"Well I'll be back late... again. Even though I really don't want to and you are.." Mao Shi began to argue for the 3rd time today, this morning infact.
"You're going" I said placing breakfast infront of her.
"I'm really leaving this time" she says after we are done eating and she's standing at the door looking at me hopefully but I give her an encouraging smile and push her out the door watching as she walks away sulking.
I do feel a bit bad but it's not my fault her team suddenly went work crazy just to advance to a tier. Speaking of a hasty need to advance it seems like the author is in a rush because I have that reader's intuition from reading countless classics that the story is about to come to an end and so is the series of my actions because it's in the air; the world is beginning to develop a palpable sense of unease as it penetrates the heart of every person in it and in response I will have to stay at home all day and read my novel to the end but before that I need to go visit the hidden area that has the second highest density concentration of mana hidden in a smart place; an asylum.
I take my car to the Psych Asylum and feign a visit to see my only family member walking instead to the director's office. I opened the door to a neat and tidy office that was in all aspects normal...and empty as I suspected it to be. I walked on the soft rug to the table and opened his laptop on the table sitting on his swinging chair to send a message containing a certain someone's power level and his high mana purity classifying him as a level 1 threat to him , also the list of spies in the enemy territory and all this was made to look like it was sent from the person whose messages had the highest authority in his contacts that I searched through.
I finished then stood up from the chair and walked back out the building creating a small hole in their camouflage using my own means then I drove to a grocery store to buy food for the long run. I arranged the groceries in the store then changed my state of mind to never going out because I'm not going out until the end is near.

After that day, Xu Ling began to train and take on mission seriously especially guiding the new addition of their team who acknowledged him as his new brother while reaching the S grade along with Yihui from solving missions related to the guys that created the kitchen knife. Honestly Xu Ling was worried about the little guy to be exposed to the cruelty of this world but he was given no choice since he was a target and ...also bait to draw out the enemy but he got not a single trace. Contrary to what he would like to feel about it, he began to develop a tugging sense of unease and anxiety with his days filled with it. In a desperate attempt to get his mind out of his problems he died into going out with his friends and family.
Somehow the topic of relationship came about and he mentioned Yihui without thinking about it and this resulted in a push from his family to ask her out. Well if you call a little push to be that his mother and sister practically threatened to abandon him if he didn't make a move in such a pretty girl. After receiving the threats; he took it as a sign that it was time to confess about the feelings that had been growing in his heart since they began to work together and her comfort when she witnessed his growing anxiety to this point but the time between work was practically non-existent, you really can't ask the possible love of your life to a date when you're battling crazy people.
Surprisingly, he ended finding a rare alone time between them without the suicide squad or Chen Shu or Li Wei guiding them; at an asylum. It's not exactly a romantic place but he feels like they might make their move soon and he might not have a chance like this again.
"You really didn't have to come with me Ling" Yihui said smiling at him making him space out for a second reinforcing in his heart the determination to confess after this.
"I'm always happy to help a beauty" he says teasingly.
"Does that extend to other pretty people because kat is quite pretty too" she asked raising an eyebrow.
"Since when did we have a psych ward" he said dodging the question with a playful expression of why-don't-you-guess.
"Tsk alright then" she said unknowingly pouting which Xu Ling found incredibly cute.
"You haven't answered my question yet" he said turning away to resist the urge to kiss her by examining the building infront of them looking like a normal asylum.
"Well we had to keep those people we couldn't recycle somewhere so they converted it into an asylum" she said
"How do they keep them in" he asks curious
"This place was always a prison for those that use mana we just fine tuned it a bit"
"So hunters regularly visit here on shifts to serve as what exactly"
"Well as deterrent because after all they do belong in an asylum due to their insanity so they will try to escape or harm the guards if left unattended to" she said
"How thorough" he said nodding
"Yes the corporation is very good at its job" she said giving a sad smile. Xu Ling stretched out his hand to grab hers and gave it a comforting squeeze.
"Why don't we go for a date after this" he said smiling at her.
"Is it what I think it is Hunter Xu Ling" she said teasingly with a sly smile which made it one of the rare times that Xu Ling has a huge blush in his face but he muttered to man up and just say it since the moment was looking right and they were alone.
"Yihui.. since I met you, I.."

Xu Ling froze and looked at the building which was surrounded by a thick cover of dark mana with a faint string of mana leaking and thought that they didn't need to make a move on him with such a powerful secret base but did this system have to detect it at this time, it's definitely on purpose and Xu Ling felt that the red screen was angry too.
"Xu Ling what's wrong" Yihui said tensing looking around.
"It seems like I found a clue and we would need to call the others" he said feeling reluctant cursing the stupid system in his head.
