As the gentle rays of sunlight peered through the window, they softly touched and warmed his cheek.
A nurse then came into the room. She walked over to the window and drew the curtains thereby bathing the room in soft and radiant light.
She then proceeded to check on the vitals of the unconscious patient as she ticked boxes off her list with a red pen.
The patient's finger twitched. She saw this but ignored it as this was a common occurrence with this patient.
At the blank space at the bottom of the page she wrote, "Normal vital signs. Appears to be showing signs of recovery from coma."
She then paused as she seemed distracted by her own thoughts. Out loud without any filters she shamelessly blurted, "Cedrick was pretty rough last night," she shivered as she placed her hand on her thigh, "I'm still shaken up about yesterday." She was visibly blushing.
Whoever this Cedrick was, he definitely left his mark, completely bewitching this woman.
_Nngh_ A moan from the direction of the patient brought her back to her senses. The patient was slowly opening his eyes.
Her eyes widened from surprise. "------in" "Mr. Savin" "Mr. Savin"
"Mr. Savin, how are you feeling?" _Uurgh_ He let out another moan betraying that he had a dimension breaking headache.
Savin was an Arabi-English lad. He now had pale brown curly hair that was usually radiating of life. He also had grey eyes which seemed like two silver mirrors regardless of the time and place.
After the nurse confirming that his vitals were stable, she left to call the doctor in charge of him.
When she came back she was behind a middle aged man in a lab coat, his doctor.
"Hello Mr. Savin. My colleague here tells me that you're currently not able to speak. Is that correct?" Savin tried and failed to speak giving out a short moan.
"It's okay, you don't have to speak. Just blink once as a no and twice as a yes." He blinked twice as a confirmation of understanding.
"Okay, so are you experiencing any physical pain or discomfort?" He blinked twice.
"Are you experiencing any mental pain?" He blinked twice.
"Okay. So can you recall as to how you ended up here?" He blinked once.
"So, would you like to know how you ended up here?" He blinked the first time, on the second he found himself staring at two silver mirrors. A reflection of his face.
Fast forward; he was now at his home bathroom staring at his reflection on the mirror. He was recalling the words of the doctor. This is after he got discharged.
"You were involved in an accident where you were hospitalized. You experienced severe physical and mental damage and later went into a coma for one month."
He had been discharged a month after he was told that.
He turned to look away from the mirror. His top half was exposed and a part of his lower half was covered by his turquoise shorts.
He thought of his face of a bit above average but his body was scrawny and feeble. This is what made him turn away from the mirror. The shame of being weak.
He washed his face, put on a casual shirt and walked to the kitchen to make a sandwich. While cutting up the tomatoes he accidentally cut himself.
_Accident_ _Hmm_ _Reminds me of something else_
A memory flashed in his head of another 'accident'.
A memory of a man dressed in full black.
He gripped the kitchen knife even tighter and gritted his teeth. "I'm gonna find you and kill you, Telmo"
That was when he noticed it.
There was a certain red hue overlapping the knife. It was like a layer a fluid flame atop it's surface enveloping it in a color of crimson. Consequently, he remembered seeing something similar at the hospital.
He had seen a very thin layer of the same atop the needles, scalpels and some of the other doctor's tools.
He fell backwards as his legs had given out letting to of the knife as it dropped to the floor beside him.
When he looked at the knife, the strange red fluid flame had disappeared. He inspected it again but he saw nothing out of the ordinary.
Then as he tried to remember it, a memory suddenly flashed through his head leaving a tearing pain in his mind.
It was the memory of a symbol but he lost it as fast as he had found it thereby making the pain subside a little.
He let himself fall on his back and looked at knife next to him as he wondered,
"What in the hell is going on?!"
