Chapter 6 - Chapter 5

It was approaching twenty-one when Samantha, dressed in a fitted dress and high heels, stood in front of the club's entrance. She nervously glanced at her watch and blew her bangs off her forehead, impatiently looking around at the people.

Alex was already thirty minutes late, so the girl was no laughing matter. She hated waiting for another person, especially when someone was playing with time and arranging a mockery.

She wasn't going to stand in front of the club entrance any longer and decided to walk home; however, she stood in mid-step when her hand found itself in a firm grip. Furthermore, she looked over her shoulder and fixed her eyes on Alex's smiling face.

The boy looked charmed by her appearance.

- Did you wait long? - For this question she felt like punching him in the face and getting a bruise on the other side, but refrained seeing that he came with his friends. She should have guessed that he would not go to the club alone.

- Come on... those half an hour flew by so fast that I didn't even look back, and you already arrived," she mocked, piercing him with her eyes. - Since you have my number and were able to call me beforehand, you might as well have done it when you realized you were going to be late.

A goofy smile appeared on his face.

- I didn't even catch that the time flew by so quickly.

- It's worth looking at the watch sometimes," she replied coolly. - I don't like it when someone makes an idiot out of me.

- Are you going to be angry with me? - He asked in a caressing voice, bringing his face to her neck.

Samantha opened her eyes wider, taking a deep breath. She felt herself getting breathless due to the distance that separated them. Alex was too close, and she guessed that a crooked smile crept onto his lips; the boy was satisfied because he had managed to subdue the teenager.

- I'm not going to spoil my fun," she replied in a soft voice, looking at her colleagues standing behind Alex, who exchanged communicative glances among themselves.

- And rightly so," he nodded, moving a short-distance away from her. Samantha looked at the spot where the bruise had been before, but the makeup artist had covered it up perfectly. - After all, this is an exclusive club and not everyone has the opportunity to attend a party full of VIPs.

The teenager understood this as if he had emphasized to her that she was only a companion and should be grateful to him for allowing her to attend the party.

It was a place full of famous people, so the average person would even give up for one invitation.

So the girl ignored his attention and decided to get a taste of the life of the beautiful and rich for once. She wanted to mingle with the crowd, hoping to meet people more famous than Alex.

What man hasn't dreamed of that?

When they stood in front of two powerful bodyguards, the boy put his arm around her and with his other hand greeted the men as if he knew them perfectly well.

Only when they went inside did Samantha let the air out of her mouth with a swish. For a moment, she felt the fear associated with the fact that she would be sent away from this place and even Alex's company would not influence her to set even one foot in the club.

In such a situation, she would undoubtedly burn with shame.

With astonishment, she looked around the bright room, filled with leather sofas, tables full of food and a stage beneath which there was a place to dance.

The young women were dressed in clothes from top designers, looking like a million dollars, with perfectly styled hairstyles and makeup that accentuated their beauty. They boldly chatted with well-known, handsome men who were open to flirting.

Although Samantha wore the best and most expensive dress she had in her closet, she came off rather pale next to those women. She did not feel very glamorous with her invisible makeup and loose hair, which she wore every day.

However, nothing was able to throw her unbalanced, and she didn't even think for a moment about giving up the fun in such a wonderful place.

- Don't worry. You didn't need all those stylists because even without them, you are the prettiest girl in the club. - Alex was capable of any compliment because he was the player type, but Samantha couldn't deny that it didn't make her happy.

- You don't have to tell me about it. I realize that I am a natural beauty," she declared, tossing her hair over her shoulder. She ignored the boy and moved ahead, curiously looking around the room. She felt the gazes of other women on her, who measured her carefully, wondering who she was.

Alex joined her as she stood still, unconcerned about the presence of a commercial model who was in the company of her favorite actor.

Holding a glass of champagne in her hand, Naomi laughed discreetly, putting her hand to her face while the young man told her a funny situation from the set. He gestured as he did so, bestowing upon her a phenomenal smile that would sweep many a woman off her feet.

Measuring his figure, Samantha opened her mouth. He was even more handsome in person, and his long legs seemed to reach for the sky.

She narrowly missed and would have fainted from the sensation.

- Be careful because in a moment a fly will be stuck between your teeth. - Alex clouded over and left the girl alone, heading to his business colleague. He greeted Naomi and exchanged a handshake with the handsome actor, something Samantha would have given herself to death for.

She tentatively approached them and discreetly stood next to the robed man, who ignored her presence. He wanted to take revenge for the way she began to behave after crossing the threshold of this establishment.

The actor noticed the girl and shook her hand in greeting, guessing that she was Alex's colleague.

- Hello," she declared in a nervous voice, not wanting him to take his hand from her shake.

- Is this your companion? - he turned to his younger colleague, who nodded in response. - She is extremely charming. I take that she's fresh to your business?

Samantha batted her eyelashes flirtatiously, charmed that the handsome actor took her for a novice model.

