Delvic and Alaric would meet up in the evening under the apple tree.Alaric would do the talking while Delvic listened. It became a norm that the have to meet and play or to put it right Alaric would play with the kitten while Delvic watched.
Time flew by and Alaric had to join boarding school. She was sad because she didn't want to be away from her only true friend.
She only enjoyed his company . It's not like she had no other friends , the neighborhood had kids of her age but they would make fun of her since she had no father or mother.
Where are your parents? They would ask
Did they abandon you?
You must have been a terrible child for your parents to abandon you. Whenever Alaric heard of these remarks, she would dash back to the house and lock herself in her room and cry her heart out. She did not want to tell them that her parents had become stars and the moon like granny had told her. She did not see the need to explain herself to those mean kids.
Delvic was different, he had never asked her of her parents. When she had told him that her parents lived in the sky, Delvic had replied " yours are better mine lives where the sun never shines" oh, I pity your parents, may be we can ask papa to shine on them, she had suggested . Delvic couldn't hide his amusement. And who is your papa Alaric?
It's the moon, the moon is my papa and together with mommy they shine in the sky.
Anyway I came to let you know that am joining boarding school. So from tomorrow I won't come to meet you. Okay it's no problem we can play when you are home for the holidays.
And that is how they had been in contact. Meeting on holidays mostly in the evenings.
Alaric had asked him about his school, where do you school Delvic. He always evaded answering the questions about his school. One day I will take you there, maybe you can brighten it, brighten what? You mean your school is dull... You can wear bright clothes she had suggested. No that place you can wear only black ,... Oh noooo little Alaric was worried of his friend always wearing black clothes as if in mourning.
Then you should change school, she suggested. Do you live with your granny? She wanted to know about him but he didn't give much information about himself. He would listen to her talk while evading answering most of her questions.
He would tell her little about himself but that is the bright side that won't scare her away.
She was some sort of entertainment to him..
Delvic didn't really understand what made him come to see this little girl. Other than being away from his kingdom he liked talking to Alaric. She was a talkative one and a sweet soul. He wondered what will happen after she comes to know that he isn't just a kid, he is a monster, maybe he should try to prank her to see her reaction
