Chereads / Wayfaring Stranger / Chapter 18 - Making Them Watch

Chapter 18 - Making Them Watch

It had been nearly three days since I practically wiped out all the Death Eaters and turned Voldemort into a vegetable. I didn't even know if what I did was legilimency or some other form of mind scrying. Nearly three days since I saw Vela Black jump worlds like I had seen Cirilla done in the past. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised that the Elder Blood was still dominant in the Black family despite all the inbreeding.

I had kept to myself the past few days. More so on fear that if I let myself get taken in for 'questioning' that I would have to actually fight my way out. I didn't fear the fighting, no. I feared potentially harming innocents because a few idiotic individuals thought they could contain me.

With that train of thought I shuddered. Godhood was getting to me whether I wanted it to or not. Decades ago I would have never seen myself as someone above anyone else. But that was just it, I was above these people. I couldn't deny the fact that my will over reality was much stronger than what magicals could accomplish with their spells. I had no drawbacks like they did, I could create and destroy without having to worry about magical exhaustion or time limits. I had come here originally just wanting a break from myself and the fighting in the worlds I had been to. Though now I see that jumping into a world where a dark wizard was running around causing mayhem with a war knocking on the door while expecting a peaceful outcome was rather foolish on my part.

Still, I never expected to be drawn into squabbling or fighting. I had only wanted to experience what going to a magical school that I had read about growing up would be like. I guess that was the blunder on my part. I could have just chosen a reality that had already overcome said difficulties, but instead I let my drive for adventure dictate where I went. No point in crying over spilled milk now. I was in the thick of it and I was going to clean up my mess before I left.

The aurors and unspeakables were examining the wards I had around my home for the past two days. It had taken them an entire day to find my 'temple'. The wards I put up myself had stood up to everything they threw at it and it was pretty entertaining watching and learning all the spells they used to try and bring down my defenses. Currently I sat on my front porch sipping a cup of tea while my trident floated lazily next to me. I had dismissed my house elf to my property in France the day I got back from slaughtering the would-be terrorists.

'Time to face the music.' I sighed internally.

Grabbing my trident I sent it back to my hammer space before walking to the edge of my wards. The people gathered outside took a step back and I grinned. Once I stepped out of the ward line a dozen stunning spells shot towards me. Ignoring the spells that splashed harmlessly agasint me I crossed my arms and waited as more spells were shot at me.

"Are you done?"

"Drop your shields and surrender!"

"You people…." I sighed again. "Do you never learn? What makes you geniuses think that I have shields? Some of you idiots are Unspeakables. The literal equivalent to magical special forces, and yet you're just like the rest of your brethren. Stupid as all hell and quite frankly it's insulting."

"Wh-"

"Shut the fuck up, I'm not done talking. Let me make it very clear to you. Nothing you do will affect me in any way. It should have been evident in the fact that a whole army of you couldn't find a way into my home. So, I am literally doing you a favor by playing nicely and going along with whatever dumbshit 'trial' your probably have planned with your stupid court system. Now, I have more important things to do like rescuing Vela Black from wherever her power took her so can we just get this show on the road?"

"Vela Black has been taken?"

"She was, she's managed to escape using a power only I am familiar with. She could be anywhere at the moment."

I could see greed growing in the Unspeakables eyes. They really were the equivalent of the CIA in the magical world.

"Alright, everyone back to headquarters. We'll escort Mr. Dimiourgos to the Wizenmagot chambers."

There was a fair bit of grumbling among the aurors before they popped away. A contingency of gray cloaked figures led me to the road where one of them held out a rope that I guessed was the portkey. Grabbing hold of one end I was pulled into darkness before being shot back out in a cavernous room I had only seen in the movies.

Dumbledore was already seated in the 'judge' seat. To his left and right were people I could not identify. Mainly because I had never seen them before but also because neither the books nor the movies went into detail about who each and every individual was. There were also a large number of empty seats. Mostly in the 'dark' section of the room.

'Must have been Death Eaters then.'

I followed an Unspeakable to a chair in the middle of the room. Taking my seat I was half expecting shackles or some sort of restraint to appear. When none did, I turned my attention back to Albus. He didn't have that signature twinkle in his eyes that people like to talk about. In fact, he looked every bit his age. Soon the room was filled and the 'trial' started.

"Lords and Ladies we are here to discuss the topi-"

"Let me stop you right there Albus."

"INCOLLENCE!"

"FUCK OFF!"

The man's mouth snapped shut, he had a look of shock in his face. I rolled my eyes before continuing.

"See how annoying it is when someone shouts in the middle of your sentence? Now where was I, oh yeah. Let me just save you guys the time. You're going to go on about how bad it was of me to kill all those people-"

"So you admit to the murder of multiple lords?"

"Murder? No, I see it as me purging the filth from this society."

Cries of outrage rang out in the chamber. Dumbledore cast a few cannon blasts from his wand to quite everyone down.

"Killing them was wrong, Theseus. They deserved to redeem themselves."

"Again with the redemption play," I pinched the bridge of my nose. This would take all day if Dumbledore had his way. "Fine, let me take you all on a little trip."

I waved my hand and the room shifted. The walls became transparent and revealed that it was now in the middle of the great hall in Hogwarts. People looked around in shock.