- From there, it's just my companion," he replied, wiping the happy smile off the girl's face.

Naomi looked at her with a sour smile, clearly laughing at her attitude. She was used to meeting famous people, as she herself was at the top, called by everyone "the queen of advertising." For Samantha, this was something new, and shaking hands or at least seeing her favorite actor made her feel like screaming with joy.

- It was a great shame. This girl would have made a buzz around her," he stated, then raised his glass. - If you'll excuse me, I'll go say hello to the others.

The young man left, and the teenager felt a deep disappointment at his departure.

- No wonder he ran away, seeing her behavior. - Naomi snorted under her breath, unable to bear her presence.

- What do you mean? I didn't notice anything inappropriate in her behavior. - Alex stood up for the teenager, thinking that she had done nothing to embarrass him.

The blonde disregarded his answer and sat down on the couch, allowing her friend and his partner to join her. Although she had no desire to be near this girl, she thought her presence could be quite entertaining.

Alex's friends sat down, greeting Naomi, with whom they had a good relationship.

Time passed and everyone chatted with each other, having a great time in each other's company. Only Samantha was occupied with her phone, typing out meaningless messages to Mark, in which she informed him where she was and what she was doing.

She thought that regular clubs were much more interesting and people were able to have more fun, but everything changed when the clock struck twenty-two.

Sad songs turned into dance music, and champagne was replaced by strong alcohol.

Alex's colleague ran to the table with two bottles of whiskey and handed everyone a glass, skipping Samantha, who automatically felt sorry.

- Forgive me, but I didn't bring one for you because I wasn't sure if you were of age. You look very young," he explained when Alex measured him with sharp eyes.

- So you should have asked first, you idiot. - He gave the girl back her glass and with a nod sent his friend a second time.

She wasn't going to admit that she was underage when she could taste expensive alcohol in the company of famous people.

She glanced at the display when she got the message. Mark finally decided to write her back.

"Stop texting me. I want to sleep."

Naomi, who was sitting next to her, snorted with laughter as she brazenly read her message.

- Are you sure this is your boyfriend? I don't think he loves you if he's writing you off like this.

Samantha felt like smashing a glass over her head for sticking her nose into things that weren't hers.

- At least I have a boyfriend, and no one wants you, whine. - This was the second person who made Naomi realize that she was unfit for relationships and would end up as an old maid with cats.

Alex didn't pay attention to their conversation because he was discussing with a girl who approached their table. She was a pretty gray-haired girl who, crossing her legs and giggling under her breath, pulled her hair behind her ear sometimes, clearly flirting with him.

The teenager was just waiting for the moment when her heel would break from bending those legs, but as luck would have it, nothing like that came, and the girl said goodbye to Alex and went back to her friends.

Samantha didn't give a damn about him flirting with other women when he took her along as a companion. She was simply glad that she got a chance to spend time in an exclusive club that was unreachable for the average person. And especially for her, since she was still underage.

One of the guys poured a small amount of whiskey for everyone, so they all raised their glasses to toast.

For Samantha, it was the first time with this alcohol, so the taste was not to her liking. She croaked, which Alex, who was sitting next to her, noticed.

- I bet the only alcohol you tried was beer," he whispered in her ear in an amused voice. - But you're still a child, so I have no right to laugh at you. At this age, alcohol should still be a stranger to you.

Out of anger, she pinched his thigh under the table, noticing the grimace on his face.

- So why did you take me with you to the party if I'm a child? - She curved her lips in a tart smile. - Because I'm pretty despite my young age, and you wanted a pretty accessory at your side?

Alex laughed in her face and gave a snap to her forehead. The girl massaged the sore spot with her finger, seeing the boy glance fleetingly at Naomi.

- I love the company of interesting women, regardless of age," he said, measuring her legs in a short dress. - And you look mature, considering your age.

Naomi smiled under her breath, having fun with the texts he caught most girls at.

- One thing puzzles me," she spoke up in an amused voice, getting the teenager's attention. - Why did you come to the party with Alex if you have a boyfriend? Shouldn't Mark be angry if you're flying with him?

- You shouldn't care," she replied fiercely. - I'm only here as a companion, and I'm not doing anything wrong that could affect my relationship.

- Really? - There was so much venom behind her smile that Samantha felt like sticking a needle in her with a syringe and draining all the poison out of her. - So next time I can take Mark with me?

Samantha laughed nervously, making no secret of the fact that the presence of this viper and her adoration of Mark made her nauseous.

- Try all you want, but even by force you won't succeed. Mark is not that kind of boy, and besides, he doesn't like you.

- I am able to change everything: the character of a person, and also that hatred imperceptibly transforms into love.

The teenager wrinkled her nose.

- Good joke. With Mark, you will never succeed.

- You can start choking on saliva because I will do everything to make Mark mine. Everything," she stressed the last word, smiling sultrily.

Samantha hadn't even guessed what Naomi was capable of doing to get what she stubbornly wanted.
