Chapter 17 - sixteen

Blinking in mild disinterest, I turned my gaze to Minho, who was now looking at me with a smile.

"Truth or dare?" he asked.

I didn't give it much thought and replied in a slightly tired voice, "Truth."

Beside me, I heard Gigi mutter, "Boring," clearly unimpressed with my choice.

"So," he began, his tone casual but curious, "are you dating someone right now?"

It took me a moment to fully process his question. When it finally registered, I frowned slightly and answered with a firm, "No."

But then, as I glanced around the circle, I noticed everyone's expressions—shock, confusion, and Ari was giving me a look that I couldn't quite place.

Gigi was barely containing her laughter beside me, while Shu had a hand over her mouth, her eyes wide with amusement.

What is going on?

Feeling increasingly irritated and confused by their reactions, I knitted my brows as I crossed my arms and said, "Why are you staring at me like that?"

Seriously, can someone fill me in? Because I have no idea what's happening right now.

I could see Gigi and Shu off to the side, laughing like they'd just heard the joke of the century. It was infuriating. I felt completely left out, like the punchline of some inside joke no one was willing to explain.

"Oh, Yuu," Gigi said, still giggling as she placed a hand on my shoulder. "You're so obliviously innocent." Her words came out between fits of laughter, only adding to my irritation.

Any trace of sleepiness I'd felt earlier was long gone now, replaced by pure annoyance.

Obliviously innocent? Me?

How dare Gigi make such a ridiculous comment. Sure, I might have an innocent-looking face, but trust me—I am far from being an innocent gal.

"Alright, alright. Stop glaring," Gigi said, patting my back in an attempt to calm me down and prevent me from shooting daggers at her with my eyes. "Spin the bottle now, Ice Princess," she teased with a smirk.

"Stop calling me that," I groaned, and without another word, I spun the bottle.

I swear to God, if this bottle lands on either Gigi or Shu, they're going to get a taste of their own medicine. Mark. My. Words.

It seemed like Saint Jesus was finally on my side because the bottle stopped right at Gigi.

Turning to her with a devilish grin, I asked, "Truth or dare, Gigi?"

I noticed her gulp, clearly nervous about what I might have in store for her.

Oh, she should be nervous.

Sweet, sweet revenge was finally within my grasp, and I was definitely going to make it count.

"Truth," Gigi said immediately, voice firm, like she was preparing for battle.

"Boring," Yujin chimed in with a dramatic eye roll. "Don't be such a coward, Gi. Pick dare."

"Yeah, Gigi, listen to her. Don't be such a coward," I added, my devilish grin growing wider by the second.

"Oh, I know what you're playing at, Yuu," Gigi shot back, her sly smirk matching my own. "You're not fooling me."

"What?" I replied, feigning innocence as I widened my eyes. "I'm not gonna do anything!"

The people in the circle started chiming in, urging Gigi to change her pick. Honestly, I didn't even have to lift a finger—they were doing my work for me.

After a bit of bantering with Somi and Yujin, Gigi finally caved.

"Fine. Dare," she said with a dramatic sigh.

If you could hear my thoughts right now, my laugh would be so wicked that Saint Jesus himself would flee in terror.

"Great choice, Gigi. You won't regret this," I said sweetly, lying through my teeth.

"God, just get on with it already," she huffed, rolling her eyes.

"I dare you…" I began, drawing out the suspense, "…to talk to a random person and ask if they do waxing."

I could already hear her groaning in protest, but I wasn't done.

"Then," I added, smirking, "ask how much for a Brazilian."

She scoffed, glaring at me. "You're insane."

I simply gave Gigi my sweetest, most innocent smile in return.

"I'd say it's a solid dare. After all, that's how the game works, isn't it?" I said, flashing her a grin that could rival any villain.

"Oh, you're so on," Gigi shot back, standing up with exaggerated confidence.

We all watched as she approached a random person leaning against the bar counter, visibly flustered as she asked the ridiculous question.

Laughter erupted from the circle as Gigi's face turned an amusing shade of red, struggling to keep her composure.

"Didn't know Yumi was such a prankster," Somi said, laughing as she glanced at me.

I blinked, momentarily taken aback by her comment. Before I could respond, someone else chimed in.

"We thought you were, like, one of those people who doesn't know how to have fun," said a girl I didn't recognize, seated beside Ari.

"Yeah," Yujin added with an irritating laugh that grated on my nerves. "Every time you walk past us, you've got this look—like you're ready to kill someone."

I raised an eyebrow at that. Really? That's how people see me? Well… good. I'd actually like to keep it that way.

I was about to fire back at Yujin when, of course, Shu decided to pipe up, completely derailing the conversation with her usual antics.

"Yuu might looked like an angry Maltese all the time," she began, her voice dripping with faux adoration, "but she's actually a total softie."

I have a bad feeling about this.

She followed it up with grabby hands, cooing at me like I was a literal baby.

"Every night, she sits in the living room in her dinosaur onesie, watching Bluey while waiting for us to come home. It's seriously the cutest thing ever."

I felt my cheeks flush, my embarrassment deepening as I heard Ari muffled a laugh beside her.

Great. Now she knows.

I shot Shu a glare that could burn a hole through steel, but she just giggled, clearly thrilled to have humiliated me in front of everyone.

God, I'm never going to live this down.
