"Hey, wake up! We're gonna be late if you don't wake up right this moment Sero!" a girl's voice called out.
A boy still fast asleep slowly rose up from the bed, clearly still half asleep.
"Hey, what's up? It's so early in the morning," Sero asked Ellie, still rubbing his eyes. "I don't think that there is anything that we need to do today."
"Of course we need to do something today! We promised to meet the others at the library!" Ellie told him. She was his childhood friend ever since kindergarten, and they have been closely together after reuniting.
Sero looked at her with a bit of surprise l. "Oh right, now I remember. I'll meet you downstairs after I get dressed," he told her.
"You better come quickly!" she said as she headed downstairs. "We gotta go soon!"
He saw her disappear down the stairs of the house, and then sighed. He thought about how much she has changed over the couple years that they've not seen each other. He remembered how she used to be such a reserved and shy girl back in the days, and it took him a while before he broke through the barrier. He remembered how she would always cling by his side, and how she always acted so cutely when he was with her. He also remembered her long, bright pink hair, and how she used to feel insecure about it since everyone had blonde or black hair, before he finally made her accept that it was no different from the others. He also remembered her beautiful and sweet blue eyes that curiously looked around everywhere wherever they went. Nowadays, the sweet and shy girl has shifted 360 and was now a loud and energetic girl that he could not keep up with. She still had the pink hair and the blue eyes, but now they were full of energy just like everything else about her.
He wondered just what had happened the past couple of years that they've been separated for, as he recall her leaving for all of high school. He remembered how different she looked when she arrived at his door yesterday and how shocked he was when she announced that she would be living with him for now. He tried to get a reason out of her, however she would not reveal her purpose and deliberately change the subject to avoid the question. After a week of trying to pry out an answer, he gave up and just went along with it.
He went to the closet and took out his adventurer's gear and wore them, since they would be going to the guild to take up some quests. He then grabbed some bags since they would be collecting a lot today and started to head downstairs.
Meanwhile, Ellie Tuner was downstairs in the kitchen, making breakfast. As she was cooking, she thought about how they were going to meet their friends at the library, then head over to the adventurer's guild to pick up some quests to earn money. Her mind drifted off to her childhood friend, Sero Helok, who has allowed her to stay with him for the time being. Of course, this is likely due to how she is his childhood friend and how they've been together since the dawn of time. She thinks about how much he has changed in the "short" time that they have not seen each other. He has grown much taller, much more stronger, and definitely much handsomer. The way he looks at her with his cold but soft black eyes and how he does almost everything perfectly always made her heart flutter. Not to mention his strong sense of justice, but at the same time the ability to look at things from both points of view. She blushes furiously, trying to get herself in control. She couldn't bring to tell him her reason for her visit, as she feared that if that happened, then their relationship would change.
(You know, I'm smelling some romance lingering in the air >:-D)
"Yo, what are you making?", Sero asked, popping out of nowhere.
"WhaAgH!" Ellie screamed, jumping out of her thoughts.
"Whoa, you good there? You nearly dropped that… what is it that you're making? It looks like some sort of mixture between a very burnt steak and a brick," Sero said, pointing to the now burnt abomination on the stove.
"Oh crap, the breakfast!" Ellie cried out as she looked at the now ruined "food" (even I have no clue what it was).
"Well, we can drop by somewhere for breakfast later. We got to get going now," Sero pointed out, looking at the time.
"Right…" Ellie responded, upset that she wasn't able to show her cooking skills.
As the left the house, they passed many places that they once visited together when they were young. Ellie saw a park with a group of kids and instantly recalled about the time when she lost her lucky charm. They spent the entire day trying to look for the charm, until Ellie found it in her pocket.
"Ahh, it was a unique interesting search," Sero joked, seeming to read her mind.
"Sorry about that," she told him, clearly embarrassed. "I was a stupid and naive girl back then."
"Nah, that was funny and cute of you. I liked you better that way," Sero said out of nowhere with a smile.
Ellie's face flushed red even more. "Hey, stop teasing me like that!"
"Haha, okay, okay. My bad," Sero answered, still smiling.
Ellie puffed her cheeks and turned her head away from him.
They soon reached their destination, the library, where they could see their friends gathered in one spot.
"Yo, how are you guys!" A boy called out. His name was Domfan, and he was Sero's friend from high school.
"What's good! I'm doing fine! Thanks for asking," Sero responded.
"That's good. Anyways the others are inside so come along!" Domfan said to them.
"Alrighty, let's meet our friends, shall we?" Sero asked Ellie, still smiling from his earlier comment.
"Alright, let's go," Ellie responded, still annoyed about his teasing.
The three of them then started to head over to the entrance of the enormous and prestigious library, where their friends were waiting.