Students and teachers lay dying on the floor. Flashes of light flew around and various people drew their wands instinctively.

"Relax they can't see us."

"What is this?"

"This Dumbledore, is what happens when you play your little game of forgiveness and manipulations. Tom Marvolo Riddle attacks Hogwarts after taking down the ministry. And no, you fucks didn't go down fighting. You practically handed him the entire wizarding world."

The scene played out with more Death Eaters flooding the great hall. Bellatrix Lestrange casts a curse at Ginny Weasley who in turn deflects it to the ground before Molly Weasley kills her. I can see the familiarity displayed on several lords faces. Mainly the Prewett's and Arcturus who's eyes widened as he watched an older more gaunt version of Bellatrix disintegrate.

"Since that's not all too exciting for you guys let's start this from the beginning."

With another wave of my hand I shifted the scene to play out the entirety of all eight Harry Potter movies. At various moments I watched Dumbledore slump into his seat lower and lower as he saw himself. The scene finally shifted to one I pulled from an alternate timeline where Voldemort had won.

People gasped as they saw Voldemort sitting on a throne in the ruins of Hogwarts. Around him his Death Eaters knelt before him. Just then nukes fell from the sky obliterating everything and everyone. The bright light made everyone close their eyes momentarily only to open them once the scene had settled to the scorched ground and fiery sky.

"What you just saw was what would have happened if Dumbledore over here had his way. That was several hours that covered nearly an entire decade. In the end, if Voldemort would have won, the rest of the world would have declared magicals a threat and would have destroyed every single one of your towns and cities no matter how well hidden they are."

"Then we must band together against the Muggles!"

"And do what hmm? They know you exist. They allow you to keep living this way because you haven't done anything world ending yet. Let the dark lords run rampant and all you'll get is fire and death. You guys really think they're not capable of destroying entire cities with the push of a button?"

I raised my hand to shift us to when America dropped the bombs on Japan.

"Enough! I have seen enough. Theseus is right."

"Finally, you see some sense Dumbledore. This is a huge surprise. I was sure you'd keep on pushing your own holier than thou agenda."

"It's not everyday you see your own plans laid bare. With the authority vested in me I hereby clear you of all charges."

I waited for the cries of outrage, the spells shot at my back, even insults hurled my way. When everyone remained silent I turned to face the room. People were deep in thought. Some had gone visibly pale in what I showed them. I looked at Arcturus and nodded. With the idiotic trial over I flashed out of the room to the surprise of the Unspeakables and appeared in the Black manor. The three sisters greeted me along with the remaining adults.

"We heard everything on the wireless. What exactly did you show them."

"Ask your grandfather when he comes back Bellatrix."

She nodded before dragging her sisters away. I turned to Alphard and Cygnus.

"I'll be in the study."

Leaving them behind I made my way to the room with my sons painting. Shifting to my old form I looked at the portrait and smiled.

"I know that smile father. What have you done."

"I may have pulled a quick one on the Wizarding court."

"Was that wise? They could harm our family."

"Relax, they've got plenty to worry about before then. I came here to ask you a question."

I was a bit annoyed that they still haven't brought my daughter's portrait from their vault. Randy shifted uncomfortably in his frame.

"Son, it's nothing you're expecting. I'm just wondering how your powers differed from your mothers."

"Oh! Oh? What?"

"Vela Black. Your many times granddaughter. She's inherited the powers that come with the Elder Blood. The same blood that ran through your mother's veins as well as you and your siblings. I saw her jump worlds."

"That's… that's rather surprising, father. I had feared that after centuries of inbreeding that the power had degraded into simply being a bit more powerful than usual. What do you want to know?"

"Was the destination of your jumps random, or did you have any control on your location?"

"It was all subconscious as far as I remember. The first jump is usually the most disorienting."

"Damn, so she could be anywhere?"

Arcturus joined me in the study along with Alphard. He silently informed me that Cygnus and Druella had taken their children back to Hogwarts.

"Not anywhere no, she will obviously be in a habitable location. Tracking her is a whole different situation. You'd need another person with Elder Blood."

"Someone like Caranthir?"

"Yes, though I don't see anyone else having inherited the gift."

"Narcissa Black may have the gift. Her hair is as ashen as your mothers."

"Has she displayed any signs of the power?"

I turned to Arcturus who looked at Alphard they both shook their heads.

"We'll have to ask Cygnus but more than likely she has not."

"The power is first triggered by a high stress situation. Usually life or death, apparation is not uncommon though a bit rare in the case of accidental magic."

"Thanks Randy." He nodded before returning to his inanimate state. "Arcturus I'll get her back. I'll return to Hogwarts and ask her friends if they had any locations they frequented that she would go to."

"God speed Lord Theseus. And thank you. For not killing Orion and Walburga. Misguided as they are, they're still family."

"Don't go turning into Dumbledore on me now Arcturus. One of him is enough."

The man chuckled and shook his head. "We'll await the news you bring."

Flashing out of the study I returned to my home before changing into my Hogwarts robes. Facing my standing mirror I checked my appearance before flashing away again this time appearing in the great hall where the students were in the middle of dinner.
