervous chatter broke out amongst the crowd, this was the custom during these events but few youngsters ever truly had the gall to ask for Yun Linjue's hand.Â
"Absolutely not.", came a resounding reply, it was Yun Hao- to everyone's surprise, the normally silent young master Yun spoke up- and he no longer looked as sick as he did at the start of the evening. Yun Baihu was incensed to the point of laughter, "And you get to decide that?", he sneered, "Of course I do, you simply aren't worthy", came Yun Hao's prompt reply. This exchange had silenced all conversations in the banquet, even the Elders were shaken. They wondered where the little runt of the family gained so much confidence from, they worried that they would have to intervene and protect the young master- possibly losing a genius of the clan.
"You? Yun Hao the dog who can't even cultivate is telling ME that I'm not worthy? Even your parents did not-", before he could finish his sentence a shocking scene unfolded- even the Elders were unable to see what happened in that moment. Yun Baihu's upper body had erupted into a blood mist and standing in front of him was Yun Hao with his fist raised, a troubled expression on his face...
'I thought I controlled my strength enough... what a weakling...' he thought.
'Ding! Congratulations to the Host for killing the Yun clan genius Yun Baihu! Rewarding 100 passive skill points!'
The notification troubled Yun Hao, it seemed he could not live as quietly as he had hoped if he wanted to become strong enough to not bother about the formalities and troubles of the outside world. He would inevitably have to fight and kill to earn more of these points and resources in the future. He took a deep breath and calmed down, along with this breath his sixth meridian had just been perfected putting him in the upper level of the Qi Meridian realm. Although it took a while to describe it, this was all in the same moment...
Just as it registered in the minds of the onlookers what had happened, another guest seemed to have just arrived. A servant ran into the banquet hall in a slight panic, followed by a man in a majestic golden robe that was embroidered with silver and black dragons. This man is the emperor of Tianzhong and Yun Hao's uncle, Yun Tianwu. Behind him were a small group of Imperial Knights who emanated a threatening aura and maintained a disciplined silence. As they entered the banquet hall, they too stopped and witnessed Yun Hao's feat, standing there with his fist still raised.
"Does anyone else dispute my judgement of who is worthy of my sister?", with a slight theatrical flair and crying on the inside, Yun Hao broke the silence. This set off a chain reaction and the whole banquet hall erupted into discussions, the Bai clan elders who had arrived as guests were probably the ones having the most heated discussion since it was one of their family's youngsters who had just been extinguished in front of them. Yun Baihu's mother is also the cousin of Yun Baifeng's mother, the Bai clan had also recently risen in power amongst the nobles. "How dare you unscrupulously kill in this joyous event?", one of the Elders reprimanded, "I was not intending to kill him, but he should have expected death for rudely referring to my parents- he was too weak for his own good", came Yun Hao's reply.
Yun Zhuyang stood up at this moment, "Elder Brother! I'm terribly sorry that I was not there to welcome you!", at this point, no one had realized that the Emperor himself was standing in the hall and nobody had greeted him yet. The Bai clan elders promptly grew silent. "Fret not, younger brother, your son is quite the crouching tiger! I do not mind", the Emperor's seemingly nonchalant reply immediately diffused the situation, who would question the situation any further- and by extension question the Emperor's dismissal of it? "Good nephew! I liked your domineering words! Let that be an example, do not lightly refer to anyone in the royal family, especially not my brother and sister-in-law, hahaha!", he declared.
Although he spoke exuding strength, Yun Hao still observed customs and had kneeled towards his uncle, "Yun Hao greets uncle", he greeted. Soon feeling a strong pair of hands on his shoulders raising him up, "Good child, you know your uncle when you see him huh?", Yun Tianwu chuckled as he made Yun Hao stand up. Partly because he was also the one who supported Yun Zhuyang to find treatments for his son, Yun Tianwu was blessed with the Empire and many wives, however he had not one son... but had several daughters- 14 to be exact. So he doted on his nephew, even though it was in secret and he let Yun Zhuyang take the credit for it in Yun Hao's heart. "Oh? It seems your constitution has cleared up!", Yun Tianwu's next sentence brought surprise to everyone in the room. Lin Xu Yue whispered in her husband's ear, informing him that she had observed Yun Hao's demeanor in the morning and seemed to have guessed correctly. "This is an event to celebrate indeed! Not only is my nephew cured, he is at the perfected Visceral tempering realm!", Yun Hao inwardly sighed in relief, this uncle of his was strongly probing his strength and he was barely able to hide it, directly revealing the aura at the limit of the Visceral Tempering realm.Â
An 11 year old perfected Visceral Tempering realm martial artist! A bomb went off in the minds of all the guests. A wide, ear-to-ear smile adorned the faces of Yun Hao's parents, they were worried- but at the same time they were extremely happy. Their greatest wishes had come true, their son Yun Hao who was unfortunately born with a compromised constitution had not only recovered but become stronger than anyone among his peers, by many multiples at that!
In the corner of the hall, Yun Zhuyang's second and third wives carefully wiped their foreheads, it was good that they did not put their sons up to any mischief today, their ending could be expected otherwise.
