Cool wind blew as Savras repeatedly swung his sword, clashing with the hot temperature of his body. He had been in this world for two weeks, and he was filled with a sense of impending doom which seemingly grew more and more each day. His inner oracle had revealed much to him, including its ability to predict the future, displayed through his discovery that the world would be enveloped in an apocalypse in approximately two months.
This left Savras with very limited time to train, and he meant to make as much use of it as possible. Although Savras was still forced to attend academic classes, he had arranged with Gerard to allow him at least two training sessions per day with a duration of an hour and a half each. This enabled him to improve slightly, both his hand to hand combat and sword mastery skills rising to level three.
Savras put down his sword, and called out to his Inner Oracle, the familiar blue panel appearing in front of him immediately.

Taking in the menu, Savras noticed a notification next to the store tab, clicking into it, Savras was presented with the words Rune Roulette in a bright red font, along with an info tab. Clicking into the info tab, Savras was greeted with a block of text.
[Runes: Runes are a source of energy, which upon consumption will increase one of your attribute points depending on the nature of the rune. i.e (Health, Strength, dexterity).
The value that the rune improves a stat by can also vary with the level of the rune, with levels going as follows:
Fragmented Rune ---> (1)
Cohesive Rune ---> (3)
Minor Rune ---> (5)
Intermediate Rune ---> (10)
Major Rune ---> (20)
[Note: Be aware that upon killing powerful entities, ascended runes can be acquired, surpassing the strength of ordinary runes.]
Taking in this information, Savras was pleased. Although he had been training for the past two weeks, the only experience he gained was towards his skills, not his stats. Savras was now smiling with excitement, if he could increase his strength above that of a normal human, wouldn't he be unstoppable?
Savras peered at the roulette wheel, a multitude of different stone shaped objects floated in front of him in pairs of two, along with a bright yellow button.

Savras had the perfect amount to spin the wheel, and he figured why the hell not.

Savras crossed his fingers as he pressed on the button, his eyes lighting up with color as different runes flashed across the wheel rapidly. As Savras watched the wheel slowly come to a stop, another notification appeared before him.

Selecting use, the two runes appeared before him, a mysterious energy flowed from them, and entered his body

Savras got chills as the energy entered him, but a warm sensation slowly built up throughout his muscles and organs. He couldn't tell what was happening exactly, but he could feel his body becoming stronger, and he got the urge to check his status panel.

Savras grinned as he saw the changes in his status panel. His strength and dexterity both increased, and he could feel the changes in his body immediately.
"Holy shit I can directly increase my physical attributes, bruh what is this, Dark Souls??"
"Even If I continue to raise my stats, could two months really be enough time to prepare.."
Savras shook these thoughts from his mind. He needed to lock in and get as strong as possible before the world turned to shit, so he stood up, shook his head, and headed for the showers.

Savras exhaled quickly as he pushed himself out of the situp position. In these last two weeks he had focused on grinding quests as much as possible in order to obtain Oracle Coins for the "esteemed" rune roulette.
"This stupid system making me do all this just to fund my fucking gambling addiction"

Savras sighed, silently cursing the system under his breath, but inevitably, like the slot zombie he was, he gave in and purchased two spins on the rune roulette.
He watched the wheel spinning, his mouth drooling at the various colors on the screen.

These results were to be expected. Savras had never gotten anything better than a cohesive rune, and he even considered himself lucky to obtain one on this roll. Quickly absorbing the runes, Savras rejoiced in the amazing feeling.
Pulling up his status, Savras smiled. He did not regret his addiction to gambling as it had granted him bountiful rewards.

Savras positioned himself in front of a tree in one of the courtyards of the mansion. Winding his fist back, he launched it forward with a whoosh, colliding with the tree.
"CRACK!"
Savras looked down at the tree where his fist had collided, noting the indentation of his fist, accompanied by jagged cracks going down from its base. Savras now possessed strength far above that of the average man.
"Do not judge a man who has gained his fortune through the power of gambling!"
Savras was now strong enough to feel confident in his abilities to fight and survive. And he still had time to get stronger before the end of the world commenced. Smirking, Savras headed to his room with a brand new conviction.
"I must continue to grind for more money to fund my roulette!!"
