Chapter 1 - Rebirth

"Pour more water"

"Please Shivji, please save her"

.

.

The frantic voices in the background were noisy.

Cold.Dizzy.

'Who is talking'.

Suddenly, a wave of cold water came pouring down, interrupting her train of thought. Before she could make sense of anything, her vision darkened, and she fainted.

.

.

When Beeti came to, she found herself lying on a familiar shoulder, enveloped in the warm, comforting scent she had missed for quite some time.

'Maa.'

Just as she tried to open her eyes, her eyelids felt heavy, and she fell asleep.

When Beeti woke up again, it was already the next day. After opening her eyes, she saw the white ceiling, a somewhat old ceiling fan and tubelight, which are different from her rental room.As she took in her surroundings, she confirmed she should be in a hospital.

Just then, she saw the calendar on the wall, which read xx xx 2004. "No wonder it looks decades old". Before Beeti could grasp the situation she was in, she saw her mother, looking younger than she remembered, walking into the general ward and coming to her hospital bed.

"Sister (nurse) how is my daughter? Is she okay?" A gentle yet worried voice laced with fatigue asked.

"No worries. It's good you guys gave her cold water bath, the fever almost burned her brain." A kind voice said in a reassuring tone. Continuing, "the water helped to take down the fever. You can take her home in about an hour."

" Thank you sister ". The gentle voice of her mother rang.

From the conversation between the nurse on duty and her mother, Beeti knew she was running high fever, which explains the earlier dizziness and the current faint warm temperature she was feeling.

As she looked into her mother's worried eyes, Beeti felt the familiar darkness enveloping her.

**A Few days later**

.

Durgapur, a village in nestled in DIGLIPUR NORTH Andaman, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, India.

.

.

At the foot of the mountain, a hut was built in the reclaimed land. There was a chubby one-and-a-half year doll, seating on a palm leaf mat, and was sighing from time to time, making anyone looking her way laugh in amusement.

.

.

It had already been a few days, and Beeti already had a pretty good understanding of her current situation.

However bizarre it may sound, she had been reborn. It sounds incredulous, but as an avid reader of novels with themes of transmigration and rebirth, Beeti was able to accept the fact that she has been reborn surprisingly calmly.

But why?

She didn't have any grudges, unfulfilled obsessions, or ancient artifacts. So, why had she been given a second chance in life? Still unaware of the upcoming future and the reason behind her rebirth, she tried hard to recall the incoming events from her privious life.

When reading novels about rebirth, the protagonists easily changed their life trajectory after their rebirth. But Beeti's situation was different. Reborn as a 1.5-year-old, she was powerless to change her family's fate without arousing suspicion.
