Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: The Fainting

With his body aching, Leo arrives at his classroom. He enters, and luckily for him, the class had not started.

He walks to his seat and throws himself on it. As if it were his bed.

Lucas saw that Leo threw himself on the table as he always did.

-He acts the same as always.- He thought, doubting whether Leo was or was not the person he saw in the athletics club. Lucas was obsessed with athletics. Participating in all the competitions he could since he was a child. That is why when he saw someone starting or hesitating to do it, he always encouraged them and gave them all the advice he could.

Just when he was going to ask Leo, the teacher starts talking.

-Good morning. Today we will finish with module 8. Everyone open your booklet...

The class went by pretty quickly for Leo. He had been focusing on using the English knowledge he read in the book.

Clang clang clang clang

When the bell rang, everyone started to put away their supplies and went out for the break.

Leo hurriedly went to the dining room to eat lunch. With the amount of exercise he did today, he felt like eating an entire cow.

While he was waiting in line to fill his tray, Lucas, who was in a group with his friends, approached him from behind and asked.

-Hey Leo, did you start running in the athletics club?.-

Leo, startled by the sudden question, turned his head stiffly and answered.

-Ehh, yes. I started running yesterday.- Leo answered timidly and then asked- How do you know?-

-What? Didn't the sun hurt you?- exclaimed one of Lucas's friends who heard the conversation. Then, as if realizing it, he looked at Leo and moved one of his arms making several signs of the cross.

-Your race has already evolved to that point- Looking at him with a pale face.

Seeing his performance, his friends around him laugh at his antics.

Leo, not understanding what was happening, looks at him with a face full of doubts. Lucas slaps his friend's hand and pushes him away.

-Don't pay attention to this idiot. I just wanted to know if it was you.- Lucas told him.

-Oh okay.- Leo answered doubtfully. Then he rearranged himself in the queue that had moved forward.

After stuffing himself with a good amount of food, Leo continued with his classes. Where he was able to confirm if the knowledge he had read could be applied in the different exercises.

At the end of the last class, which was math with Professor Adams. He approached Leo at the end.

-Hey Leo, how have you recovered from the accident? I see that you move with some discomfort.- He asked him as he approached the young man when he was finishing putting away his supplies.

-Good good, teacher. Thanks for visiting me and bringing the study material. I'm actually in pain because I started doing some exercises this morning.-

-Oh it's good that you started going out a little. Were you able to read the material? It seems that you were more active this class.-

-Sisi, although I still couldn't read all the books. When I finish I'll bring them back to you.- Leo answered, making an excuse to hide the tiredness of his body.

-Sure, no rush.- Adams tells him happily since the little one was changing his habits for the better.

Leo leaves school and returns to his house slowly. When he arrives, he begins to notice that his body is too heavy. Staggering, he enters his room and lies down on his bed.

After a few hours, he hears his mother's cry telling him that dinner is ready.

After a while, and noticing that her son wasn't coming, Elena goes to his room. Upon entering, she finds Leo lying face down with his school uniform still on. She approaches him and pats him while asking him to get up. When she touches him, she notices that he has a slight fever. It didn't seem very serious, just about 37°C.

Leo wakes up slowly when he feels the movements.

-You finally woke up. Stay like this so I can bring you something to eat. Luckily I made something light. - His mother told him when she saw him wake up. Then she goes to the kitchen to bring him food to bed.

Leo pulls himself together and sits up properly. In addition to feeling heavy and a little hot, he feels that his sore muscles have recovered a little.

-Hold on, why is my body so heavy?.-

-[Every time you do exercises, the body will have 2 recovery rates. The first is when the body is still active. In this case the rate will be lower. And the second is when the body is at rest or at rest. Here the rate increases, producing a more accelerated regeneration. The reason why you feel heavier is that your body suddenly entered into rest mode due to the high physical activity it had during the day. This happened because the user's body is not used to physical exercise. After about a week, it would adapt.]

-I see-

Leo quickly understood. When at rest, his body focuses on recovering damaged cells. Giving him a feeling of heaviness and heat.

After a while, his mother returns with a board that had several plates on it.

-Sit up, so I can leave this for you.- She puts the board on his legs and looks at him.

-I know you want to improve quickly. But even a machine gets tired, son. You must take a break in between, okay?-

-Okay, mom.-

Leo, seeing his mother leave, begins to eat everything she had eagerly.

It seems my appetite has grown quite a bit. Increased regeneration has its things, huh?
