In the city filled with black smoke, the surroundings were in ruins. On the top of a building, a white beam of light fell from the sky. After the beam of light dissipated, a boy was lying down. The boy was about fifteen or sixteen years old, with fair skin and a handsome appearance.
The boy slowly opened his eyes. The black smoke floated in the sky like clouds. He sat up quickly and checked his body. He found that he had no discomfort. So why was he here? Shouldn't he be attending a party at the comic exhibition?
The boy's name was **Ethan Blake**. His parents had named him with the hope that he would grow up to be a hero.
"What's going on?" Ethan Blake came to the edge of the building. The streets and buildings he saw were basically destroyed. The sound of crying filled the entire area, as if it were hell on earth.
It wasn't just this area. Everywhere he could see was in the same state. There were even violent explosions in the distance, but it didn't look like a war between countries.
Ethan was inexplicably shocked. He felt as if he were in a dream. Why had he appeared here? What was going on with this scene?
"The world you see now is five years later..."
Ethan turned his head suddenly. An old man with white hair and a beard stood beside him, as if he had been there all along. Ethan immediately stepped back a few steps, looked at the old man, and asked, "Who are you?"
The white-haired old man turned his head. He had a kind face, looking as gentle as Ethan's grandfather. "Don't ask who I am. I came here to give you something."
"Something for me?" Ethan frowned. He couldn't bring himself to be wary of the old man, who seemed oddly familiar, like a relative.
"Take it, use its power to survive, and work hard to become stronger. Fight against the other three people like you. Remember, you are in different camps, so stay vigilant at all times!" The white-haired old man stretched out his hand, and a ball of golden light flew out and fell into Ethan's palm.
The golden light sank into Ethan's right palm. A faint golden dot pattern appeared, and a golden circle mark formed on the back of his hand.
"What is this?" Ethan looked at his palm and the back of his hand in shock, turning them over and over. This was beyond his expectations; it was so magical.
The white-haired old man smiled kindly, and the next moment, he turned into a white light and dissipated into the air.
"Don't go! You haven't told me what this is for!" Ethan tried to grab at the disappearing light, but it was gone.
"Boom!"
A violent explosion erupted, and Ethan suddenly turned his head. On a street very close to him, flames rose sky-high. A figure emerged from the fire. He was tall, wearing a black cloak, and under his short hair were eagle-like eyes.
Those piercing eyes suddenly locked onto Ethan, and he felt his entire body shudder as if all his secrets were laid bare.
Terrifying. Absolutely terrifying!
This was Ethan's first impression. He felt as if he might be killed. At the same time, a woman appeared at the other end of the street. She had long white hair flowing down her back, silver pupils, and a tight jumpsuit with white and gray stripes. She walked over slowly.
The woman gave off an overwhelming sense of coldness. Beneath her icy beauty lay a perfect face, like an untouchable goddess of ice.
Ethan was stunned but suddenly noticed a man standing on a building across from him. This man was about 5'9", three inches taller than Ethan, with a neat blue middle-part hairstyle. He wore casual blue clothes and simply looked at Ethan quietly.
Just as Ethan felt that something was about to happen, the two men and one woman simultaneously turned their gazes toward him. Their expressions shifted into meaningful smiles.
"Shua!"
At that moment, the world around Ethan seemed to rewind. The black smoke in the sky dissipated into a blue sky, and the ruined buildings restored themselves as if time had reversed.
The two men and the woman vanished. The scene around Ethan moved as if he were watching a movie being rewound at high speed.
Time seemed to pass in reverse for an eternity until everything finally stopped. Ethan's head ached inexplicably as fragments of information flooded his mind.
He now understood everything. He was a time traveler who had entered the world of *My Hero Academia*, a world set in a superpowered society. In this society, humans were born with "quirks," unique abilities that often developed before the age of four. Those who didn't awaken a quirk were either ordinary or had imperceptible abilities.
Ethan realized that the horrifying scene he'd witnessed was five years in the future when a catastrophic Dark Age would begin. The two men and the woman were also time travelers, like him, with the same rookie-level abilities as his.
Ethan also now knew how to activate his quirk. With a thought, energy pooled in the palm of his right hand. The faint golden dot on his palm glowed softly. Instantly, he felt power coursing through his body.
His quirk was called "Holy Light." As its name suggested, it was a saintly power. This quirk started as a prototype but would grow stronger as Ethan's abilities developed, manifesting as energy shields, protective gear, and weapons.
Ethan examined the golden circle on the back of his hand. It was a system interface showing his basic stats:
**[Ethan Blake: 15 years old, Birthday: August 1, Height: 5'7", Weight: 110 lbs.]**
**[Quirk: Holy Light (Power of the Saint)]**
**[Experience Level: LV1 / 0 / 100]**
**[Holy Light: LV1-LV10. Each level doubles the energy output and enhances the materialization of weapons, gear, and shields.]**
**[Current Combat Power: Can break walls.]**
The system was useful for tracking his progress. Ethan didn't yet know the full extent of its functions, but he understood one thing clearly: his mission in this world was to grow stronger, contribute during the coming Dark Age, and stay on guard against the other three travelers.
