Tian Lei shrugged nonchalantly. "I told you, I can already manipulate soul force. Healing your soul wasn't that difficult," he said. Internally, however, he smirked. Especially with my current special soul.
Not to mention I can kill you anytime want He inwardly thought, he was just betrayed he is no fool to just believe her, Her story is true, yes, but what about her intentions? He isn't sure about it, so he simply acted as if he is releasing her while in reality she is still chained they are just invisible chains and as long as she is with her, she is always imprisoned.
What he had shared with her so far was only a fraction of what he had gained. While he mentioned the Infinite Fortune Emperor Soul and a cultivation technique, the Golden Core had provided him with far more benefits:
Soul Devouring: Not only could he control soul energy within his Sea of Consciousness, but he could also extend it outside his body. This allowed him to devour the souls of those who hadn't even invaded his Sea of Consciousness, making all their knowledge his own.
The other ability was called the Golden Fortune Realm: it was a special realm accessible only by him. Though he didn't learn more about it as only after entering there will he learn more about this Artifact or whatever this Golden Orb is.
And more abilities would unlock as he grew in power, too.
Just wait, you bastards, and even that inner sect disciple. I will kill them all, he mumbled to himself as he remembered the pain and how his life flashed before his eyes when he was on his deathbed.
"Now I can accompany you and even teach you. I might look like this now, but I was once a very powerful cultivator, not to mention I still have my storage treasure with me," she said as Tian Lei's eyes lit up.
"Since you are from a sacred land, you must have lots of good stuff," he said eagerly, but Murong Yue shook her head.
"Most of the items I have are suited only for women," she replied, and Tian Lei's excitement faltered.
"But I have other things I obtained from that secret realm that you can use. Most of them can be used by you," she added, and Tian Lei nodded.
"So, will you live here from now on? In my Divine Sea?" he asked as he looked around.
"Yes, I will cultivate here. You have a lot of Soul Force, and it will surely help me grow stronger," she said.
"wait! did you say Divine Sea?" she asked, astonished. Having opened up the Sea of Consciousness and now having a Divine Sea are two different things entirely. With a Divine Sea, he could cultivate soul techniques and even use his Soul Force outside of his body, which was a great advantage. He can attack others soul and they won't have any defense against it, Having a defensive soul technique was like finding a heavenly opportunity—those were extremely rare, even many Sacred Lands didn't have them.
"Yes, it is not actually Sea of Consciousness but Divine Sea" He said though he also hid, it is not just any other divine Sea but something Called Infinite Fortune Divine Sea. As for it's uniqueness, the only thing he now is that he is immune to any Soul related attack or manipulation. Not even a Emperor Soul can do anything to him.
Tian Lei then asked, "And how were you planning to help me?"
"I was a Saintess of a Sacred Land... By the way, do you know what a Sacred Land is?" Murong Yue asked.
Tian Lei nodded. "I know the basics. Sects are divided into levels, starting from lowest-grade 9 sects all the way up to top-grade 1 sects. Beyond that are the King-class Sects, Emperor-grade Sects, Saint-grade Sects, and finally, Sacred Lands," he explained.
Murong Yue nodded approvingly. "Yes, that's enough for now," she said.
"Now, as I was saying," she continued, "being a Saintess, I had a high cultivation realm, so you can expect me to teach you a lot about cultivation techniques and principles. Second, I have attainments in alchemy and forging, so I can teach you those as well. As for formations, while I don't specialize in them, I've reached Master level in that field."
She paused and added, "Regarding attainment levels, the standard hierarchy is Apprentice, Elite, Master, Grandmaster, Lord, King, Emperor, Saint, and finally Divine level."
Murong Yue straightened slightly as she spoke with pride. "My forging is at King level, while my alchemy has reached Emperor level," she said.
Tian Lei raised an eyebrow, visibly impressed. "That's incredible," he said.
Murong Yue smirked. "It is," she said confidently. "And now that I've regained my strength, I'll be able to guide you properly."
"Then I will be in your care," Tian Lei said earnestly.
Murong Yue nodded. "I'll remain here, but you need to handle things carefully. If that girl suspects soul possession, she'll report it to your sect's higher-ups. And no matter how much they trust you, they might extract me from you—and during that process, your treasure could be exposed," she warned.
Tian Lei considered her words and nodded. "You're right. I'll tell her it was a legacy transfer instead," he said.
"Good," Murong Yue replied. "I'll stay in your Sea of Consciousness-Divine Sea, meditating under the Infinite Fortune Core. If you need me, I'll be watching and ready to help."
Tian Lei smiled faintly before vanishing from his Sea of Consciousness.
As Tian Lei opened his eyes, Yuyan stood before him, her sword pointed at his throat. "Tell me—who are you?" she demanded, her expression sharp.
Tian Lei raised his hands calmly. "It wasn't soul possession. It was a legacy transfer," he explained. "I gained knowledge from a high-level cultivator named Murong Yue. She was a Saintess, and now I have her skills in alchemy and forging."
Yuyan lowered her sword slightly but still looked skeptical. "A Saintess' legacy, huh? And you're completely fine?"
He nodded. "Yes. She even left me some treasures. Let me show you."
"Tell me something only Tian lei and I know," But as he was about to stand up, she pointed her sword at his throat and asked
Tian Lei nodded and then stuttered, "Th-there's a mark on the inside of your left thigh." He looked up and saw Yuyan's face turn bright red.
"You bastard! you said you didn't saw anything?!" Yuyan exclaimed, though she quickly sheathed her sword.
"I-I'm sorry," Tian Lei said apologetically, his face flushing as well.
Yuyan just huffed in response, and Murong Yue, seeing this, couldn't help but comment.
"Take the chains with you and bury my remains. There's a storage ring hidden in my skull. It doesn't contain much, but for you, it should be a decent wealth."
Hearing her voice in his mind, Tian Lei moved toward the skeleton, retrieving the small ring from her skull. "This is a storage ring," he said, holding it up.
Yuyan though somewhat angered, still inspected it, her gaze softening. "You're quite lucky."
Tian Lei shook his head. "Don't worry—I'll use this knowledge to help you too. Without you, I wouldn't have survived," he said earnestly.
Yuyan blushed lightly. "Then… how about you thank me by becoming my Dao Companion?" she asked, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear as her face turned crimson.
"What?!" Tian Lei exclaimed, startled.
"You don't have to react like that," Yuyan pouted.
"I mean… I'm nothing compared to you, so why would you want me?" he asked, still in disbelief.
"Because of your nature," she said softly. "You're kind and humble, no matter the circumstances. I've been watching you for a long time. Your kindness is what attracted me. It's why I protected you when we met, and why I want to stay with you now."
'You even helped me once, though I am pretty sure you don't remember that time' She added inwardly.
