Chapter 12: Family

Lucian replayed the whole event in his mind, analyzing them carefully. He had received a lot of information through this meeting. FaithHaven Academy, Entrance Test, Foundational Elements, Mana wave frequency, Mana Pressure, Starseed Initiate Rank, and a lot more.

Let's return home first. He mumbled, approaching Zeph and Kiara after exiting the building.

Alright guys, I shall take my leave now. He announced.

Bye.

See you soon.

They parted ways and approached their carriage respectively.

Lucian entered his carriage and nodded to Zilton's greetings.

Let's go. He ordered and slumped back on the seats feeling tired.

Zilton whipped the reins and ordered the horses to move forward.

Congratulations, dear. Selene gently embraced her child with a happy smile on her face. Her worriness had vanished completely upon sensing Lucian's mana.

Congratulations son. Kaelen lightly patted his shoulders with a proud dad face on him. Let's talk inside. He responded entering the mansion.

Lucian and Selene followed after him.

Let's hear your story now, Kaelen smiled as he gazed into his son's eyes. Selene sat beside him. Both were curious about his awakening ceremony.

Hmm…where should I start? Lucian pondered a while before starting his explanation from the beginning.

A few hours passed by,

So, you're saying you've awakened cosmic energy, a superior form of Mana that lets you utilize any and every element.

Yes.

Not only that, you've also met with the planet's consciousness which is a divine being, and exchanged conversations with it.

Yes, although it was more like guidance.

Hmm…you do understand that the things you've explained till now are quite difficult for us to believe, right?

Oh, I understand it clearly. In fact, I find it quite unbelievable despite having experienced it myself. Lucian responded, not minding their peculiar expression.

He had been debating on whether to explain everything or not inwardly but decided to go with it either way since Solara hadn't specifically mentioned anything about hiding it.

Although he wouldn't casually leak such information to anyone other than his parents, he wasn't worried about them leaking the information either since they understood its weight.

Lucian had already requested his father to envelop them in a soundproof barrier as a protection measure too.

By the way... did something unusual happen when I was born? Lucian asked, his voice low with curiosity.

Kaelen and Selene shared a silent, knowing look before Selene finally spoke, her voice soft but tinged with awe.

My dear, on the day you entered this world, something extraordinary and unexplainable took place.

Unexplainable? Lucian leaned forward, intrigued.

Yes, Selene continued. It was high noon, the sun blazing overhead, when suddenly... the sky became a tapestry of stars. Thousands of them—each brilliant and clear, shimmering as though it were midnight. They circled the sun, casting starlight across the land. People across the continent stopped to gaze at the heavens, mesmerized. It was as if time itself had paused to witness your arrival.

She paused, her voice barely above a whisper. It lasted only moments, but it was enough to capture the world's attention and stir wonder and fear alike. Luckily, the stars faded quickly, sparing us from... certain dangers.

Lucian's pulse quickened. Certain dangers?

Kaelen cleared his throat. Yes. Some great powers ruling the current world. He remained silent upon reciting these words.

Lucian too became silent upon hearing those words. Great Power? Ruling the world? Huh?!

Don't think too much about it. A firm hand landed on his shoulders, Just become strong and you'll find the answers yourself. Kaelen replied.

Lucian silently nodded his head.

Anyway, It's been a while since I last sparred with you. Let's see how strong have you become. Kealen flashed a smile before him.

Uhh…Umm…You see…

Can't you see his condition? Selene intervened, He's tired and hungry from experiencing all these events. Let him have some rest. Her voice was a bit higher than usual as she glared at Kaelen.

Kaelen coughed feeling embarrassed from his wife's words. Lucian heaved a sigh of relief and thanked his mother inwardly.

Let us have our spar tomorrow. He announced and left the room.

I've prepared a lot of food to celebrate your successful awakening. Let's go, dear. Selene stood up and approached the dining room with Lucian following her.

They had a wonderful dinner together and Lucian excused himself afterward, entering his room.

He changed his clothes and slumped directly on his bed, sleeping peacefully. The poor guy was completely unaware of all the troubles that he will be experiencing in the future.

Are you ready? Kaelen asked, gazing at Lucian who stood before him. They were inside the training room prepared by his father.

Kaelen stood casually with his usual cold expression. He wasn't carrying any weapon on him since he didn't need one against his current opponent.

Lucian clutched his sword tightly with slight nervousness across his face. He had sparred with his father countless times and had always lost within a minute. His father was an absolute beast with a rational and calculative mind.

He felt quite pressured by Kaelen's aura but he firmly planted his foot on the ground and withstood it instead of cowering back.

Utilize everything in your arsenal else you might regret it later. Kaelen replied.

fuu

Lucian nodded his head and circulated the cosmic energy within him, strengthening his body with it.

I can't even touch the helm of his clothes by approaching him directly. Lucian remembered the [Whispering Wind Step] that he'd learned from his father. This footstep technique that utilized the wind for immense agility and mobility was his father's expertise.

Kaelen's mastery over this technique was exceptionally high compared to himself. In every single spar, He would lose every time through exhaustion rather than a thorough beating.

I need to catch him off-guard. But the main question remains, How? Lucian pondered deeply. His goal for now wasn't defeating his father but was landing a proper hit on him. Although just that alone seemed incredibly difficult to achieve for him.

I will somehow achieve it today. Lucian thought inwardly with unwavering determination in his eyes.

Show me then, son. Kaelen smiled.
