Chapter 1 - The Day It All Began

June 14 2030

18:00

The apocalypse descended. It came in a form unexpected but deserving of an apocalypse, lightning flashed and the sky split open.

People screaming as pandemonium decended accompanied with the loss of life and damages to property.

But in all this a certain individual laid motionless in the midst of the chaos in a small space quite... peaceful and unperturbed.

He had snow white skin,a similarly colored hair with a hint of red at the edges and an angelic face to add.

All these came to an end with a swift sound of an explosion close to his resting place turning the somewhat manageable place to rubble and sending a sorry looking figure flying.

"Damn it! Is some sleep too much to ask!!"Adrian cursed as he got back up and dusted his clothes before looking around to see who dared to do such.

A beautiful, valiant looking lady stood on one side of the rubble holding a sword encased in bone-chilling blue flames faced against what could only be described as straight out of a fantasy novel.

Standing at the size of an armored car with a body built like one was a minotaur and with a wicked two faced axe in its left hand growling with red evil looking eyes.

The area suddenly became quiet after the words said by Adrian with both parties looking at him.

"Nevermind me you guys just continue with your meeting don't mind me"Adrian said immediately turning to walk away before the woman could say anything leaving the two parties in puzzlement and confusion.

The minotaur's confusion quickly became anger as it suddenly roared loudly before pouncing in Adrian's direction.

"Your opponent is me beast!" The woman shouted loudly before intercepting the minotaur quickly attacking it with her sword.

Her words seemed to worsen things as the minotaur let out a thoroughly enraged roar before it's body became blood red and expanded by two feet.

It quickly let out a shockingly powerful attack which sent the woman flying into the nearby rubble and once again jumped toward Adrian's direction axe poised for destruction.

The woman climbed out quickly and shouted but it was already too late by then.

She rushed towards the minotaur quickly hoping to at least deflect it's attack.

"Sigh"

A seemingly simple action which no one would take as much of anything became a catalyst for something unbelievable.

The young man who's redeeming quality seemed to only be his exceptionally handsome face and tall figure suddenly turned and stretched out a finger towards the minotaur's axe.

Time seemed to stop all of a sudden. The woman and minotaur froze mid air both focused at the point of connection between the man's finger and the minotaur's axe.

"Begone"he said as he flicked his finger effortlessly at the axe suddenly causing a shockwave.

The minotaur and it's axe were both suddenly turned to ashes on the spot and the only proof of it's existence was a massive straight line of destruction and a black fist sized core.

Adrian sighed once more before turning around and walking away not once looking at the core of the minotaur.

"Wait..please wait!"the young lady shouted after dusting herself off and chasing after Adrian.

Adrian pretended not to hear her and quickened his pace but she still caught up, overtaking and finally blocking his way arms spread.

"What do you want?"he asked coldly looking her straight in the face.

The lady a bit stunned by his cold reaction didn't know what to say at first.

"Umm...I...I just wanted to thank you"she said bowing her head in thanks red faced.

"U're welcome. If that's all I'll be going now."She heard accompanied with the sound of retreating footsteps.

"Ahh,wait senior!"she shouted once again chasing after Adrian before stopping him again.

"I know that I might be coming off as annoying"

"Yes you are"

"If only I can get a bit of your time senior"

"No you can't"

"I would really appreciate it"she said bowing deeply.

"I doubt you'll take no for an answer?"he said mouth twitching ever so slightly.

"No.I won't "she replied smiling ever so brightly.

"Sigh..."

"Great"she replied taking his sigh of defeat as a yes.

"First off my name's Mia Kingston"She said stretching out a hand smiling brightly.

"Adrian Alistar"he replied ignoring her hand and choosing to bypass her moving forward.

"Nice name"Mia said choosing to ignore the earlier awkward moment and follow behind him.

"Where are you from Adrian?"

"I don't know."

"I'm from Greenville valley."

"Do you have any family members?"

"I don't think so."

"Well I have five siblings with me making us six. We're kinda spread evenly three boys and three girls."

"... it's kinda hectic over there..."

"...I really miss them a lot..."

If it is one thing that Adrian found out about Mia is that she was a certified chatterbox.

He was sure that within the last few hours of their moving together (more like her following him),that he now knew about 60% of her childhood along with the ups and downs which was unbelievable but with that one could imagine just how much she talked.

When they finally settled down in front of a somewhat intact small building with a few cracks here and there Adrian jumped on the roof and layed down on it looking up at the night sky thinking of God knows what.

Mia softly landed next to him and to his Surprise didn't say anything just looking up as well mouth closed and eyes distant.

Adrian stopped focusing on her and thought more on events that lead to this moment.

Three days ago

Some hours before the end

6:00am

Beep!Beep!Beep!

Accompanied by a low growl and chaotic movement in the dark space before settling with a crash and the absence of the beeping followed by a low grunt as if to approve the silence.

Today was just like every other day in Adrian's lazy life.Get up freshen up a bit, type some words in the computer, play some games, other food and then finally sleep.

He was single and happy to be so, relationships were too much of a bother anyway plus he absolutely didn't like going out.

He has always been like this as long as he could remember.

Alone.

Not that he hated company or disliked associating with people but he saw it as a bother.
